I placed apples and oranges on the two feeders that were purchased and noticed that the birds readily ate the apples but did not touch the oranges. Thus, I have not placed any more oranges on the fruit feeder and will wait until the weather warms up before I try the oranges again.I wish there was some way to prevent the piece that holds the fruit from coming apart after the fruit has been eaten by the birds. I had to hunt for them in the grass on the ground [...]
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This is a very simple design and does the job well.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I use it to put oranges and apples in for the birds. It keeps the fruit in place and it is difficult for the squirrels to get to.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
As long as it hangs by a supportive branch, the birds love it. They are a little leary about standing on the feeder.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Hangs in our Norweigan maple to provide fresh fruit for the birds.Looks sweet and attractive!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Prior to this fruit feeder, I'd wrap an onion bag around 1/2 an orange and tie it on a tree limb with a shoe string............. This simplifies everything...... Thanks for your inventiveness.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
My Mom would use this Bird Fruit Feeder in the Spring and Summer time. It is durable and easy to use. But, it is not squirrel proof and big bird proof. Great for birds that need more energies.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Attracts many birds year round. We live along the river and have a large property which promotes a lot of species of birds. It's great to have them all around.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I purchased this to give as a gift, and was very disappointed in the plain brown box the feeder came in. There was no photo nor diagram to explain how to assemble or what it should look like with the fruit in place. If it had been sent as is, as a surprise, the recipient would have no idea what it was. Luckily I saw it first, and was able to include a picture from the catalog. As I am giving this as a gift, I do not yet know whether the feeder will be successful.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Not a good product
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Much easier to use than driving a nail into a tree and pushing fruit on it. Only fruit eating birds are attracted to it. Simple to replace old fruit.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
The nose on the little stone bird was broken off when it arrived but it doesn't really affect its look or function so I elected not to return it.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
While I was really excited about this method of feeding the local birds (the seeds is just too much of a mess), I have yet to see any bird interested in my feeder. My husband also had to use silicone the ceramic bird to the feeder, as it would have fallen if left outdoors.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
There is no way to load this feeder without having a lot of contact with the fruit. Hence, the user gets sticky fingers while trying to get the center prong into place. Cumbersome "operation" to load fruit. I imagine I will discard the feeder soon.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I really like this feeder. It is something you don't see very often and very attractive with the realistic looking bird on top, so I have had quite a few comments from friends. There is only one way to correctly "load" the fruit, so be ready to reload your fruit a couple of times untill you get used to it. A great way to get rid of your fruit that is starting to go bad.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I hung it first thing with an apple on it, the brids love it, but the little bird fell off and broke first thing.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Very easy to use and hang. Orioles and catbirds immediately flew to it to feed.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I was impressed with the product.
It looks very nice on my arbor.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I actually use granny smith apples smeared with peanut butter and dipped in bird seed. Finches love it, and apparently so do deer. It is difficult and messy to set up with the apples and peanut butter, but worth it.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Put out for spring migrating fruit eaters, so far no takers.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Although I haven't noticed any birds eating the orange I put out, I have high hopes for this spring, and will try different fruits. I hope it will attract all the advertised birds plus butterflies.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I thought I'd have to wait until spring to use the fruit feeder. But during a bad snow storm I put an apple on it and hung it from our porch railing. The birds loved it!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
giving as a gift for family member who just bought a house on a very tree filled lot
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Easy to Use
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I like the feeder but the spike the fruit is on comes out of this gizmo as the birds mangle the fruit down to the last morsel. That spike should have just a slight curve to it to stop this. I did that and it fixed the problem
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Hasn,t attracted ANYTHING!!!!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Simple and effective design; orioles love it!!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
given as gift, haven't used it myself.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I use it for my fruit loving birds like Robins, so they will leave my citrus trees alone! It is great in the winter for birds, as well.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Great Product! The birds love it, and the squirrels can't break it! Very durable!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
i wouldn't waste the money
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This feeder makes it easy to clean and refill. The birds will love it.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
VERY DISSAPOINTED NO BIRDS CAME AFTER 3WEEKS
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
VEry easy to use
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Birds love this product and it is very economical and easy to use.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I bought this as a gift for my mother. We have orioles that visit our yard in the spring. We have not had a chance to test out whether the orioles like this yet, but it looks great. My mom loved it and it will be easy for her to use (she is 70+ with arthritis).
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Looking forward to seeing all the different birds this really attracts.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I gave this feeder as a gift and presented it on top of a basket of oranges. It was very well received!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
It is well made a neat idea and will hold the fruit from falling off.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Added this to my collection of feeders from an upper deck...still waiting for birds to discover. Weather turned very cold and suspect it will be better appreciated in the spring.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Let's wait a while! The fruit freezes immediately just now.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Very clever device....to attract a wonderful sounding and beautiful bird.
The separate bird attached is not necessary and has the potential to fall or get knocked off.
I don't use mine.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This feeder was exactly as it was pictured and described. A great treat for your feathered friends and for those enjoy watching them.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
It was a good thing I opened the box before I gift wrapped it! There was nothing inside to tell the recipient what it was or how to use it. I clipped the picture from the catalog and taped it to the feeder. The feeder seemed a bit frail for what was to hang and be pulled from it, but my friend will probably not mention it, so I will not know.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
The decorative bird is made of unglazed clay and must be taken off in cold weather. Hole in bird where it sits is poorly crafted, and I don't expect it to last through more than a couple of on and offs. There is nothing to keep the rod in position. I suspect much bird activity will end up with the fruit rod falling off.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I've needed a fruit stabber for those beautiful Orioles that flock through once a year. This product fits the bill. Thanks

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This feeder is attractive and novel. I hung it up with an apple, and well before the birds discovered it, some other animal had gotten to it. I found the feeder tossed on the ground, fruitless, with the skewer removed. Probably a raccoon culprit. I will try again, but sense this is a losing battle.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I previously had a wooden feeder for fruit and prefer this, We feed birds and squirrels and they both enjoy an apple a day.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I use the feeder with pommegrantes to attract house finches and mockingbirds. A curved bill thresher tried to get the pommegrante seeds but it was too large for the feeder and couldn't get the seeds.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I have this hanging in front of my window so I can enjoy the birds all winter. Love it!!!

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I wish I had thought of this one! What a great way to attract the birds to a small corner in my yard. It's so easy to work with and you really have many choices of what to put on it. Thanks for making this available.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
great way to utilize fruit scraps and feed birds too!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I will get a lot of enjoyment with this product.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
A friend lost hers to a bear, when I saw this I had to get it for her. Can't wait til she opens it!

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I was very pleased with this, but since I'm a fan of simplicity, I left the clay bird that perches on the top of this feeder off. My Orioles are really impressed!

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This feeder is sturdy, easy to set up, and has a wide 'hook' hanger so it can be placed on a variety of locations: hooks, branches of trees, etc. Undesirable birds don't like the fruit. One caveat: It isn't squirrel proof, but I LOVE to watch a squirrel take a few bites and hold the apple bit in its hands and eat it. There are enough birds to give the birds their fair share, and enough for the squirrel, too. I shopped locally for fruit feeders, and this one beat the others hands down, both in price and quality.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Love the appearance in my back yard. I also think the skewer for fruit-feeders is a good idea, but I haven't seen a bird at the feeder yet. Hopefully, patience will pay off.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
The one thing I would change is a better way to attach the bird on the top. I sometimes worry it will fall off when the Orioles use it.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Use it as intended. Works great for it's purpose.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Was a cool product. Should have areas that it will work in. I live in Utah and the birds are not attracted to this item.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
haven't gotten birds yet, but think it is too early here in NW. very easy to use, love how it looks and NO squirrels...
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Easily bends, hangs crooked, "spear" falls out, decorative bird falls off. I returned this item and felt it was not worth any price whatsoever.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
The fruit feeder is an excellent addition to my back yard, despite the fact it has yet to attract any wildlife. However, gardening/bird watching is a past time that requires patience...so I wait.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
So far the birds will not use this feeder. However, I am hopeful they might change after this new type feeder hangs out there with the other feeders for awhile.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I really like the design of this feeder compared to others I've got. I'm not that wild about the bird figurine at the top, and would prefer it without that feature, but may spray-paint that a more rustic color or just leave it off entirely, and I'd prefer it if the fruit rod had a pointed tip and if it were made a bit more sturdy, perhaps. I think it will work just fine, though!

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Very crude construction - many "weld" points. Fruit holds it together - there's nothing else to keep the fruit skewer in place. The decorative bird breaks easily and isn't secure on feeder. It's a good design, but I think I could have easily made something similar for free.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
While I am excited about the prospects of using this product, I won't be able to use it until we have cleared the icy fingers of winter.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Easy to set up, but since birds aren't eating the fruit yet, we have to take down the old stuff and replace. Hopefully, they'll catch on soon or we'll offer something more enticing.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
No birds have visited this feeder, in spite of our trying several different and usually-attractive fruits (such as oranges, apples, etc.) This was a waste of money. I ordered two and gave one as a Christmas gift; the recipient has had the same disappointing result.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
It will attract more birds more than just birdseed
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
As a gift to someone who loves feeding/watching birds, this is a winner. It is easy to put to use right out of the box and it has eye appeal -
great price.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
We bought this for my mother-in-law, who is an avid bird watcher/feeder. She loved receiving it and hopes to see many birds feeding from it.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I gave this as a Christmas gift to a dear friend who never seems to forget our wild creature friends. I'm anxious to see if it works as well as it is constructed.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Easy to set up and nice to have near the birdfeeders.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
A GREAT WAY TO USE OVERLY RIPE FRUIT AND HELP OUR FEATHERED FRIEND THROUGH ALL THE COLD WINTER DAYS AHEAD!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Creative, simple design but needs to include a photo & precise instructions for assembly...I made a copy of the catalogue photo to include with ones given as christmas gifts.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
The product is very thin and low quality metal. Based on the product picture, I expected something made from a thicker/higher quality metal. It will probably work just fine, but it's not as nice as I expected it to be.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
We are still waiting on the birds to discover the orange. Perhaps they are best hung during the spring or summer.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
unique design
not squirrel proof
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
It looks great in the yard w/ the other feeders. Hopefully the birds will be attracted to it.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Easy to load fruit and looks pretty, too.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Good idea as a product, but difficult to give as a gifts as I had intended because no photo or explanation is included to show how it works a fruit feeder. I would either need to copy the photo from the catalog or be there to assemble. It would not be logical to preassemble with an orange to send as a gift.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I have purchased the fruit feeder as a Christmas gift for a friend. She enjoys feeding birds year around and I try to find gifts that are "unique and different" for her. I examined the feeder and found it easy to assemble and hang and it is sturdy enough to use for several years. I plan to order one for myself soon.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
We have apples in these gadgets, right now. They have not been attractive to many of our local wild life. Since one half apple has completely disappeared I think that a squirrel may have benefitted - that's OK with us.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Great Gift
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I haven't officially used it to be honest. I bought it as a Christmas gift for a friend that loves birds just as much as I do. She is difficult to buy for so I thought this would be the perfect gift.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Purchased in mid-summer, but I think that it will serve my purpose in attracting birds on a year 'round basis. Very easy to work with and have had no problems with squirrels or racoons to date. I have used oranges, tangerines and apples with much success.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I keep forgetting to buy oranges for it!! My problem--not yours. Glad I got it. It looks pretty in the garden even without a fruit.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This is an attractive addition to my garden, even when not loaded with fruit.

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Not one bird approached the apple halves; they just got moldy. Squirrel knocked clay bird off and broke it. It rusted immediately. Have not and will not use it again.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Squirrels knocked out the pin and it was lost so now do not use it

Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This fruit-feeder is great for the cooler months, especially spring nesting time. The only problem I had with it was keeping the fruit from sliding off--it had to be adjusted, sometimes daily. And you DON'T want to use it in the summer, because the ants and bees WILL find it :)
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
The feeder looked attractive and easy to use in the picture. In reality it looked ill-formed and rusty. The spike that goes through the orange is difficult to use and could easily injure your hand. I was disappointed in the product and actually discarded it.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
This is a great way to entice Baltimore Orieles and other fruit loving birds.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
My gift giving could not have been easier or more clever! My neighbor keeps fruit in the feeder year 'round. The fruit eating birds really do like it and it has attracted alot of activity to the yard!
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I purchased the fruit feeder as a Christmas present for my brother. He liked it, but probably only used it a couple of times. The problem for him was that he had to remember to buy oranges/fruit, then actually cut the fruit and load the feeder with the fruit! Too much effort for him. He was better suited to the birdseed globes that he just hung on the hook... Normal people would probably like this feeder :-)
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Haven't had much luck attracting birds with it and it isn't rust-proof as advertised. It is easy to use, however and features a cute bird on top that can be removed in cold weather.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
I gave this as a gift to my mother in Oregon, she loves it and can't imagine where I get her all these lovely things. She keeps it on the deck, because she also has deers that would love the fruit.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
over all I enjoy using it--It is a very interesting
addition to my yard. I gave my cousin one too
for her garden.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Within a week of hanging the fruit feeder, I found it on the ground, broken, with the orange halves chewed by squirrels.
Comments about Fruit Feeder:
Overall, not a bad product. It is well constructed but the bird ornament, while pretty, fell off the first day and was unusuable after that (not that it was necessary in the first place).
