WORKED GREAT DURING THE WINTER. EASY TO SET-UP AND ATTRACTS LOTS OF BIRDS.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Our first heated birdbath from Gardeners Supply lasted 10 years in our cold snow covered back yard. It worked well even in the coldest weather. We have four feeders around the birdbath near our sliding patio doors. It's like a wildlife show all winter long. IT's especially great to see the Cardinals sticking around our yard because they know they can find seeds and water. The product does everything its says.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Purchased the pole mounted type birdbath as a gift for friend. Friend is satisfied with the product.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
It is fine
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Attached to our deck off the back door. Very easy to fill and clean. Wish it had a longer plug in cord and a deeper pan (need to check daily on very cold dry days). So much easier to maintain and fill than dealing with our yard bird bath and an immersible heater. Overall, I like it very much, appreciate its ease to fill and clean, and would recommend it!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
1st: It works! Retains water at a warm temp in very cold, freezing weather. It does much better than a warming tool I bought elsewhere for our stone birdbath. Easy to place on deck railing. Birds do come to it, especially our Mocking Bird!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Easy to clean. Easy to hook onto the deck rail.
Love to look at the birds drinking and preening. Worked very well in the low temps. Loved the sale price.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
not sturdy and kept tipping over and the water kept spilling out. apparently, too high off the ground because no birds are using it. this is the SECOND birdbath i have bought from you guys neither one are being used by the many birds that eat the grub we put out for them to eat. Is this too profane to say? what a sheer waste of money.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
IT GIVES OUR BIRDS WATER AND IT'S GREAT WATCHING THEM DRINK AND PLAY IN IT.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We have this on our back deck and the birds love being able to take a quick bath and loooong drink in below freezing weather! We love watching them from our sunroom.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This was a gift to relatives in Massachusetts. They were so happy that their feathered friends now have water even on the coldest days.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This product keeps water liquid even at subzero temps, but mine is on the spiky stand and will not balance properly on this stand. It tilts so much once filled with water that one side is w/o water when the opposite side is overflowing. The problem is the wide basin sitting on such a small spike. It just won't balance properly, no matter how much I try to maneuver it.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We got this bird bath just before a major cold snap, and it has maintained a fresh water supply for our birds even with nighttime temps down to the teens. The birds love it when everything else is frozen over. I only wish it were slightly larger.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
i have had the one that sits on the ground for three years now. it has been visited by birds, squirrels, rabbits and mice. i put a couple pebbles in it after reading an earlier review and that made a HUGE difference. it seems that the solid black is unlike anything in nature and some birds are repelled by it. but if you put some "ground" like substance in it, then they come.
there are a couple things that are not perfect with this bath. first, the power cord is very short, so i needed to connect it to an extension cord, and there is no built in cover for the connection (some products do have this). so i taped it, but it's a pain to untape in the spring when i put it away. second, the powder coating on the base was not evenly put on, so the joints where the little legs meet the base are beginning to rust. my guess is that it will last another winter or two. (But i'll keep you posted). finally, it's made in china, as so many of the products at gardener's supply, but i've tried lots of birdbaths made in the US, and in china, and this is by far the best one. it really beats having one of those little heaters that you place in a standard bird bath, as the heaters i've tried always fall out (usually because of squirrel activity), or get crudded up, and stop working.
altogether this has been well worth the money. i would recommend the ground-standing version to everyone.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Fits nicely on our deck. Hasn't attracted a lot of birds yet
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I placed this bird bath near some bushes added warter and in about an hour the birds were testing it out. So I am very delighted with this prduct.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Bought 1 for me 2 years ago. Let it run out of water & it split (my fault)-husband melted back together-better than new. Getting 1 for daughter.
Birds at it constantly - we go to -10 sometimes in winter.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Early frost in our area has been a good test of the product.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have used this heated dish for many years. This is my 3rd replacement. I use it on top of a decorative stand.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
when it was windy the bird bath flew over
otherwise it is a great product used it all
winter & was able to attract a variety of
birds - sure enjoyed watching the birds up
close -will use it again & again.....
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I hung two feeders in my mature, wooded backyard this fall but couldn't seem to attract any birds no matter what kind of seed I used. I bought the deck mounted birdbath in late Dec. and within a few days, there were birds at the bath and both feeders. I now have cardinals, bluebirds, several types of finches, chickadees, nuthatches, juncos and red-bellied woodpeckers.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We are up on the side of a hill and a wind squall turned the liner on its side.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Was able to install near back door, birds began to use within 5 days, love convenience and no longer have to break ice. Easy to dump and clean, do not have a negative word to say. If it quits working in a year or two I'd find it too high priced to replace but I'm totally pleased...thank you.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have the waterer on my back deck railing. Squirrels seem to be quite attracted to it and have seen some smaller birds but not larger birds such as cardinals, blue jays, etc., drinking water. Is something inherent in the design that causes larger birds not to drink?

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
A snap to clean. I just wish they had a dish to replace it for the summer.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I put this on my patio so I could watch from the window. The birds love it. It hasn't frozen even in Michigan winters. It's run dry a few times, but that doesn't appear to be a problem. The short cord makes it a little limited in placement, but all in all its a good product.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This is a well-constructed, heated birdbath that gets the job done throughout the worst winter days. It is large enough and deep enough for birds to both drink from and bathe in. The shaft that elevates it is sturdy and a good, safe height for the birds to use. The materials of the birdbath are solid and well-chosen. Although utilitarian in shape and design, it fits into the yard's landscape well.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
My husband actually rigged this birdbath to fit up in a tree near his bird feeders. Birds need a good supply of water in the winter. The squirrels of course, like it too.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I wanted to set it on the ground as shown but it has a clamp and no legs
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
easy to install and clean. birds love the consistant water when everything else frozen solid.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
VERY EASY TO INSTALL. HOWEVER, WEIGHT OF BIRDBATH WITH WATER CAUSES IT TO KEEP AN UNEVEN WATER LEVEL. IT IS TILTED. MAY BE ABLE TO REMEDY LATER WHEN IT WARMS UP AND I CAN MODIFY THE BRACKET. THE BIRDS DON'T SEEM TO MIND THOUGH!!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I clamped the heated birdbath to a shelf outside our kitchen window, filled it up and pluged it in. Easy to install and maintain. The birds were using it within one hour.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Heated birdbath is on the deck railing about 15' from the seed. It took the birds a week to locate it but now it is constantly used especially by the bluebirds. We have had temperatures ranging from -5 to 45 degree and the water has remained cool and never frozen. Our sink is not far away which helps in cleaning and refilling the bath.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Water stays liquid even when temperature is 10 - 15 below zero. Birds are even taking baths are low temps.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Even with Wisconsin, -20 this has worked.
The birds took a few days to trust it, but the birds love it. it was so easy to put on deck it took me all of 10 minutes. would highly recommend.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Birds love this bath! Have used bath in zero degree weather, and works perfectly. Very easy to empty for quick water change. I should have bought two!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This is great for the freezing weather we get on and off during winter. The shallow pan means we refill more than our other bird baths, but we get a lot of the smaller song birds.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
It's great to be able to supply my birds with
water in the winter
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This is mounted on deck outside kitchen window. Squirrels and birds love it. I even saw a nuthatch (so says the St. Louis Zoo Answer Line). I'm now keeping a camera on the kitchen table.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Product somes with a very short (4") power cord. Mine is mounted on my deck rail less than two feet from the outdoor outlet I use to power the rotiserie on my gas grill, and I had to purchase a heavy duty lead to reach the outlet.
Unit does not handle melting snow well, and if you live in snow country like I do, you must continually add very hot water to the bird bath to eliminate the build up of snow and ice that forms like a dome over the top of it. It will, however, melt whatever ice comes in contact with the tray bottom. Unfortunately, the resulting water evaporates quickly, leaving a layer of ice about an inch from the tray bottowm that will not melt without the addition of hot water.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Although it is winter (making water hard to find here in the Midwest), we are simply amazed at how much the birds like their new heated birdbath. There have been times when the rim was completely occupied, with other birds sitting on the deck railing "waiting their turn" - some get tired of waiting and just shoulder their way in.
I had to make some modification to the deck railing in order to securely attach the birdbath but this was more a function of the railing construction than the clamp arrangement of the birdbath.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
It does keep the water from freezing. We recently had temps around 20 degrees below zero, and the water did not freeze.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have wanted a heated birdbath for some time, but they have been too expensive. [...] I ordered the deck mounted version immediately! It functions well. However, after installation the dish tilts down by almost 1/2" so the water is not level so it holds less.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
My backyard birds are so happy!. This heated bird bath is lightweight and easy to clean. It has been sturdy enough to withstand the sub zero temperatures and 42 inches of snow that we have gotten. The birds love it- I have counted up to 25 sparrows in it and on it at one time!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
The birds are really happy. We had to devise a new support system to keep the birdbath level. Post is way to flimsy to support filled birdbath adequately.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have always wanted a bird bath for winter. It attracts many birds, what a joy to watch!
It has only gone dry once, I was away for two days and came back on day three.
I think the only thing I might change is getting one off the ground a little higher, but the snow NEVER covered it!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have had this product for about a month. It took about a week for the birds to discover it. Now they come to it quiet often.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Happy to have this product, wish it came in twos, so would have one for ground-feeding birds and one for hanging feeder birds (deck-mounted), but for the same amount of money!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This is on our front deck. We have had alot of cold weather this winter and it has been working great. When it is steaming from the cold, it looks like the birds are around a sauna! We even had four doves on it at one time!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have placed the heated bird bath in my front yard and the birds love it. Living in the south as I do, we don't get snow very often but we did have snow last week and the birds stayed in the heated bath constantly.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have recommended this product to all of the birders I know. It is easy to maintain and never freezes, even in below zero temps.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This heated birdbath was super simple to set up. It was worth everything when I recently looked out my livingroom window on a cold day and saw about 6 bluebirds taking a very splashy bath!
They were beautiful!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
The birdbath was easy to assemble and is easy to clean and fill. The birds love it! The birdbath seemed a bit top heavy (wobbly) after filling with water so I secured it by using cable ties to attach the stake to a low iron fence surrounding my patio.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I set it on top of my concrete birdbath and it serves not only the birds, but squirrels as well drink from it. Very sturdy and functioned well in recent 20 below temps.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Easy to set up. Is working very well in the coldest weather we've had this winter. Birds came readily to drink and use this water source.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
It allows the use of an extension cord and is easy to clean. The birds and squirrels love it, and so do my cats from inside the house!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Plastic water tray lifts out to empty and wipes clean easily. I've also seen a stray cat taking advantage of the gently warmed water on a frigid morning.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I check the water level often, but I am happy that if it evaporates due to the wind it won't damage the bath before I can refill it. The cats and I enjoy watching the bird and squirrel activity from the window. All the critters are grateful to have the water available. I would definitely recommend to others.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We have the heated birdbath off our patio for the birds. But not just the birds are using it! We have squirrels and other critters using it as well. It's fun to watch the birds take turns drinking from it. I recommend this product to all nature lovers.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Our birds have loved this birdbath ever since my husband installed it. Our only problem has been being able to keep it filled they use it so much!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We have it close to the house so we can enjoy the winter birds and keep it filled. No rail on our deck so the model with stand was just right for us!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I think it needs a second bowl without the heater for warm weather use. The dimensions make it difficult to find a bowl that is the right size.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
A handy little gadget that works well in the garden
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I purchased this one for my sister, but we have had a stand-mounted one for several years and the birds love it. We unplug it when the weather is above freezing, as we live in Maryland.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This was a gift to my brother who stated that soon after the birdbath was attached to his porch, a mockingbird appeared that had not been there for some weeks. He was thrilled!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have 2 of these - one for the deck and one for the ground in a flower bed. The birds are really fun to watch, especially when it's so cold, and they can't find any water otherwise. Only complaint would be that this is my second one for the deck - the first one conked out after 2 seasons.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
The power cord is very short and the birdbath does not heat up.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We have the heated birdbath attached to our deck rail to attract the birds. We were very pleased to see that even with over a week of nighttime temperatures at 0º water continues to remain warm and melts the snow falling into it.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
unfortunately ground is frozen here in Michigan so propped up in a bench but only 5 degrees last night and water still thawed and ready for birds.
Unfortunately now on sale, so paid higher price a couple weeks ago :(

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I really love this bird bath! I wondered if the birds would use it and I didn't have to wonder to long. Within an hour, I had birds, squirrels, cats, and chipmunks drinking out of it. I also saw a grateful bird taking a bath while there was snow flurries!

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Unfortunately it cannot be attached to my father's deck due to the thick top railing he has, so he has to set it on a patio table. Otherwise it's good, but the water evaporates very quickly, so it needs frequent filling.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Gentlemen:
Last year, I purchased a Deck Mounted Heated Birdbath for my husband. It was one of the nicest & most practical gifts ever.
It was so easy to install on the railing of the back deck, ran the outlet along the under edge of the deck & voila. What could be easier!
Now no more slipping & sliding the first thing every morning, to remove the ice that has formed overnight in our little home-made birdbath on the railing.
We unplug it when it warms up comes spring & it is used all spring, summer & fall without power.
Not only is it so very practical, it is a wonderful conservation piece. When entertaining on our back deck, our guest will always inquire "what is that thing?"
We can watch & enjoy our birds as we have our morning coffee. We love our Deck Mounted Heated Birdbath & so do ALL our birds.
The truth....there is just NOTHING that is negative about it.
Great product!

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I hope I received a defective one. Am returning. the water is freezing and it isn't even heavy duty winter yet. I have it plugged in with all the specifications. The birds and squirrels really use it.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
It gets really cold and lots of snow in Door County, and we both love to feed the birds and get great joy in watching them all year. today there were 26 birds at the feeder and they were waiting in line for the out door bird bath. Our cat and dog also love to drink out of there when they go out in the yard and we feed two little red squirrels and they also enjoy it.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I love to feed and water my birds and squirrels but the winter makes it tough. I finally found your heated bird bath. I set it out in my front garden before it started getting cold so they could get used to it. Now that the temperature has dropped to below 32, I could finally test this birdbath. The water has not frozen and the birds and squirrels come drink from it. They are very happy too!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Hard to change the water. Have to take it down to do so. Birds do like it.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We fastened it to the front porch railing beside the birdfeeders. It's so easy to clean and fill. Haven't found anything that I DON'T like about it so far.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I set the bath up on my picnic table on my back porch. The birds didn't show up. So I placed some branches that had blown down over the top of the bath and spread some sunflower seeds around and started seeing many birds drinking in it. Even with snow all around it. It was so enjoyable to watch them on a cold winter day!!

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We set the heated birdbath up on our back deck (it is only one step up from the lawn!) just as a cold winter was setting in. That way, we had good views of all the bird/animal visitors who drank from it and bathed in it as the winter progressed. A pan of all purpose sunflower/bird seed was nearby... and we kept it continually filled along with the hanging feeders in our trees. What a riot of activity! Birds of all shapes and sizes... squirrels and bunnies... everybody enjoyed and appreciated the special accommodations! And we loved watching them all. When spring came and the raccoons started coming at night to chow down and then wash their paws in the birdbath...things got messy (and noisy!)... and it was time to pack it up. We'll love using it again when winter arrives again this year.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I feel this product is overpriced for the value received.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I never thought about where birds get their water in the winter. I live in the North East and we do have periods of time with no melting. I bought this as a Christmas present for my wintering birds. I then bought it as a present for my bird loving friends!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I actually purchased this birdbath to use as an outdoor water supply for a family of 5-6 outdoor cats and I wanted a dish that offered good size and most importantly kept water form freezing in the winter months. This product has worked out great.
The only con I have is that the stand itself is beginning to oxidize as it's been outside all winter and spring, but it hasn't presented a problem yet. (My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5)

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Perfect solution for adding water source to rail of deck for birds throughout the winter and into spring.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I had always heard it was good to keep water out for birds during the winter; so I purchased the heated birdbath. The birds absolutely love it! When we had 4 feet of snow on the ground, they had fresh water. We leave it up year round; but don't plug the heater in during the summer. It is a great product.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
My parents have fastened it to their deck right under their kitchen window. The birds absolutely love it and they enjoy watching them!

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
heavy duty THICK rubber plastic all weather bath/dish. REAL steel construction: dish holder/poles that connect to one another. so solidly constructed/designed it holds it own weight (and one portly raccoon) when filled with water. Black bird bath dish looked gaping hole bottomless- added a clam shell/3 white pebbles and the party began. electrical taped power cords together for all weather seal. heavy duty, short, outside/all weather type power cord come from bottom of dish. dish holds more water than it looks! thermostat senses/does work perfectly, watch water level- some water evaporation on coldest days. a true life saver for all critters/birds in MA weather. right now its currently being used as fledging/squirrel/raccoon kiddie pool (its next to a plastic picnic table we use for feeding tray). I believe if the groundhog could get a boost up he would enjoy this bird bath also...
bath dish washes out with quick ease by flipping dish on side- up and some what out of the frame (sits deep in frame). well worth the $/construction/material/design was actually well thought out. I have taken many "national geographic" quality/style pictures with this bird bath. I am extremely glad I bought this, they just don't make 'em like this any more, this will last for many years.

Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This product works great in our cold winters. The water stays available for the birds. I am using it now in the summer umplugged but it does not hold enough water so I am looking for one just for summer.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Worked well all winter. The birds still use it in the summer, I just keep it unplugged. Not the most stylish item, but practical and does what it is designed for.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This bird bath is easy to install in the winter and put away in the spring. Attaches to a deck rail so birds are easily visiable from the house.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Just plug it in and the birds seem to find and enjoy it in the middle of winter. Would recommend to anyone wanting a heated winter birdbath. Also easy to clean.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Enjoyed watching the birds in winter here in Idaho!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
This was for my husband. He loves it! Very easy to install. Worked beautifully all winter even in the coldest of days. The birds (and squirrels) are constant visitors. A real pleasure to watch the birds enjoy the water.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I used this birdbath all winter. The birds loved it and used it every day. I only had to crack ice off the rim during the most extreme cold, otherwise it stayed ice free. I'd buy this product again and recommend it to anyone who loves birds and feeds them during the winter.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
Works great to attract birds in the winter.
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
We use the heated bird bath during the winter and are very happy with it. We notice that we have more birds now that we have included it - it really makes the winter time more pleasant when you have little visitors!
Comments about Heated Birdbath:
I have used this product for over a year now. I have not only birds, but squirrels and rabbits that benefit from the water. It really does work during the winter months. Just follow directions, and it will last all season long. I like the depth of it also.
