Comments about AquaScale:
I cannot move the scale from one hanging tomato plant to another because of the weight of the plants and the poor design of the scale.
Comments about AquaScale:
This was horrible and I am returning it. Not only does it not work, it doesn't stand up to a few days outside.
Comments about AquaScale:
Impossible to comment, except to report that the scale I received is not calibrated correctly. The null (zero weight) position is straight up (at the edge between too much water and the tomato images. I did order a second scale with my replacement. I will be using them with two "revolution" planters. Was planning to switch the scale back & forth, but decided that it would be impractical. [...] quality control failed on this unit. Bruce M. Brown
Comments about AquaScale:
It broke on the third day of use, it is just cheap Chinese junk. I found a fish scale at[...] for $3.95 that works. I don't know if it would have helped or not.
Comments about AquaScale:
I used four of these with the revolution planters last year and loved them initially. However, they all broke long before the season was over. Perhaps they would work well with planters that did not weigh as much.
Comments about AquaScale:
Ordered a double edge hook so could attach to middle of poles already in place but misread the size of the hooks as inches not feet. Am still looking for much shorter replacement hooks curved at both ends which will allow me to use this product anywhere. Have ended up using the thick twist tie product in meantime. Living in Phx, AZ I was excited to see a product which offers all the convenience along with water conservation as this one does.
Comments about AquaScale:
The whole "growing in a bag" concept was new to me. This little device takes the guesswork out of when to water and how much. Useful and accurate, it is a welcome addition to my hanging garden equipment.
Comments about AquaScale:
I find the Aqua scale works very well. It takes the guess work out of when to water your plant. However, the construction of the dial is somewhat lacking. I have already broken one. A little heavier plastic construction would be a good idea.
Comments about AquaScale:
I have tried changing the calibration of these units to no avail. Regardless of how much water or how much you play with the calibration screw, this unit constantly reads "ADD WATER". I would like to warranty all 4 that I bought as I know they are defective.
Comments about AquaScale:
The first one I got as a gift from my daughters so I ordered another one when you had the 2 for 1 Topsy Turvy sale and it doesn't seem to work very good at all. [...]
Comments about AquaScale:
This item needs some way to adjust it. When I first used it the water was dripping out of the planter and the pointer was deep into the "needs water" section of the dial. As the tomato plant grew and got heavier the indication was closer to the real condition but never seemed very accurate.
Comments about AquaScale:
I am using it with the Revolutionary Tomato planters and regardless of how much water is inside it reads "add water". There isn't a way to calibrate the scale so I am at a loss as to what I might be doing wrong. Maybe a revised unit will be available next year
Comments about AquaScale:
I thought this was overkill and totally unnecessary but as the moisture strips "clog" this immediately alerted us to change the strip before we lost the plant. I would recommend it as an add on for the awesome upside down planters.
Comments about AquaScale:
Seems to hold and reads ok
Comments about AquaScale:
Use this product with my hanging tomato plants - does not seem to correctly reflect the moisture level in the hanging planter - it can be dripping and the indicator is edging toward 'needs water'.
Comments about AquaScale:
Sounded like a great idea. However, the gauge never registered correctly. It is easier to just look in the top water area to determine the watering needs,
Comments about AquaScale:
This item takes the guess work out of water my tomatos
Comments about AquaScale:
Gives you a realistic guide so you don't over-water under-water my tomato plants.
Comments about AquaScale:
This will be used yearly because it shows in an intent just how much water is needed for all my hanging tomatoes.
Comments about AquaScale:
The dial is not covered. The paper or sticker is starting to curl. The second one we ordered was missing the hanging loop to put the plant hanger through and is useless.

Comments about AquaScale:
This gadget works by weight. I put a bit less soil in my planter so that even when it is well watered, the device says it needs watering. So I don't use it. All in all, not very helpful to me.
Comments about AquaScale:
Not really worth the money.
Comments about AquaScale:
I suspect the calibration may depend on the type of soil you are using. Mine have not moved.
Comments about AquaScale:
I use this for suspending one of my GS Revolution tomato planters. Having it visible from a window allows me to check it daily and then water all the associated plants when necessary. But, it is not an exact indicator, only a good reminder.
Comments about AquaScale:
This item is a waste of money. The needle stays on "add water" all the time. After one week, I removed it.
Comments about AquaScale:
The AquaScale is Great. Instead of guessing if a plant has enough water, all I have to do is look at the scale! Great idea. Matter of fact, am thinking of ordering more for use on hanging baskets of flowers. Why not, whatever works and this works!
Comments about AquaScale:
Bought one of these for my upside down tomato hanger and water all plants at the same time. The season has just begun, this is first time use and so far I am happy with it. Don't see why it wouldn't work when summer arrives!
Comments about AquaScale:
The needle never moved into any of the descriptive areas. Glad I didn't spend too much!
Comments about AquaScale:
After following all directions very carefully, I placed the planter on the aqua scale and in the two weeks it has been hanging, it saids that my planter has the right amount of water, but the plants have died! Not that impressed.....
Comments about AquaScale:
I thought this guage was a great idea, but in reality it is only confusing. You will note in the picture it is divided into 4 sections or "zones". Three have easily understood words and one (the largest) has a picture of tomatoes. This pictured section is never referred to, and that is where my needle wants to rest! I have NO IDEA what that means!
Comments about AquaScale:
Reminds me when to water and how much. When you grow plants in hanging planters, they dry out fast, this should help me know how much and how often to water. I want my tomatoes to live!!!!!
Comments about AquaScale:
Works as advertised, but seems to need a lot of water before getting into the just right range. Which makes for a very heavy revolution planter, so you better make sure whatever your hanging them on can handle the weight. Otherwise you'll be buying new extra heavy duty hooks, as I was doing since my original hooks couldn't handle the load.
Comments about AquaScale:
It simply does not work. You pull down on the planter and the scale changes. You push up on the planter and the scale changes. It doesn't matter how much water is in it/or isn't in it. The spring is possibly too flexible?! It was a waste of money.
Comments about AquaScale:
Makes it much easier to keep up with watering needs for the upside down tomato planter. Didn't have this last year and think this is a great idea!
Comments about AquaScale:
I'm always afraid of under-watering my hanging plants, but with this gauge, I should be able to keep my veggies watered without drowning them.

Comments about AquaScale:
Was very easy to set up, but always shows "needs Water" - even when water is dripping from the plant. I have partially solved this problem by using ice cubs instead of water - melts slowly and delivers water at a slower pace. Plant seems to be thriving in spite of the AguaScale!

Comments about AquaScale:
Today is Day 33 after planting and connecting scale. This plant is full of water but as you can see from the pics, the scale is reading 0, even if I tug slightly on it which should at least move the needle. It's broke. I guess I'm on my own now.
