I purchased 1 last year to try/test & planted a few mixed Cannas. Ended up being the best Canna display in the garden! The pot held up well in the SoCal sun here in Sunset zone 18. I have bought 3 more since and they are for heirloom tomatoes this year. As long as I have room, I'll keep buying a few every year.

This is a great self-watering planter. Heavy duty but light weight enough to handle fairly easily. Very heavy when filled with water. Excellent planter for dwarf citrus that need consistent water supply. Only disadvantage is that the fill hole is on the side near the bottom and hard to access when the pot is put in the landscape. A fill tube from the top would be much easier to reach.
Comments about Florence Planter:
The pot is attractive and not overly ornate. The self-watering feature works very well. I did not run out of water all summer. Nor did the pot overflow (it doesn't have drainage holes). I have a fig tree in one and a cherry tree in the other. Both trees are thriving.

I travel for a living and have a weekend cabin at the lake. Unfortunately I have never been able to train my husband or children to notice when a plant needs watering! The self watering planters have allowed my yard & cabin to flourish in color. I buy a new planter or two every year, as I have replaced all my regular planters, no more burned out flowers when I return home!

We are hoping these will keep our tomatoes happy on our hot summer days this year out by our pool. If they work, we will be buying more!

Love this planter. I've had two of them for 3 or 4 years. Buying another, but very disappointed that there are no casters for it. My other two have wheels on the bottom, bought from Gardener's Supply which I love.BRING THEM BACK!

I bought 2 of these planters several years ago, but GS stopped carrying them. I've mainly used them for seasonal herb/vegetable growing since the only sunny space I have is my driveway. I've never had any problems with them (just put tomatoes in one yesterday). Glad to see they're back just in time for me to start gardening this summer--I'll need a couple more for my new deck.

Of course summer is just around the corner and the true test will come. I have planted tomatoes and expect them to do the best ever. So far, I have not even had to refill the reservoir. We need more products like this.
