Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I've had two of these trough planters for about 4 years now. They work great. I grow tomatoes in them. Big tomato plants suck a lot of water, so I hooked up a timer system that fills the reservoir automatically. Now I never have to water!
Make sure you get the casters for them. These babies are heavy!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It fit exactly where I had wanted it to be. Am hoping that it will hold up well, haven't had it long enough to make that decision. It looks great with flowers in it.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Under the dining room window where there is a large overhang and rain water is never available
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These planters are perfect for our west-facing front porch where plants get plenty of sun. The self-watering feature will go a long way in keeping my flowers hydrated during the worst of the summer months.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I wanted to use these for a patio vegetable garden to make the garden more accessible to my elderly parents. The troughs accomplished that but I personally find the simulated wood grain to be unattractive. I was expecting the exterior to be a smooth finish and would have preferred that.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Assembly instructions were explicit making assembly easy. Sturdy construction, looks great, if it lasts outside in a New England Winter, I'll be buying more...
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This planter looks very nice on my deck. Just big enough to grow a small garden. I added a trellis and my cucumbers are growing right up it. My plants are thriving in the perfect environment. A negative was the assembly part and the directions were not the best but I was able to eventually figure it out.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have purchased these products for family and friends and wanted one myself. Now I have one! I have lost so many flowers in the summer with the hot dry climate and drip that just didn't do a good job. I am hoping this works as well as I think it will all through the summer.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Live on the water. Don't have much land for planting flowers, especially with deer. Put four planters around my pool area overlooking water. Gives so much color to my area. The loden is a great green color and they seem like they will hold up well to weather.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Large capacity and self-watering feature is perfect for hot climates.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
What a great way to start a small garden on the deck!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Using the planters on my deck for cut flowers all summer long. Love the functionality since I don't have to worry if I can't water for a week, perhaps two. However, containers look too plasticy and not really attractive enough to place on a deck.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
doesn't look like plastic, yet won't rot!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Bought two, one leaks (Not suer why) but it doesn't matter as I'm going to use drip irrigation and not the built in tank to water. They were VERY easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow. I had no issues. If I need more I'll gladly buy more, and I recommend this product.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought four of these to use on my deck. I was impressed with the quality and capacity of the planters. The self-watering system doesn't really work, however. The water just drains out.

Perfect for a porch or patio. Be sure to get the casters!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Look nice on our deck, fit in well with the general scheme. Will be used for vegetables, right near the outdoor dining area.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
excellent
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Attached a full sheet of lattice to support a clematis for the end of our porch.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Tomato plants grew so well we had to secure them to our roof.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
tghis is excellent for high storm area, casters allow yiu to roll plant into protection area and save the 0plants from destruction. Good color. holds my patio tomatoes )3) , cjives, banna pepper plant Awesome growing bed, holds 3 cubic feet of potting soil.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Prior reviews about being difficult to assemble made me leery about ordering this product, but it snapped together easily for me.
The water level indicator is plus/minus. It fell out while I was assembling, so i just left it out. It is so hot on my front step, I have to completely soak the soil from above anyway, so this feature doesn't apply in my case.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This is very attractive in brown. Assembly took two of us 6 hours due to complex small pieces and directions. Assembly by one person would be a real challenge. GET THE CASTERS. [...] it is clear that it would be most difficult to move a planted trough without them. It's still unknown how the self watering feature will perform since the casters need to be added before planting and adding water. I have a knock-out rose, lamb's ears, clematis, blue lobelia and daisy, plus small basils to tuck in. I think it will be lovely.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
this is my first experience in self watering planters but so far so good. The watering wand that shows water level is difficult to understand but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I am using 2 new self watering planters and they are great, One has cucumber seeds and one has tomatoes. They look and perform well, the watering stem works well and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
90% of my yard is shade. The 10% that isn't is so close to my house that the termite guys have told me not to plant vegetables there- for fear the termite poison would be soaked up into the food. As this product is self contained - solves that problem completely. Also, since it's self watering I'm not out there every day re-filling it. I only put water in it once a week and the plants are getting bigger every day (saw the first buds on my tomato plant after only 9 days)!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I just ordered two more of these, but was disappointed to find that the "green" was now loden instead of forest -- doesn't match my first two. Also, watering tube covers don't shut tight; wish they were detached and didn't degrade in the sun. Otherwise the planters are great, sturdy, attractive, and big enough to grow a lot.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Haven't got it planted yet it is still cold here. They look nice. And will hold quite a bit. I am excited to get them into use. Stay tuned.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
My veggies are growing well. Outdoor palnts should do well also. Will add new container soon.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Got the first one. Loved It. Bought a second.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I will be growing lettuce & herbs in this container. Summers are hot here and I like the idea of the water reservior. The high planter also helps to keep rabbits from eating the contents.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Based on success with the self-watering kits we purchased this planter and couldn't be happier. It looks great on the front porch and is easy to care for. Assembly was a breeze. I do wish there had been more color options.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The only thing we didn't like about this planter is that the color was not the same as depicted in the catalog, even with knowing there is often a bit of a difference with printing. Would have liked a greener "loden."
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Transferral of 2 blueberry bushes. Roomy, attractive, and very difficult to assemble.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have always been very satisfied with the many products purchased from Gardener's Supply over the years. In particular, I purchased a self-watering flower box when they were first introduced. It was, and still is, wonderful in a very sunny, dry spot. I have recommended the self-watering containers to many friends. So I was extremely disappointed last year when the Terrazza planter failed miserably at keeping the soil moist under the same conditions as my other self-watering containers. Only one of my plants manage to prosper well. My husband, who is not a gardener, put it together carefully following the instructions and even calling to ask questions. Still, I have just removed all of the soil to make sure the wicking fabric was correctly installed and it was. I can only think that this small strip of wicking fabric could not possibly be adequate to keep so much soil moist, though I see many people have had success. I am thoroughly unhappy with this purchase, particularly given the cost. I will use it again this year but will have to treat it almost as I would any planter that requires frequent watering attention.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I think it is important to add that the boxes must be level. I tried to fill the resevoirs and the water was draining out the bottom and the resevoir did not look filled to the top. The first box was fine but the second box leaked.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought two Terrazza Troughs to go on our deck as we have limited garden space for vegetables. Putting it together was done by my hubby and he thought it was easy. However, when I followed the directions to fill the water reservoir, I experienced the same thing as other reviewers...it leaked out and the water gauge never did rise up, like it should (it's a thin black stick with a rounded top). I did this BEFORE I put in the soil, to test it. Also, checked after all the soil was put in place and it didn't budge then, either. I guess the only way to know that you've over watered is when it starts to leak out. So, be forewarned if you have a nice deck you don't want to get wet. Otherwise, I think it should be fine for vegetables. I'll report back in a month or so.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Be careful on getting the float assembly in the watering tube put together. Instructions don't cover this and I had thrown out the parts before I realized.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have three now and they look great on my deck. I can grow anything with no worry about weeds invading them. I can grow flowers in these that I can't grow in my beds. I plan to purchase a couple more for next summer.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Great for herbs and flowers. Trellis is nice. Water Supply pipe gets brittle with age and cracks. We are on our 4th planter this year.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
When I have a problem assembling something, I put aside for a little while. I will attempt again soon! It gives me more patience to wait! I'm just hoping I can do it, then attempt the second one purchased.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Purchased this for vegetables and because I already had several self-watering containers I was very satisfied with. The instructions were a bit lacking (for example, no info about the casters), but because I had read tips from other reviewers about assembly and my husband called GS, the assembly went well. However, the self watering mechanism did not work well at all, failing to wet the top 2-3 inches of soil. I called GS and they suggested watering from the top to help activate the wicking action, but that really didn't help. I plan to empty it soon to look for something that might explain the problem and try again because I've always found GS products to be excellent. In particular, the self watering products have been great. This trough was really a big disappointment this summer.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These Italian planters look great, although putting the thing together would be easier with two people at certain moments in the process. But the real test is what happens to it as it sits outside through the winter. So "stay tuned"...
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I grew bush cucumbers and tomatoes in them. Made it easier and had a great harvest!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This is our third season at our vacation townhouse condo on Bay Wetlands. The condo association would not allow a garden on the side of our end unit (they made us remove it). So this year we had several containers for flowers on the main floor deck. We have now made it neater by tranplanting to 3 of Gardners trough planters around the sides of the deck. We also have feeders on the deck that attract many varieties of birds and have large sea birds that fly by.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
roll easily even when full. good capacity. Great that they retain water to help thru those super hot days. would be nice if there was some way to level the units.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
When I filled it with water through the funnel it started leaking out the bottom. I was waiting for the ball to float. I added seven or eight gallons. Maybe too much. It's very attractive. Have it filled with caladiums and potato vine.

I am an avid container gardening nut. Over the years I have used many diff types of containers. These are simply the best I have used. Instead of planting 15 diff large pots, this year I planted 2 large and 2 small terrazza trough planters which are on wheels. It has been a dream taking care of these!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I live on the northeast side of the island of O'ahu, (Hawaii) 300 ft from the Pacific Ocean, so a green cloth has been put up to cut down on wind and salt air. With the five green planters that i had purchased last month I was able to start a garden area that i can service from a power wheelchair. If you read the instructions carefully and look at the arrows that are stamped on the parts then the planters are easy to assemble with a rubber mallet. If you level it prior to putting the dirt in but after you put the water in they become a superior growing place for plants. Coupled with the garden supply container growing mix, y plants are doing very well. In two weeks my cucumbers and summer squash are at least 5 inches high, my beets and broccoli are at least 2 inches high. Since gardening is part of my therapy, and since the success I am having, I highly recommend this product to others and am looking forward to purchasing more of these planters this fall. The only con that i can see is that the cap of the water tube does not click and shut easily.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I was unpleasantly surprised at how cheap and plastic they look. I guess I expected them to look much more like wood. They fit and work well in the location, and I'm hoping they will stand up to the weather, not need painting, etc. Hopefully the plants will grow to cover the troughs soon. Very spendy too.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I purchased two of these planters 3 years ago and they have been on my deck ever since. I practically fainted when I saw how expensive they were at the time but they look exactly the same now, after 3 years, as they did when they were new. So it ended up being cheaper than buying inexpensive planters that I would have to replace after 2 years! They are very sturdy, easy to move around with the casters, and the self-watering system is a definite plus.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The product is fine... but the instructions leave much to be desired. I bought two of them which came at different times. With the first, I didn't realize the thin little plastic stick provided was the actual "gauge", so it got thrown out. In the second delivery, I realized my mistake, but either I'm assembling it wrong or it just doesn't actually do a thing. No idea why. For the price you would think they would take the time to properly instruct you on how the gauge should actually work. Instead, I have a very fancy plant holder, which I could have bought locally for a lot less money.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I put this planter at our back patio off of our basement. This patio is not used very often since we have another deck off of the main floor that we use all the time. It's great that it has a water reservoir and I don't have to water it very often. The flowers look great and require very little maintenance on my part. When I put flowers out there in year's past in regular pots, due to my lack of watering, they were dead by mid July. I will be ordering another one of these self-watering trough planters!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Great planter, but manufacturer should use a better water level indicator. It's a joke. The only way to tell it's full is to use the overflow method. One also came missing a couple of the plugs for the holes in the plastic sides. Regardless, for the price it's a good buy.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
nice looking, reaily dresses up the place
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Great planter. Especially with the casters installed.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I am using the troughs to grow lettuce and greens in the shade during the summer. The troughs are working well for this but one of the parts was very difficult to snap into place. I can't speak to drainage yet as I haven't had them long enough and it's been quite dry here in NH. I may use them try to grow tomatoes under grow lights indoors in the winter. Their depth is good for that.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Avid veg. and Basil gardner
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
great
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
So far I only need to fill the planter once a week and that works into my busy schedule. The plants look better than any other potted plants I have put together before, infact my customers want to take the planter and plants home with them. I like that they have wheels so in the winter I can store them in the garage and make them last even longer.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We bought two to start with and were so happy with the ease of assembly and good looks, we bought four more to create a beautiful outdoor room on our patio. The only problem we've had with any of them is the fill tube--on two of the planters, the float ball got lost during assembly and now that feature doesn't work properly.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The planter was not easy to assemble. The end cornor caps did not fit securly and were quickly destroyed by my dog. Overall it looks great even without the end caps.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I love the self watering planter, I just didn't order enough of the soil, so I have ordered more soil and can't wait to get it to get my plants growing. It is beautiful on my patio though. No complaints so far.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The terrazza trough planter looks good and its reservoir supplied plenty of water to its plants for a week, even in warm, sunny weather.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We were very impressed with the quality of the trough. We use it to compliment our front porch. I particularly like the watering reservoir.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I found the planter easy to assemble and it holds plenty of dirt. It's plenty deep enough for my tomatoes. For the money I was hoping for something that didn't look so much like a cheap plastic planter. So far it is working great and my plants
look great in it though!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought three planters about 5 years ago. They were originally dark green and matched my shutters perfectly. I love the way they hold water etc. But they fade terribly even though the claim is that they won't fade even in the strongest sun. Mine are under a large awning and get only indirect light. In fact I plant hostas and impatiens in them. They began to fade within two years and now all three are faded and one is almost pale gray. They don't match the shutters anymore! I know most plastics fade but after paying [$] I didn't expect these to do so.
This one gets some morning sun - used to match

Love the looks, no problem assembling, however, I too did not get the water up to the fill line before it was coming out of the bottom! Will see how it fairs over the summer. Glad I got the casters, work well.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have used this planter on my deck along side the steps leading down from the house. Looks great
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I was about to chuck this thing in the woods while trying to put it together. The assembly made me so mad. I never thought it would take 2 hours to assemble this. The sides did not go together easily, and the inserting the bottom piece was nearly impossible. I gave up on it, and my dad somehow, finally, managed to wedge the bottom piece into place. Now that it's finally together, it looks great on the patio and holds a lot of plants (I have flowers in it). But next time I'll be looking for already assembled containers.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I used the planters as an extension of my garden on our patio. Many compliments have been recieved on how pretty it looks, they were expensive though. The true self-watering test will be when it gets hot.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We bought 2 of the large boxes plus extensions (and castors) for our deck. The boxes are extremely well-designed and come with good directions. We live in the foothills of Denver and eagerly await the passing of late winter weather to begin planting our wonderful boxes. The large size enables a much greater variety of plants than window boxes do.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I'm using it for a spot on the wall that drops off
and I have planted reed grass because it's by my waterfall.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have purchased approx 3 doz of these planters over
the last 8 years. They are on my roof terrace in nyc and hold evergreens and flowers. Negatives-the brown plastic fades, turning whitish, and the plastic watering spouts rot/disintegrate - this
is very disappointing as they were advertised as
non-fading and weather resistant. Capacity/design
is good.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Too early to make meaningful comments re some of the above survey questions. The planters were easy to assemble - generally, casters are casters so I have ignored the caster-related questions.
I am intrigued by the self-watering concept and can't wait to see if it works. If it ever gets warm enough around here to plant what I want to, I will pass on my assessment. Whether I would recommend these planters depends upon experience yet to be had. In the meantime, I will say "yes" because you seem like nice people.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The planters look great & seem to be made with a quality material. The only negative I experienced is that when I filled them with water it leaked out of the bottom and I never got the water to the fill line in the stem. So I'm not sure the self watering function actually works but they look good.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Great looking planter -- out shines others
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought these trough planters to go with square planters purchased a few years ago. They have held up very well even through winters. Using for small vegie and herb garden near my deck. They are attractive and deep enough for tomatoes. I love not having to move them indoors in winter.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought a white one some years back, and the filling tube deteriorated and broke apart after a year or so. While everything else has held up well, the fill tube/funnel became brittle and broke apart. It appears that these parts weren't UV-stabilized.
However, this was with a terraza planter bought some years back; the current model may or may not have addressed this issue.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The planter was quite a challenge to assemble. Needs four good strong hands and rubber hammer to get the sides to click into place. The bottom piece was very difficult to assemble as the plastic locks don't just click in. After all, the bottom leaks out from the water reservoir. That said, I love the design and being able to self water, move on the casters on my porch, and weather resit. I recommend but know that it is not so easy to assemble
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have half of my garden in these planters and that is the half that never needs to be sprayed for bugs. No more worrying about did I water enough!!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
My garden is tiny, yet attracts gophers and weeds like crazy. The soil is heavy, like clay, and the sun is relentless. This planter (and the special soil you sell) makes my few vegetable plants really happy and safe. However, it was very difficult to assemble, required two male neighbors and a mallet.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Sad that this product looks so good on my deck before it turned gray. I used cleaners, but nothing removed this gray areas and color from the box.
Plants do very well, but the planter takes away from the beautiful flowers.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We are using five of the troughs to edge our new patio. They are so versatile and easy to fill for even watering. I also use the window box version for the two windows on that side of the house. REALLY great!!! I've been using them for three years now.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Very good product. Very attractive. Serves as a long planter, devider and beautification piece. The new bronze color is very nice. We're on a golf course and it is a focal part of our landscape decor.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The water pour cap is deteriorates after 1 year outside. A definite product flaw. Makes keeping the water flow clean difficult.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This is a wonderful product and am buying another!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Easy to assemble. Looks great. Assume it will weather (or better said resist weathering) well.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The trough is the length of a standard sliding glass door and looks wonderful outside the window.
One person easily snapped it together and with the casters the planter is easy to move around even when fully planted.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Not too hard to assemble, arrived in a timely manner, they look great.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have this planter on my 3rd floor urban deck, and hope its self-watering system will be an asset during the dog days of summer. I chose it after much searching and price comparison, both in person and on the internet. Two complaints: (1) The water guage is a flimsy contraption, not up to the generally high standards of the rest of the product; (2) Because of the weight of the planter fully loaded and watered, you really MUST install casters on it during assembly and before filling. Requires eight casters, so that is an additional necessary though unadvertised cost.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I didn't get the promised casters, and assembly was a bit difficult, but the planter is sturdy and my parsely, fennel and other veggies are happily growing. Watering is a 'breeze'.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I purchased this, 2 extension kits, and 6 sets of wheels. It took a while to figure out what I needed, but an email to Gardeners clarified it.
The product is easy to assemble (I needed to bang a few pieces together, but not too diffcult). Instructions were a little hard to follow in the begining (especially when adding 2 extensions) but after studying the pictures and laying out the parts before assembly helped out a lot!
The planter is beautiful....and rolls (though don't know how much rolling I will be doing when full due to its lentgth (1 trough + 2 ext).
So far it looks great, and after filling it with a LOT of soil, plants look to be loving it.
One CON: one of the water indicators does not work, but I have the two others I can use as a guide.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
THese planters have transformed our deck! They are deep enough for larger plants. I have added a small trellis for climbing plants.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I am very pleased with the quality. I purchased two long planters, and found they were EASY to assemble ... just layout all the parts and read the instructions. We plan to use one for herbs and the other for colorful annuals.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I loved my planters, until they turned gray from mildew and I could not clean them. I even tried pressure washing them and scubbing with clorox. After 5 years outside, they look so bad. I called Gardners and they told me to paint them. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of buying plastic in the first place.
Yuck

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
My 10 year old son helped me assemble this in just 30 minutes. He was excited about planting his garden (he's growing spinach and brocoli) on our deck. We also planted herbs for my wife.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have been growing veggies in self-watering containers for several years now with great success and was looking to expand my garden and invest in a larger self-watering trough. I loved the look and large size of the Terrazza. (I can't see spending [$] for the small planter when for [$] you get twice the size. If the small Terrazza was $50 or $60 I'd be buying a matching set.)Interior planting dimensions of the large trough planter are 36-1/2" long x 13-5/8" wide x 12-1/2" deep (from top of trough to top of reservoir platform; soil needs to be kept 3" from top, leaving about 9-1/2" deep for planting, which should be deep enough for carrots). Assembly was fairly simple in concept, but tougher than I was expecting; a small rubber mallet helped pound some of the pieces together, especially the locking sides. [TIP: when pushing/pounding in the #6 Reservoir Strips, push/hammer down first, then push/hammer in.] Once put together this is a VERY sturdy container, and I have no plans to ever disassemble it.I was a little surprised that the water reservoir funnel was so loose sitting in the bottom platform (it doesn't snap in as far as I can see), but I'm sure it'll firm up once I put the soil in. (I just hope it doesn't get pulled out!)I ordered the casters, but apparently they're being shipped separately, so I'll have to wait before I can get planting since you need to put them on before you fill the container. I'm really excited at all the possibilities for planting fruits and veggies in my new container! If this one works out well, I plan to order a second one for just raspberries, and possibly a third for growing decorative bamboo.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
First time purchase of this product. Love the ease of moving the planters around. Perfect size for the area we have.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
My husband and I just finished assembling FIVE of these troughs. Our backs are broken, knees bruised and we lost use of our fingers. Honestly, though, some were easy and 1 was especially difficult. In fact, we couldn't quite get all the pieces together, soooooo we are hoping it will hold up when filled with water, dirt and flowers. I was concerned that the water gauge didn't work on the first one assembled and didn't want to assemble the others until I called Gardener's Supply. Then I read many,
many reviews with the same problem. I guess that's just a bad design in the product. But no one else sweated it, so I decided not to either. I'll just know when water starts running all over my deck, that it's full. : ))
I thought the instructions were great and especially liked how each piece was marked. Pretty fool proof. And, since I'm a recycling nut, I was to happy to see the recycle symbols on all the pieces.
I still have to put dirt in them and plant, but so far am very happy. Am looking forward to growing tomatoes this year. I planted tomatoes 4 times last year, and ALL of them were knocked down by squirrels or
raccoons. Hopefully, they won't bother these in the toughs.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
So easy to fill, holds lots of plants sits up off wood deck so doesnt effect or stain my deck Iwould definitely purchase another one.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Fully met my requirements for a deck herb garden. Very attractive appearance.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The second and third planters went together easier than the first one. Other than minor assembly difficulty, they are better than expected in both appearance and function.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I was impressed with the sturdiness of this planter when I put it together! It was going to be for flowers, but I think I will have tomatoes in it this year due to its nice deep size.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I use the window boxes for flowers, but with a small space found that the troughs are great for container vegetable gardening!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It was a bit hard to get the stiff plastic to lock together, but once it did, it is a sturdy planter.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Here I thought by others reviews, that the troughs would be difficult for a woman approching 60 to assemble, but they were very easy to put together. The difficult part was filling with 2+ two-cubic foot planter mix bags. Put 2 together including casters and planted with strawberries one day and completed the 3rd the next day. I would like to order more to expand my vegetable space.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Once these troughs are put together it is impossible to take them apart. We purchased the "L" shape add on and could not take the unit apart to install them. The water level indicators only work on one out of five units.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I always start strong with tending to my vegetable plants, but gradually become more careless. This planter is perfect for me because the plants continue to get water even when I neglect them. It's also a perfect size for the patio. I plan to purchase several more!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Seven of the 39" square, thirteen of the 17"x39" troughs in a desert rooftop garden. Very rugged, relatively easy to assemble with no tools and a little muscle (not an exercise for the frail...find a nephew or grandson), light though strong, supports a deep planting area, no real sign of wear after three years of use. Deep enough to require transplanting larger plants with a short shovel instead of a trowel. The corner holes reserved for provided finials can be used instead for dowels or stakes to tent fabric, support adjacent plants, etc. Be nice if they sold affordable add-on wood facings for the sides, for a more natural look, but you can make your own.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
From the product description:
"Unmatched Quality: Rigid construction fends off scuffs and scratches, and they won't fade"
Well, my green planters have definitely faded and worse, the parts fade differently. Unless the material has drastically changed, be prepared to paint them eventually. Also, the watering tubes will eventually disintegrate, the plastic will become so brittle as to fall apart. I complained about this the first time it happened and GS sent me another set for my 6 troughs and the same thing happened some time later. The tubes have now been removed and I treat the planters like all my others, they get drip irrigation.
However, all's said and done, it's STILL better than wood!

We have used this outside for 2 years. They hold up well, and with the self watering soil mix we had the best cucumbers ever.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I started my first vegetable garden on my new deck using this product and its extension. I've been very happy with the results. One side does drain, but I left out a little square portion while assembling so that may be my own fault. I love the convenience of the self-watering feature. The only thing I would tell new gardeners is that if you're growing plants that don't have very deep roots, you can use a shorter container and then not spend so much in soil.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This was a wonderful solution to a hot, sunny deck and plants drying out. I mixed flowers and veggies (tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, strawberries and basil) and had wonderful success. I have 3 boxes and next year I will be sure to spread things out more b/c everything got huge! The water gage is sensitive to coming apart, so I just made sure to fill up the water at least once a week...wow, before these boxes this is was a daily event!!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This container is deeper than most, so the roots of the plants have room to grow.

Though I have not owned the product that long, this product seems perfect for my outdoor cymbidians. The self watering feature takes care of my plants when we are out of town.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The assembly instructions for the extension kit were very poor and misleading. Parts were mislabeled and some were missing. The planters are OK, but still very poor assembly instructions. I returned the extension kit and exchanged it for a square planter instead. Self watering planters work as advertised, although in my dry climate they need frequent refills.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Just purchased this year so too soon to tell how it stands up to the weather--one of the reasons for purchasing it. I faced the assembly aspect with fear and trembling because of the reviews I had read. I followed the directions precisely and had little difficulty assembling most of the planter. It does take great "thumb power" to fit in place the pieces which secure the bottom tray, however. I am using it for my deck vegetable garden so the self watering function is not as critical as it would be for deeper rooted plants.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
In deer country, you either spend a lot on fencing or grow your veggies in protected spots. I have two of these planters on our deck, where they serve as my "truck garden." They take a little strength to assemble, but they're worth it.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Purchased 2 extension kits to make 1 seamless 10 footer out of a trough planter. unbelieveably sturdy, can be moved with optional casters, and assembly is easy and requires no tools, no screws, no nails (everything snaps into place and is incredibly tight and has a perfect fit). I wish I could upload pictures

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Assembly instructions were confusing, but it is attractive and very sturdy. In this hot dry corner of SoCal I worried about the soil staying moist; the water reservoir and wicking system are working wonderfully! I moved my tomatoes from a squirrel-plagued bed to these planters and they are booming.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I just finally got my terrazza planter (a 3x1: trough with a trough-extension on each side) set up properly, and because of a combination of my lack of experience and inadequate setup instructions, it took about 8 hours longer than it should have. So to save the next person some pain, here are some lessons I learned:
1) Be VERY careful when attaching the corner posts, to make sure you follow the instructions EXACTLY and attach them to the right spot the first time! If you do it wrong, they are nearly impossible to remove, even with the included removal tool. I accidentally placed a corner-post at the wrong location and it took several hours of futile pushing and pulling, and finally a little creative abuse with a power drill, to get the thing back off again)
2) BEFORE YOU PUT SOIL IN THE PLANTER, do the following:
2a) Make sure the little "foot screws" that are used for level adjustment are all extended about an inch from the bottom of the planter
2b) Put the planter in the exact position where you want it to be
2c) Remove the slotted reservoir-roof panel from the bottom of the planter, and fill up the reservoir trough with water until it is full.
2d) Adjust the foot screws until the water level on the various sides of the reservoir is as even as you can get it. (Exactly even might not be possible but you can get close) This is impossible to do after the dirt has been added, since you can't see the water at that point!
2e) For each water-level-meter, pull the meter out of the planter, hold the meter vertical, and scratch a horizontal line into the meter at the point the meter currently indicates. Then put the meter into position in the planter (if the water level isn't even, put it in the side where the water is deeper), and scratch another horizontal line into the meter where the indicator now rests. Now you have reasonable "low water" and "high water" marks. These will be helpful when watering, unlike the "MAX" sticker which appears to have no relation to reality. (on my planters, the planter would begin overflowing and leaking water everywhere before the indicator even rose to the bottom of the sticker, let alone the MAX line -- we had to remove all of the plants and the dirt to figure out what was going on!)
Since I just set up the planter today, I have yet to see how well the self-watering feature works... hopefully quite well, so that the pain and frustration of getting the planters set up will be justified. I'll post again in a few weeks (if possible) to report on how it went.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These are a little tricky to put together but if you REALLY follow the directions - you will be fine. They look nice and roll around great. I am growing Bush beans and they are doing well - I think next time I will put a little more dirt in - I left about 3 to 4 inches and I think I should have brought it up higher but still it all worked out.
One negative - the water level indicators have not worked from the beginning. I have to fill them up till I see water coming out of the overflow. This is not too big of a deal but you should be aware that the indicators will likely be an issue. I think it is a design issue because you have to add the water through the same spout that you use as the gauge.

I ordered 6 of these. I love them and can't believe how great the flowers grow in them. [...] they were packaged together with stapping bands. Other than that, I would order them again.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I used the troughs to consolidate many of my potted plants. Not only are they well constructed but with the casters they are easy to move around the patio. The troughs are large enough to hold 3 or 4 plants, and with the self-watering feature I don't have to guess anymore when it's watering time!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I just replaced the one I had for many years that stood up very well to Maine winters but finally faded too much. I plan on covering the new one this winter which means it should last me much longer.
I do wish it was designed to have the ability to raise the base half way for planting annuals and other short rooted plants. This would also make the planter much lighter and then I could bring it in for the winter.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I love these self-watering boxes. I've had mine now for 18 months and the only drawback is the portion of the watering tube that is above the surface became brittle and broke. However, that isn't really an issue for us, since we have threaded a automatic drip line down the tube and so we have no watering duites at all! All we have to do is enjoy are beautiful plants!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I think the planter is great and at a quality above other store brands. Buying anything through Gardener's is definitely the way to go. The planter really does what it says and the flowers I placed in it are never thirsty and look better than any other thing growing in the yard or on the deck. The only slight problem with it might be a rather flimsy design for the water measurer. Soil can get trapped in it if you accidentally pull it out, then you can't fix it unless you pull out everything you put in. You also had to be a little strong to assemble some of the planter. Other than those little things, it's great!

This product works well so far. I need to add water about once a week, 2 to 3 gallons. I have plants in 4 of them and a small vegetable garden in one. We are pleased with all 5 of them. The soil stays moist as long as there is water in the reservoir.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I've set the trough planter up in a shady part of my deck. I live in Chicago, and it gets REALLY hot here, and as I am often on the road for work I like knowing that my plants will be okay while I'm gone. It was moderately easy to set up; the parts are all really well-labeled, and my trouble was just getting things to fit a few times. I assembled them entirely by myself. My planter was green, and I really like the color; it blends in without looking "fake." I bought this for this year because I bought Gardeners.com self-watering window box-type planters two years and LOVED THEM. I figured it was time to branch out.I made the note below that I would recommend this to a friend[...]

I was concerned about buying the product because of previous reviews that said that it is difficult to assemble. I got it anyway, and I'm glad I did! I had no problem assembling it by myself in about an hour. I just followed the directions, which are clear and easy to read.
My tomatoes are flourishing, and I expect to harvest in a few weeks.
I'll order another one this fall so that I can get started earlier next spring.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I needed a spacious planter that is easy to move around my deck. This is even better than I expected. It is attractive and the self watering feature reduces the amount of time I am spending watering my tomatoes.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We are trying out the trough planter for the very first time and find it wonderful. The deck is the perfect place to expand our vegetable- growing ability, especially with the heavy deer population. The trough was easy to put together and looks great. It is full of plants that are very easy to maintain.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought three of the trough style planters to grow my herbs and lettuces because I have problems with rabbits. It took some strength to assemble the planters but they did come together. What I am a little dissapointed in is the water hose. I have filled it until water is leaking out of the bottom and yet the water gauge never moves. I have resorted to regularly watering them from above. I can't comment on whether or not the self watering system is working, but my plants are thriving. Many friends have seen them, loved them and want to order them.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Beautiful planters. Terrible instructions that missed some key steps. Once I did one planter, the rest were easier. I am looking forward to the self-watering feature, but not apparent how well it is working for the new transplants.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I wanted to have my herb garden close to the back door to both use it and care for it. Since herbs need good drainage and need to be watered often, this was the perfect solution in several ways. We plan to order more trough planters.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I've recently moved into a condo with a fenced in patio...(from a series of houses with HUGE yards) some of which I put in from scratch. I needed to have green things to look at, but wanted freedom from watering since my entire display is in pots. I have bamboo in them on the patio for screening...2 in the garage alcove..and recently purchased 3 more for the sidewalk along my garage...the trellis' have clematis vines, and they are garnering compliments daily. This year they went together VERY easily, so GS might have changed suppliers! I went from taking 30 min in year 1 to completing the set up in 10 min this year..I highly recommend them, but buy early in the season as they often run out by summer. A bonus is that the brown color matches the condo paint trim perfectly.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Living in a townhouse you have limited space.
These planters line the edge of our patio, and look great!!!
Self-watering concept is great, especially when you go away on weekends.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought two trough planters for my daughter. She found them easy to assemble and they appear to be made well. Only negative is that I didn't understand how many sets of casters to order so only one of the planters can be moved.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
First surprise--easy to put together.
Delighted to watch my plants prosper and actually produce strawberries and lettuce to date with prospects of tomatoes, cucmbers, and squash in the future. Our grandchildren have taken a keen interest in this garden process, and that alone is priceless.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Well designed and well constructed planter. I would definitely get them with the wheels, since moving these behemoths when filled, particularly on a deck, is not recommended. The wheels make a wonderful difference. I like the false bottom for water, and they were easy to put together. A bit pricy, but also well worth it.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It is attractive and seems to work well, but i wish they had an intermediate size between this size and the much smaller window box. My flowers look almost lost in it. Looks best with tall, or very bushy plants/flowers.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I like these planters. I put both together. One does leak the other doesn't. I purchased the castors and they work great.
I would buy more of these if I had more space.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
tried for years to grow tomatoes, but squirrels got to them first. So far no problems with critters, and I'm not constantly having to run out and water the plants. I also like the fact that I can add on for more growing space.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Great idea but the product needs to be designed with leak proof seams. Mine has failed after 1 year and water runs out as soon as I put it in. And really ask yourself are you going to go through the effort to take it apart and try to get a new one and then MAIL it back?
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have only had the trough planter a few weeks, but I am pleased so far. However, a friend said that it should be emptied and stored for the winter. I had not intended to do that and planned to put Holiday Greens in it. I wonder now whether it is 'cold hardy', since it would be very inconvenient to empty, move and store.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
My husband and I live in the suburbs and we have limited yard space with very large trees that keep the yard very shady. We needed a trough planter to take advantage of the few spaces that receive full sun. We are begining gardeners who just wanted to grow a few tomatoes and peppers. Well, I went wild on the tomatoes and now have 4 different heirloom varieties growing in the planters. We have been very satisfied with the planters so far. They assembled easily and hold tons of dirt. I would really recommend these to anyone.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We use two of these planters for growing vegetables on our deck. We also purchased the casters (a must have as these planters are quite heavy when filled with soil), and two trellises designed for them. Our neighbors complimented us by saying our deck looks like an up-scale resort!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Purchased two of the 39 x 18 planters. Instructions OK. However, the joining of the 4 sides was not a joy. The plastic tabs broke on most of them in joining. Surely there must be a better way of joining. The sides do hold, but the consternation in completing the construction leave much to be desired.
Stan- Ph.D. Engr. and handy.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It's a classy planter that makes the garden even more beautiful as well as keeping my flowers healthy and attractive.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I'm currently using this planter to raise letture for our kitchen table. This is a sturdy self-watering planter. Needed husband to click sides into place as hands were not strong enough. Very attractive and lettuce is growing well in it so far.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Loved the concept which is why I put up with having to contact the company 3 times to replace defective or missing parts(including replacement parts arriving with faults)! Finally got all the replacement parts, put them together and they look great.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I thought that this "terrazza" planter was made of some type of ceramic or clay-type material when I purchased it (I confused "terrazza" with "terazzo", a type of stone/cement material). It is plastic, which is in the description if I had read it more closely. To be fair, this makes it light weight when empty and easy to position. It looks good, from a distance you can't tell it is plastic. The assembly took about 45 minutes, but the intructions were pretty complicated and not particularly clear. Putting it together was about 50% skill and 50% luck. I managed to figure it out after a few false starts and now that it's done it looks good. It is a deep planter so I think it will take some time for the roots to grow down through the soil to reach the water reservior, so I doubt the self-watering feature will be functional for at least a month.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I needed to replace a rotten wood planter this planter appears to be better for outdoor use. The size is nice for me the depth could have been less but on average nice size. You will need some one with strong hands to help assemble the plastic strips to hold the bottom tray. Very hard to do I needed a hammer. After placing, filling with soil & flowers I then tryed to fill the water tube and all the water came out the bottom. I would not buy this product again it was miss leading.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I havr several of these troughs.
they are so convenient that you do not have to kneel on the ground to plant or harvest your vegetables.
love them
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I own several of these planters. I am an ace at putting them together now - after the first one - it's a breeze. Everyone who's seen them have commented on their attractive appearance and are completely surprised at my garden which is flourishing because of these planters.Watering is a breeze - just fill the tube.Mine are all on wheels - which is a MUST! I constantly move them because of the sun.You will be hooked so buy more than one - they are usually backordered.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It is attractive and was moderately easy to assemble. I was disappointed the reservoir doesn't fill from the side at the top of the reservoir like the other ones I have purchased from you. The top broke off the filler tube before I even got it assembled. That is a very flimsy design given how sturdy the rest of the container is. I can see that tube getting clogged and then how I am to fill the reservoir!!
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I am using these on my porch to grow vegetables. They really weren't that hard to put together and the directions were good. It wasn't totally clear where to insert the option casters but I figured it out (put them on the base and not on the corners). The only drawback is that when water them they do leak on the corners so I wouldn't use them inside. I'm hoping they won't stain my wood porch.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I needed something to separate the eating area from the outdoor cooking area and this works extremely well filled with black bamboo to provide height.

Ordered 2 as a gift for a friend, and buyer beware, unless you have someone VERY strong to assemble this, do not buy. It took me and my husband an hour of sweating to get the locking pieces onto these troughs. I was also disappointed that, at [$] a piece, they certainly did not appear to be high end in construction or durability, though we have not put it through the use test yet.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
First of all, I want to say that I love my two white terrazza planters. They are excellent in every way, and I am using them to grow veggies, which, so far, are very happy. The only con is putting them together, Don't think you'll have a relaxing time of it, laughing and sipping lemonade on a breezy afternoon. Things you'll need: light clothing(you'll be hot and sweaty),water, patience, strength, a magnifying glass to see the pictures with the instructions, lots of time, and some bandaids for after. I did break off a couple of small tabs when assembling the planters, tabs that hold them together, but there were enough other parts to hold them together so it didn't matter in the end. Anyway, now that they're assembled, I'm thrilled with them. I got the casters and can't imagine not having them because when full of soil, the planters are extremely heavy and I like being able to move them if I need to.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I'm using this on my deck to grow green beans and lettuce; plenty of room for several bean plants.
Assembly was a bit difficult, but I managed to put it all together by myself in under 2 hours.
My only complaint is that the Water Level Gauge just doesn't work (as alluded to in other reviews). The "float" has never reached the Max line, and I've put in several gallons of water. I hadn't really planned to rely too heavily on the self-watering aspect except when we're out of town, so I'm not overly disappointed.
I'd buy it again!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The planter is an attractive addition to our front sidewalk. Assembly instructions were for the wrong product, and the correct instructions didn't specify what to do with the wicking material. We have had this assembled for 2 weeks and like it so far, but am curious to see what happens to the standing water in the bottom of the planter with regard to microbial growth.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These planters fit nicely on my small patio and give me a chance to grow some colorful flowers in a space with no available soil otherwise.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I love the look of these planters but they are very difficult to assemble. I was able to get the square planter assembled after struggling with it but the trough is near impossible, at least as a one person job. Perhaps if I had a second set of hands I'd be more successful but I'm not sure it would be the save-all for the assembly. Once I get through the growing season, I'll make my decision on whether to recommend this product but at this time, I'm not sure I would.

I love my new trough planters. They are a bit time consuming to put together (according to my husband) but well worth it. My flowers have never look better. I have 1 in the shade, 1 in part sun and one in full sun. I check there levels about once a week. They are all doing great!! The brown color is a nice contrast to my brighter choice of flowers.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We live in a condominium and have a roof deck. We previously purchased 3 of these planters and use them for growing vegetables such as tomatoes and tomatillos. We wanted to expand the garden this year and looked at other options. We couldn't find anything better so we purchased two more. The only problem we had was that the filler spouts couldn't take the heat and fell apart after the first summer.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It took my husband and me two days to put this together. The wrong instructions were included in the box and we found that you had to forcefully fit pieces together with your hands and not a mallet as the plastic cracks and breaks. I could not have put this together without his strength.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
So far the planters are great. They were pretty easy to assemble. I was missing only one part but it was not critical to the functioning of the planter. I'm wondering how they will hold up to being outside year round in a full sun location. I have other planters by the same manufacturer and they've done great. Hopefully these will too.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This seems to be a great planter and looks like it will withstand many seasons of use. It is fairly easy to assemble, as long as you follow the directions carefully!!! I made a few mistakes at the beginning because I wasn't reading closely enough. Most were fixable, but one foot is on sideways because they lock into place, and I wasn't paying close enough attention.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have used the Self Watering Planters from Gardner's for several years now. They hold up though weather and look great every year. I plant, Tomatoes, All Varities of Peppers, green bean, potatoes, flowers, herbs, you name it, I pretty much have planted it. And I get a great return on my initial expense. Year after year, these planters if used for vegetable growing, will save you hundreds of dollars at the grocrey store.
I just got the White Terreza Trough Plnater. I bought 2. They are beautiful on my front porch and have received so many compliments on these new planters.
Gardners has the best supplies for all your needs, I have never not been happy with a purchase from Gardners.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I use these to grow vegetables in the greenhouse during the off season then wheel them outside during the summer -- works great. Have to replace the funnels every year or two, the sunlight and outdoors seem to cause them to crack and deteriorate (they cost $5 a piece). [...]

I truly like this planter.....it is a beautiful planter and I look forward to see my flowers displayed in it this summer.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I wanted simple planters for an extrmemly sunny area on my condo patio. I ddn't want to have to water every day. These planters hold a lot of plant material and are self watering.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This is a sturdy, long lasting and nice looking planter. For a number of years now, I have had two other trough sizes and two of the larger square shaped planters and they are still in great shape! Assembly is a little tricky at certain stages and I needed a hammer to "connect" a few joints that should have clicked into place, but other than that, a fine product.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I purchased two self-watering pots last year to try them out, and came back for many more this year! We live in a dry, windy area, and these planters saved my life (and water!) The first two held up beautifully, and although I haven't yet put the new ones to use, I have no doubt they will be just as good. The design of these box planters is wonderful and will be a welcome addition to our deck! Not only WOULD I recommend them to friends, I DID recommend them. I sent everyone the link, and many of them have purchased the planters as well.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought these so that I could bring my deep root vegetables plants up onto the deck away from raiding raccoons, deer and such. I also wanted a taller planter to serve as a perimeter around the deck as there is no railing and although the deck isn't very high off of the ground, I have small children. This works perfectly and the children love the idea of their vegetable garden. The self watering feature will make it harder for children to over/under water their vegetables. Very nice, classy decorative planter looks a little silly with vegetables, but very functional planter. They are a bit expensive, but worth it. I am saving up to buy more!

Put water in the reservoir fill tube ... waited a million years for the water to hit the "max level". Then noticed all the water spilling out from the base. Bought 2 of them and they both leaked -- filled with soil
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I am using my two trough planters to replace an old bench near my front door. Along with my plantings and the classic design of the planters, I will be adding color and more interest to the focal point of my home.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I needed a raised garden to avoid the massive roots on my property and one that was portable because of limited sun. I now have 20 of these, both trough and square, and they have become my "de facto" garden all over. They were so successful that I also bought 4 of the related "raised gardens" -- about 4-ft square of the same construction. They have all been productive well beyond anything I have planted directly in the grouund. Moreover, since I garden from a wheelchair, they make everything much easier because they are just the right height. Excellent in everyway -- except one: The filler pipe has a flimsy cap that won't stay closed, allowing dirt and debris to fall down and clog the pipe. Several of the caps have broken off. About half are useless since water no longer will go down them and I must use a garden hose to water the trough instead. Otherwise, construction is very, very sturdy. Assembly time is about 20-30 minutes (once you've done one, the rest go easily). Just be careful to affix the corner posts properly the first time: if you make a mistake, it is almost impossible to remove them and start over.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It's durable, attractive, holds lots of soil, so plants can grow deep.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
My in-laws bought me one of the Terrazza planters last year and I initially used it for growing strawberries. The strawberries did so well, I transplanted them to my garden. Since I wasn't having much luck with my lettuce in my garden, I tried planting seeds in the planter instead. Within a short time, the whole planter was loaded with lettuce and stayed that way for the rest of the season. Now I'd like another one for carrots and herbs...actually I'd like a whole bunch! My only complaint is the price - I'd have a yard full of them, especially the raised beds, if they didn't cost so much.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Sitting on a wall that gets direct sun so that I might have fresh veggies.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have had 2 of these planters for 2yrs.they work great for me on the side of the yard that I've never been able to grow any thing because of the big tree roots. They are very pretty and haven't had any problem with self watering also gives me lots of color on that side of the yard I never could have before I bought these love them.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The trough is very good looking and sturdy. I would like to order more, but it was too difficult to assemble. Also the sketches illustrating the directions were not large enough or clear enough to make out. We never figured out how to use the included wedge tool but instead used our own assortment of tools.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Bought 4 planters for vegetable garden in Las Vegas Nevada. Takes two people for easy assembly. Directions are fairly clear. Some things are just difficult to explain until you do it. After the first planter was put together, the others were a piece of cake. The resevoir is wonderful, water is very expensive here and with this system, none goes to waste. All my plants are growing nicely. Planters are attractive and would be great for flowers if I get tired of veggies. Purchased the castors with these and they roll beautifully all around my patio.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Its my first year trying the trough out but I like the looks as well as its holding capacity. Its tough to put together, but after that it seems very sturdy. I believe the tough part of putting together is kinda of tied to its sturdiness. I recommend the trough as first time user.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This product is beautiful and works great with the self-watering soil. The casters are a great addition (it would be nice if they came with though). Make sure that you adjust the legs to level the planter, if you don't use the casters, otherwise the water will run out one side.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Nice color (I ordered brown), and it blends in with my yard unobtrusively.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Just what we needed for a kitchen garden on a 2nd story deck out of reach of the deer. Each took abt. 30 minutes to assemble, although assembly was not difficult. I'm looking forward to the growing season with them to see how they perform.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
the only problem I had was in determining which way the wicks should be placed. It was the best way to grow things in 110 degreee heat. Everything stayed alive.
It is great.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This product is fabulous - I love growing my vegetables in them. Friends and family enjoy coming for dinner knowing that they are getting home grown/fresh off the vines food.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I was worried about assembling the planters after reading other reviews, but it was not a problem. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The pieces fit together tightly and the planter is very sturdy once complete.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I love these planters and the plants seem to be thriving. Being self watering, they are perfect for my deck as I don't have water running through onto and through the decking. It's only been a few weeks but so far so good. They are a little hard to put together, but my grandson mastered the trick quickly. Make sure you do it right the first time as they are hard to get apart. They hold a ton of water so don't need filling very often. I love the brown, and am sorry they are discontinued as I want them for the cement area by my driveway. White and green don't appeal to me.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought 6 brown trough planters (with casters) a few years ago. I had no trouble assembling them. They are on my deck against 8 foot high lattice walls. They have been through at least 4 Connecticut winters and the planters themselves have held up fine. The brown has faded but the deck is weathered wood and they are in keeping with the natural look. Maybe there is a cleaner that would restore their color but I haven’t found it.
The self-watering feature has never worked. Three planters are in full sun and three are in shade. After one summer the covers on the fill tubes in the sun crumbled to the touch. The covers on the fill tubes in the shade lasted a year longer. Since the self-watering never worked this doesn’t matter to me.
I bought the planters for their size and durability and have been happy with both. I strongly recommend the casters, the planters are large and heavy and very easy to move with the casters. Casters also provide a little more air circulation between the bottom of the planter and a wooden deck. I grow morning glories and annuals in the sunny ones and ferns and Hellebores in the shady ones.

Attractive design and just the size I needed to grow a vine in next to my garage. The added wheels make it easy to move and I certainly like the fact I do not have to worry about painting it to maintain the planters good looks! A bit difficult to assemble but I am very pleased with the results!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought two of these for my formal, raised bed, veggie/herb garden. These planters look great, and have required very little watering; but, the water level indicators don't work. The only way to be sure you've added enough water is to wait for the water to spill out the bottom.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have a stamped concrete yard and worry about plants drying out. This is great - provides constant watering in the California dry heat. Also looks great in my yard. I'm currently growing scarlet runner beans in it, with trellis sitting in it. I plan to use a lot more for other plants in the yard.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought 4 of these to flank my patio doors on my Cape Cod deck. They get about 8 hours of sun almost every day, and I virtually never have to water the plants. I bought them in white and they look great. I was afraid they may look rather cheap, but they don't they look as good as more expensive wooden ones.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We used this product with the trellis to hide our AC unit while still allowing good airflow and space against the house. We used three layers, a grouping of 5 clematis in back with a small forever pink hydrangea bush as the anchor plant and accent grass spilling out the front. This has been the perfect problem solver and the pretty trellis design also looks great before the plants can cover the trellis.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I ordered a second planter after my extreme satisfaction with the first. In one, I planted 2 tomato plants & harvested my first red tomato on July 15! In the other, I filled with flowers, foliage And a clematis on a small trellis. Stunning!
My only concern is with our frigid winters in Michigan. One year, I emptied the planter completely & stored it for the winter. This became a chore & the next winter it was left to the elements. When Spring planting time came I cracked the top to the water fill tube. I think that this became brittle due to the cold.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Love the planters, snapped one part together wrong and had trouble taking apart, had to call customer service, who was very helpful and got me through it. Planning on buying additional planters. Overall have been very happy with all purchases from Gardeners Supply.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought two trough and one square planter in brown for the corner of my patio. They make a great place for my small herb garden and seem like they will hold up very well. They were easy to assemble and I love them! My only complaint is that they have discontinued some parts in the brown color, and I had wanted to make a corner unit with two troughs. However, placing the square planter in the corner and a trough off each end did work out nicely, although it was a more expensive option.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This self-watering trough is great, especially when I'm away from home for a time.
However, I can fill the 'water container' and the black indicator never comes to the top.
It's like filling a bottomless pit!
Is the indicator broken? What is the maximum amount of water this container will hold?

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have the trough planter in brown, with Terrazza trellis. I find the planter very attractive, and it's large enough that the plants I'm growing in it (a canna, two dahlias, and two hyacinth bean vines) are doing fabulously -- much better than the cannas and dahlias I planted in other pots. I'm having some trouble with the watering mechanism -- the floater is stuck more often than not, so I can't tell where the water level is. When I try to fill the water spout, water runs out of the bottom of the planter quickly, and I'm not sure whether this is because it's already full, or it's not working properly. So I'm soaking the soil once a week with a watering can, and my plants are flourishing.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Very difficult & time consuming to assemble to self-watering tray.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I used these planters for my vegetable garden this year. The reservoirs were great because I could fill them at night, and not worry about my tomatoes drying out during the day in the hot weather. My tomato plants are thriving, and I think having the extra water is making the difference.
The planters are a bit tough to put together. The instructions are fine, but you need a lot of muscle to pop the piece into place. After I completed the first one, the next couple were much easier to assemble. I found it best to assemble them on my driveway so that I had the hard asphalt under the planter and then I could use my weight to pop the pieces in place.
I definitely plan to get more of these next year to expand my garden. They have worked out great.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These self-water planters are the best items that I have added to my patio/garden in years! They are easy to assemble, durable, attractive, and I have NEVER had such beautiful, care-free flowers in any planters, ever! Well worth the few extra dollars -- the results far outweigh the initial expense. Adding the casters makes them easy to move about for cleaning around, also.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I bought 4 of these for a roof-top vegetable garden. I needed something lightweight and these are. They have a self-watering feature, which is a reservoir underneath with a wick that is supposed to pull water up when the soil is too dry. I am dubious that this actually works; being in Phoenix, I think the dry air just sucked up any loose water. On one of them, whenever I filled the reservoir, it seemed to fill endlessly. I don't know where the water was going. I got the brown color, it looks a little cheap to me, although the price was not. Perhaps the white looks better. I had to use the leveling feet because my deck is slanted. These consist of plastic bolts that you unscrew at the desired height. The assembly was moderately difficult.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We purchased three trough planters with trellises to provide privacy to our patio. Morning glories and other annuals thrive in the ample planting space. A great solution and well worth the investment!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We use it at the side of the house on a patio. With colorful flowers it really brightens up that area and has held up well for two seasons now, including being left out all winter.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Working out great. It holds tomatoes, basil and parsley right outside my kitchen door on the sunny deck. I also purchased the large trellis to tie the tomatoes up.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Great system. I purchased the treslis for it. Easy to assemble. I planted climing roses to sheild my patio. They look nice and the self watering feature works great.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Extremely solid and well designed. Very easy to put together.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Poor directions for use
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I now have a raspberry and a strawberry plant in the planter. I originally planted seeds for carrots, broccoli and squash. The seedlings were transplanted to a raised bed. Better use would be as a planter for flowers or possibly herbs.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I've been adding these to my garden the last few years. I have plenty of space for "dirt gardening," but these are great for the porch and patio. I even had some lettuce self-seed from last year in one of these! At the moment, my dahlias are just about to open on the front porch, where I used a planter (double, with attached extension) to replace a wobbly porch railing.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I'm growing green beans . They are doing great and I would suggest them for anyone who is limited on growing space.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Having never had much success with tomato and pepper plants, my husband wanted to try gardening in the south facing front yard. I insisted that any front yard gardening be attractive. I bought this planter over my husband's misgivings, but he is now plotting places for even more planters. The tomato plant is over five feet tall and has already begun fruiting even though refilling the reservoir was the only action taken by our house sitter during the month we were away. The "control" pepper plants in regular pots are half the size of the pepper plant sharing the planter with the tomato. We also placed a couple of sweet basil plants in the corners and those are huge as well. Assembling the planter was a bit frustrating as the tab and slot tolerances are pretty tight. The water level gauge and fill line are also fairly useless. I put a couple of gallons of water in the fill tube every three or four days and check the overflow holes to see that I've completely topped off the reservoir. I wish we had purchased the trellis so that we would have a firmer support than the tomato cages. The loose "self watering planter" soil doesn't really make the strongest substrate for sinking the cage's "feet." All criticisms aside, we are buying more self watering planters for next year.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This was great until we had 3 days of steady rain - the reservoir filled up and so did the soil. I think that some sort of drainage feature higher up on the side would be helpful.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The wildflower seeds we planted in the trough, grew much faster, have remained hardier and are blooming much more profusely than the same seeds we planted in various other parts of our yard.
When adding water to it, however, my husband and I need to take turns because bending over for the necessary length of time tires our lower backs. We thought that if the end tubes were wider, they might allow water to reach the bottom more quickly.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Takes ALOT of dirt to fill this but it does keep the plants moist. We travel often and my ferns and other plants did not dry out once while we were away.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We use on an elevated platform. Space saving. Very good looking. Produces better looking vegetables than those we've grown in the ground.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I put the trough inside the back of my arbor & planted impatiens in it. My honeysuckle on the back of the arbor was getting too much water when I planted impatiens on the ground in front of it. This now works perfectly--I haven't had to water the impatiens once since I filled the planter with water and the honeysuckle has been free of mildew.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Able to contain a variety of vegetables and herbs right outside my kitchen where no plantable ground exits, only concrete patio. I purchased 1 trough and 2 square planters to start and will plan for some more. A little too deep for some vegetables so some hand watering needed. Recommend casters sold for this container as others slip out and too heavy to move when filled.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We were looking for something to dress up an area where we could not get anything to grow. The planter and extension give us 9 feet of growing space and once planted looks just as good as the pictures.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Better description of need to have wheels should be on site. The water meter does not work! Seems flimsy - maybe I am doing it wrong but there were not clear instructions as some appeared disassembled when I got it. A nice diagram and explantion would have helped.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These look perfect - I bought 5 of them to use all the way around my patio - they are the "hit" of our townhome neighborhood.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The Vegetables love these planters....and the owner loves not weeding! Guests inquire as to where we got the planters.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I have this planter on my patio. It was a little difficult to put together, but is a well made, rugged product. I love the fact that, with the rollers I got to go with it , I can move it around. It holds a lot of flowers and is very attractive. Unless it is very, very hot I only have to water once or twice a week, and I live in a hot climate.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
I placed mine at the top of my driveway. It was simple to put together. Takes a lot of planting soil but the results are great and my flowers are lovely. Best of all - I only have to water once a week.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
We use these planters to line the fence between our yard and our neighbor's in order to limit the areas where our dogs can dig under the fence. We put the planters to use just before we left for a two week trip. While away, I didn't have to worry about a close encounter between our dogs and the neighbor's dogs and when we returned all of plants in the troughs were healthy and thriving while the plants in our regular pots had all died or were on their way out. The one problem that I have had with them is that their water level indicators aren't a good judge for the actual water level in the bottom reservoir.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
It gets very hot on my back deck but I don't have to worry about that with this great planter
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These planters are taking the place of brick walls on the outside of our patio next to the driveway. With the trellis, and flowers, they create a unique entry to our walk out basement.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
Working with Developmentally Disabled Adults during the week we have an extensive Horticultural Therapy program. Since I am limited in time for weekend work these self-watering troughs have been a God-send. Give a good drink and fill the resevoir on Friday and no worries until Monday when we return. The only difficulty I had was installing the resevoir in the bottom of the trough. This took some strength and an extra person. Overall I have already recommended this to many gardeners.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
These planters are really nice - practical and attractive! The day after I set them up on my patio, my neighbors came over ask where I had gotten the great planters. I gave them your catalog and they ordered a set too! Would I recommend this product? Absolutely - and I did!

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
This planter looks great on our deck, and it holds a lot of plants. It was relatively easy to assemble.
We got the optional casters, which allowed us to move the planter easily when it was time to re-stain the deck. Also check out the trellis, which attaches to the planter--it is very attractive and we've received lots of compliments on it.
Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:

Comments about Terrazza Trough Planters:
The planter was not very difficult to put together, but you need to look at the diagram because the direction omit putting in the small square plastic plugs in the side walls
Don"t plan on moving it when it is filled with dirt it is very heavy
