We've tried many kinds of Japanese beetle traps and lures, and we have found the Catch-Can dramatically superior to all others. Its double-bait system (a floral and a pheromone lure) attracts up to five times as many beetles as single bait traps.

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

Over the years I have tried everything there was to get rid of Japaneses beetles until I found this product. I wasn't sure about another 'new' product that would 'really work' but sent away for it. When I received it I put it together(not hard to do) and was happy it was all plastic(hoping it would last longer than one season) and then opened the bait pack. It smelled just like my roses! I placed the bait in the slots and the rubber knobby in the hole provided and hung it out. To my amazement the beetles were buzzing by and heading towards my roses, so I thought. I followed them and they were heading to the Catch-Can! Both lures worked! I think I attracted every beetle in the neighborhood. Within a few days the trap was full and had to be emptied but some were still alive so I took the container to an open area in my yard to dump the container and hoped the live ones would return again. I was so pleased with this item that worked so well I ordered more! I have been using these for the last several years(I now have three) and place them around the yard. They are also good around my fruit trees where I discovered beetles eating my apple tree leaves. I also found birds eating the dead beetles and bringing them to feed their young(also have nest boxes for bluebirds) so now I empty the containers near the birdfeeders and the dead beetles become bird food! If you have a beetle problem this product WILL solve the problem.

Best Uses:

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

I have many different summer flowers that the Janapese Bettles just love to eat, with the Catch-Can Bettle trap we are able to catch many more bettles than with the traditional bettle traps. The Catch-Can trap is so easy to empty and there isn't any order from the dead beatles. We will purchase more of these Catch-Can traps for the other areas of our yard.

Sturdy Stand
By JessicaVerified Purchaser from Buffalo, New York on 8/5/2010
Pros:
Easy to Apply, Effective, Safe
Best Uses:
Bugs & Insects, Lawn Care
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

The metal stand for the Catch-Can with Bait was simple to place into the area we chose. The design for the hook could have been curved more so that the wind would not blow it off after a gusty thunderstorm as did happen after we hung the trap the first time.
Over all the height and quality of the steel are excellent. I would recommend this product for use with the Catch-Can with Bait.

Bottom Line:

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

Our yard was over run with Japanese Beetles and after purchasing Catch-Can with Bait the beetles were gone! The trap easily assembled with two steps. Beetles immediately were attracted to the bait and caught. We emptied the bottom part into a plastic bag when it was full and placed it back together.
The only difficult part was the placement of the bait into the slots on the yellow part on the top. I would recommend this product for use against Japanese Beetles.

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

We have six traps and they overfill up every day. A larger cannister could trap more. The beetle season is just getting started. Once the traps are full, they just attract the bugs to the plants!! We can't keep up with the constant emptying. Please sell a replacement larger cannister!!!!!

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

Works great, collects lots of japanese beetles. The only problem is they are still alive in the catch can and makes disposal difficult. IT would be nice if they died inside the collection container. That way, when throwing them away, they do not fly or walk out of the trash can.

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

This a great product. I had a terrible infestation of Japanese Beetles last year. With these traps I am seeing very few beetles on my plants and tons in the can. I put the half full cans in the freezer for 1/2 an hour and then feed the beetles to my ducks...Free Duck Food! My duck love them I think chickens would too. Hope you will get more replacement lures.

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

The traps really attract the bugs which is truly wonderful for my plants. This year Japanese beetles are over-running our place. These traps are great. The only downside is cleaning the traps and killing the bugs. They smell awful. My only wish is that the container was larger.

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

I have 1/2 acre of landscaping and put these at the perimeter. I have 3 of these along with 3 Bag-O-Bugs. I am catching 10 times as many beetles with these. I will be using only these next year. They are worth the extra expense and very low maintenance. No critters have touched them either.

I empty the traps 2-3 times a week and dump the bugs into a bucket of soapy water. There is not the decaying bug smell you get with the bags, therefore you attract more beetles. The bait lasts the entire 2-3 month season.

Thank you, thank you!

I've placed 2 of these and 2 of another kind of trap around my small acreage. I've got billions and billions of Japanese beetles all over my raspberries, roses, pussywillow, etc., and this traps far more than the other kind of trap. It is only one tool to fight these nasty beetles, but it is a great help.

This trap is the best product I've come cross for Japanese beetles -- the lure lasts all season and certainly keeps the beetles off the garden plants. This is so much superior to the alternative -bags. I collect hundreds of beetles every few days. I just dump them into a bucket of soapy water to make sure any ones that are still alive don't stay that way and then replace the container. My neighbors using the bags are not having nearly as much success keeping their garden beetle free.

Comments about Catch-Can with Bait:

Best thing I've ever found for Japanese Beetles! They used to rip my roses apart every summer. Now I just hang this in a nearby tree, and they flock to the trap instead of my roses. The only drawback is they are trapped live, and you must dispose of them (not for the squeamish). I empty mine in the fireplace (once the fire is going full boar).
