While I have always loved the 'candle in the window' look during winter, our house is 50yrs old, lacks outlets for candles. These *are* orangish, and much dimmer than incandescent electric candles, once you get accustomed to it, it's a nice difference. And the LEDs run cool, so my sisal blinds aren't at risk when down, each room gets a little nightlight effect overnight with no electric bill to match. We bought 12 - expensive, but I hope to use these for years!

I purchased four candle lights a Christmas present for my wife she was very happy with them. We put then on the window sills on Christmas day, and they came on every night, ran about 15 hr. a night, and were still burning bright when we took them down 20 days later. We bought these for each of our front windows to display during the holiday season. We liked that they were battery-operated, so no unsightly cords, and they are automatic, so no need to worry about turning them on/off every day/night. They also look nice up close. And we liked how you could either choose flicker or solid light (we prefer solid), unlike some others that only flicker. So we decided to keep them. But we were a little disappointed that they are not very bright and that the light is orange rather than white. I guess some people might consider that a good thing because while you and your kids are sleeping, the lights are not that bright in the windows and do not keep you up at night, while still looking nice from the outside. The other negative is that because they are automatic, sometimes during the day if it is overcast, they will automatically go on. Overall, these are pretty good, especially because of the convenience, but don't cast the most attractive light out there.

What a big improvement over the plug-in type! With the automatic on/off and no heat LEDs, I can now set them up and leave them alone all season, never worry about a fire hazard next to curtains. I've decorated with five(5) of these battery-operated candles for the past seven(7) Christmases. I am very pleased with them. When set to flicker -- from inside and outside the house -- these candles appear to be the real thing.

The footprint of each candle is small so they fit our narrow windowsills. I can even lower & raise our blinds with the candles on the windowsill. The candles come on at dusk and go off at dawn just as expected. With fresh batteries the candles will light your home for at least a month, if not two!

The candles do not require special storage or maintenance. After the holidays, I remove the batteries from the candles and store them in a plastic box with other holiday decorations. This box stays in our garage (in the Midwest) which suffers extremes of heat & cold. Before Christmas every year, I simply bring the candles in from storage and install fresh batteries.

I highly recommend these candles.

I bought multiples of these to illuminate windows in front of my home for Christmas. I love that they fit great between my plantation shutters and windows, are attractive, easy to install, and have no cords to mess with. However, the illumination is extremely poor. I have to turn them to the flicker function in order for them to be seen a little because the dim yellow bulb is hardly noticeable. A white bulb would have made a huge difference. Not a good buy based on that.

I can't believe there are no other reviews commenting on how orange these lights are. In person, they are straight up florescent orange. They look exactly like leftover Halloween decorations, and tacky ones at that. I thought maybe they'd look better once they were in my windows, but they actually looked worse - waay worse. The sheer curtains in my windows diffused the light these candles shed and from the street it appeared as though my living room was on fire (you may think I'm being funny, but oh, if you could have seen it, you wouldn't be laughing!)

These unfortunate candles are going right back where they came from. I regret that there's no other bulb color options because otherwise they seem well-made.

I use these year round. Only have to change the battery once a year. Usually at Christmas so they are the brightest. I've had these for over 7 years and although my toddler (at the time) broke 3 of them, the remaining ones still work as new. They get less brighter as the batteries wear down but the flickering is so realistic my neighbors thought i was burning real candles in my windows when i first put them up. I love these!! They do break if dropped on A hardwood floor and are not repairable. My son was touching one in the window, dropped on the floor and smashed. I was heartbroken because they are not cheap! I live in the northeast so I have darkness from 4:30pm until about 7:15. My set are 3 years old. Remember to take the batteries out each season and they will last a long time. We ordered 4 of these to replace some corded ones we'd purchased elsewhere that didn't fit the windows in our new home. The wide base with C-cell batteries makes for a stable setup, handy with a toddler in the house. Plus, since they're LED-lit, the batteries are still going strong even after 2 weeks of being on from dusk to dawn.

The only downside is that the photoresistor can be a little spotty - sometimes the candles don't turn on automatically once it's dark enough. When that happens, it's easy enough to switch the candle to the off position and then back to the "auto-on" mode, which gets it working properly. So, not 100% self-sufficient, but still the best we've tried overall.

I used to live in Virginia in a colonial house and the only Christmas lights allowed were window "candles". Most were electric and the cords were always a hassle, but I loved the subtleness and warmth of the single candle in each window. These are perfect. We needed an LED Battery Nite Lite. This Candle fill the need Ideally. We had hoped that the photo cell would operate away from the window but, it will not. So we just turn it off and on via the switch which works just fine. The LED provide just enough lite yet is not to bright as to be annoying.

I put one of these delightful candles in every window in our house, starting the week of Thanksgiving. I take the batteries out and put them away at the end of January. If you purchase good batteries, they last a long time and the candles flicker happily throughout the holiday season and beyond. The first year I bought enough for every window in our house. Last year I got more for our garage. The only drawback is the cost of the batteries needed to power so many candles. However, I stock up on batteries all year long so that I don't have the big expense all at once when the holidays roll around. Summed up, these are a very nice holiday accent. I set them to flicker and they lift my spirits.

I got this product for Holiday illumination of two windows we have in our den that are 10' off the floor, and out of the way of any electical connection. The batteries lasted from mid-December up to mid February, burning dusk to dawn. I really liked the amount of light they gave off.... just right.

These are great candles which you can put anywhere and don't have to worry about plugs etc. I buy batteries at the dollar store and they last for a long time. I put them in most of my windows and have them going all year around. They are certainly worth the price!

The batteries last about 7-8 months which was surprising - expected that they would go thru the batteries much faster. Such a warm and welcome sight when you come home at night to see the soft glow of candles in your windows. All of my neighbors have commented on how nice they look.

Safety first and ease of use second. No hot bulbs, it lights at dusk and goes off at dawn; batteries last 35+ days for the Christmas season. Only drawback is that it could be taller.

I bought one of these for each of my windows. In Anchorage AK we have dark long winters and the flickering light in our windows is a welcome for both us and our visitors to come home to. I used re-chargeable batteries and these lasted all winter long on one charge from October to April. (yes our winters and darkness last that long!)

I was pleased to find these, an improvement over the ones you have to turn on and off, and LED light is bright enough to show up from the street. Has a nice little attachment that holds them on the windowsill.
