Place this unique rope candle on the mantel and every guest is sure to admire it. But this is more than a conversation piece, it’s an entirely new and more practical kind of candle. Pillar candles are so big they burn only a fraction of the wax — the rest is wasted. This rope candle burns all the wax, so there’s no waste and very little dripping.     This is a nice, small burning candle; however, we wanted to order the larger one (more attractively substantial in size) for a friend. The larger one is no longer offered, so we settled for this smaller one. It's too small. I'm disappointed that the larger one is no longer carried. I won't order the small one again, and will try to find another distributor for the larger one.

    The candle looks great. It burns fast and the rope is hard to move up. I thought the rope would move on its own, but you have to move it 3 inches each time. SO, I wouldn't buy it to burn it, but it is a really nice decoration. I still love it.

    This is terrible. You have to adjust the rope through the holder and when it burns down it goes out. After it's cooled you adjust another 1-2 inches and repeat. It does not burn in a circle as expected from the photo. Don't waste your money unless it's just for looks.

    When I first saw it in the catalog, I thought the center holder turned, as the candle burned, thereby eliminating my having to move the "clip" as the candle burned down. The "clip" is difficult to move and realign with the candle. It's pretty, but very impractical. High maintenance, but safe because it burns out quickly.

    I loved the look of this candle, and the idea. Unfortunately, it didn't work well. I thought that the rope of wax would burn and the arm would swing slowly around, it doesn't. After you burn the half inch of candle, you have to pull more of the wax up into the vise. That is not as easy as it sounds and makes a mess out of the candle. I was lucky to have gotten a refill candle, because I had to throw out the first candle, clean the holder and then put the new candle in. That was easy enough to do and now I just have it on my mantle. It is quite pretty and people admire it, I just can't use it as an actual candle.

    Wax would need to be very warm to feed successfully through the hardware; a complex design that seemed like a good idea, but didn't really work out that well. Not even that attractive to look at--too much hardware and not enough candle. I didn't give them away as gifts as planned.
