The Gardener's Revolution Planter® is a fun and easy way to grow tomatoes. It's designed for healthy plant growth and easy maintenance, so you can get a blemish-free harvest anywhere in full sun — even on your deck or by the front door. The planter is sturdy and reusable, with a two-part, powder-coated steel cage and a woven poly liner that lets roots "breathe." The liner opens up for planting, then zips shut, so you won't injure the plant trying to push it through a hole. The planter hangs from our unique swivel hook that makes it a breeze to turn your plant. And now we've improved the top-down water delivery system to make it easier than ever to keep the plant properly watered. Even if you have a regular garden, you'll find that this revolutionary growing system is a fun way to get a picture-perfect harvest of delicious, homegrown tomatoes.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
My "over 80" parents couldn't manager their garden any longer and I thought this might be a way for them to still have fresh tomatoes without the hassle of a full blown garden. It looks promosing.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The zipper feature caused me to buy this instead of others. It should be easy to clean at the end of the growing season.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Some aspects of the assembly aren't explained in the instructions. There are three buttonhole-like slots at the top edges of the liners. They are where the hooks go for hanging. There are three locations on the top edge of the wire frame for the hooks and you have to orient the liners in the frame properly. It would make sense if the three locations for the hooks were 120 degrees apart so that you can line any three up, but they are not. Make sure you figure out where they go before you start filling the liner with dirt.
I've just assembled mine; no tomatoes yet, so I'll give a three star review for now.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I had several of the previous version of this planter. Purchased several of this version because it "opened" to make it easier to plant your plants.
So the theory is good. Planting tomatoes in each planter went fairly well.
The ISSUE that needs improvement is the clips that hold the wire cage together. They are NOT holding well! One clip has totally failed, after only 3 weeks. I've added two small "Zip" ties to each wire cage insure it holds.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Came with no directions so I found them on your website. The plastic snaps to put them together were hard to snap on. I could only get so much dirt in them before I had to zip them up and then trying to hold it one handed so I could finish filling them with dirt. Feeling very frustrated by the time I got done putting them together. I have never used anything like this before so the true test will be to see how well my tomato plants do.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I just finished assembling 2 planters. You folks need someone to check the quality control of the parts relative to their ability to be assembled as designed. The Chinese have not done their job and you don't seem to care,so....I had to bent a few parts, made new slits in the bag and finally got them hung. The wicking strips seem "puny", but time will tell. I hesitate to recommend these planters to a non-mechanical person. I will report any success later on.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Would help if replacement bags could be replaced in sets of 2 or 3 - with only the bag & watering system.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I put 4 of these on an upright stand and they work perfectly.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I purchased these for our small, postage stamp, size back yard. My husband put them on an ten foot high pool so that I could just barely see the water in the reservoir. We live in New Mexico and the drip system did not work for long. I ended up having to hand water the plants. The burlap bag started to deteriorate by September and the soil and roots were exposed. My tomatoes in the containers did much better than the ones in cages. A lot of my friends were interested in how these worked, I told them not to waste their money.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The revolution planters are easy to use, can be washed between uses and replacement parts are available at Gardener's Supply. We grow tomatoes, several kinds, and peppers in these planters with great success.
One pepper plant we started May, 2010 in the garden, moved to the greenhouse and got our last pepper last week! We are looking foreward to another great garden year.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I've had mine 3 years and the bag needs to be replaced. I don't use the wicking strip or reservoir. I water everyday using a watering wand because the pole they hang from is so tall. This works great for me and I have lots of tomatoes. No problem with mold.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have 4 of these planters and like any shortcut they have their problems.
On the plus side, they take up very little room, easy to check and control for insects and the end product is nice and clean...
The negatives are mostly just requiring some regular gardening chores... The watering system works well in the beginning but when the weather gets really hot you still end up watering every other day (they are wicked dry at that point) they also become somewhat root bound fairly early on in the season.
The only big negative and this is huge, they don't offer stand alone replacement liners. I was able to get two years out of the liners and I have no complaints there, but why should I have to buy a bunch of stuff I don't need just to get the liners?

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
When the Topsy Turvy's first came out I knew I had to try them. So I came to Gardner's Supply.
The plastic bags for the Topsy Turvy look so cheap and these canvas bags looked perfect. It's been three years since I first purchased The Gardener's Revolution Planter and I finally need to replace them. Only after being so lazy as to leave them out over the winter. (my own fault). The only down side to these planters is that you really do need to consider where you hang them for watering purposes. Over the side of a deck would be a great place with a plant hanger. I would definitely recommended these to anyone. Proof in the pudding is I'm back buying replacement bags.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This product is not well made and is over priced for the lack of quality, like most things made in China. The bags rot out the first season. The welds on the cage do not hold up.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is much better than older versions. It rotates which allows plants better/easier access to light. It has a good sized water container. Best of all, the liner zips open and closed allowing easy access for planting and removal of plants and planting medium at the end of the growing season.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I use this planter for tomatoes and, I must say, the plants love this set up! Since they are hanging, the tomatoes are not growing on the ground being infested with bugs and mold. Although it can be a bit of a challenge watering the plants (being a person of short stature) I love the way the planters have been designed! I hope these panters will be available to purchase for years to come!!!

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The two-piece clamshell design allows you to lay in your plants without stuffing them through a hole, like some others that also hang this way. no plant damage. If it's tomatoes you're planting, I'd suggest leaving about 6 to 8 inches of plant stem, not just the root ball, inside the container. Many tomatoe varieties will root from stems if in contact with soil; thereby increasing the root volume to support growth of bigger plants.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have tried other upside down growers and found the Revolution Planter easier to plant.
Easy to care for.
I planted four varieties of tomatoes and had a large abundance of tomatoes starting in July and lasting into October.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
8/18/2010
1.0
The problem with this product is watering. If you have it hanging somewhere that is not within easy reach of a hose it is very awkward to water it, since it will be at least 6 feet in the air and you have to angle the water into the container at the top. Also, I found that the water container is quite inefficient in getting water to the growing medium which dries out easily. And the water container itself is open at the top, so the water evaporates quickly.
All in all an interesting idea that doesn't quite work.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I think it's a sturdy product and I like the look over my cheaper tomato hanging plant holders but I have this tomato rot problem with the five of these I bought, but not with the two cheaper tomato hanging plant holders. I like that I don't have to water as frequently as the cheaper one's but if the tomatoes can't be eaten it's worthless.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Easy to assemble. Looks good. Could'nt find anything unappealing about it.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I haven't put the hangers up as it is late in the seaspn but am looking forward to next year.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I purchased a couple of Revolution Planters and its soil to try on my deck this year. I am disappointed with the results: I planted a tomato plant in each. The plants never looked healthy (their color was always on the brown-side) and each only produced 1 small tomato. (I planted the same variety of tomatoes in the garden and these were very prolific this year.)
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I can not give this a 5 yet as we haven't used it a full season. I haven't found any Con's other than maybe it was a bit heavy at first. Lesson learned add the water after you hang it up. LOL! Got to love those momentary lacks of thinking things through.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It is attractive enough to display in the front yard. We found the first one a bit difficult to assemble and plant but now that we know how we don't anticipate a problem with the next two. (Yes, we ordered two more for next summer!) It is easy to take care of, but we would pefer a liquid fertilizer we can add to the water reservoir over the granules, at least to use once the reservoir is in place.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I thought this would be a great product. The "pot" was so heavy that it pulled regular nails out of the wall and couldn't be used with an average hanging plant hook. The tomato plant started just fine, but then turned yellow and basically died. The volunteer tomato plants I transplanted to the same area in the regular dirt are doing great. Maybe I'll try cucumbers next year.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I thought my tomato plant was doing well. I have one for my tomato and one for a mini eggplant. The basket does not stay consistently moist throughout (the unit). I have had to change the "strips" at least 2x's this season. I left out the top tub for at least a week before replacing the strip, to make sure that the soil was getting thoroughly wet. I am dissapointed as I bought 2 @ full-price. My husband made a special hanging device to hold the weight. It's been time-consuming to ascertain that consistently moist soil and I am not always sure that works. I had recommended the planter to many friends who I hope will not be as unhappy as I have been.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I started off with the original revolution planter & thought it was great. I really did not have any problems planting my tomatoes.I put them through a paper towel core & just slid the core through the opening in the bag.I purchased the new type mid season & look forward to using it next year. It looks like its going to be even simplier than the original. I grew cherry & grape tomatoes this year & the plants were very healthy & produced alot of fruit. I also put plants in pots but they didn't do as well. The plants were not a full & strong & they produced less fruit.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I was a skeptic, but no more. I bought 4 and the plant stand. I planted them with plum tomatoes (determinate plants) and was rewarded with an excellent crop of large and tasty fruit. I am planning to add another plant stand and 4 more planters for next year. Yes, the filled planters are heavy, but that is the only minor problem I can think of. I solved it by filling the bags only part-way before moving them to the plant stand and finished filling them there.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We tried the other kind first and did not like it at all. These tomato planters work great. We took them inside the shed when the wind was bad and would have done damage to plants in the ground. You do not have to water every day and you can't over water them. I know I will be able to use more than one year which you can't do with others. I we see how many times I can reuse them.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It is attractive and well made. The other versions available at other stores do not last. The sun destroys the plastic on the other ones. The cage around this one makes it more durable as well as attractive.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We planted the tomato plant we purchased from you and it was a beautiful plant and had a good start. It was a late start planting it because of the weather. We had it on our deck hooked on a pole in a bucket of cement. I recommended it to 2 friends who purchased it for next year. I'm looking forward to planting it again next year.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
-Birds kept flipping out the plastic water container after they used it as a birdbath.
-I then placed a rock inside it -then it was filled with bird droppings
-The wicking system did not water appropriately and my plant did not do well. By the time I watered myself the plant was too stressed and died
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I've not had very good luck with this product. This is my second year using it for tomatos. Last year I got 2 tomatos, this year only 1.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought the tomato plants to go with the planter and the tomatoes did not get any bigger than cherry tomatoes. I planted them the last week in May because the first ones arrived and were not of good quality. I am just now starting to get ripe ones. The first 5 or 6 were rotten on the bottom and had to be thrown away. I would not recommend this product and I will not purchase again.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Tomatoes never did grow well for me upside down over two growing seasons. This year I put the water res. in the bottom and filled with light soil. Cucumbers are doing very well this way and I'll use again for trailing vegetables. Like any hanging basket, soil moisture must be monitored.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Seem to be much better than the ones in the store "as seen on TV". We have these hanging off the pergola on our deck. They look nice and don't detract from the view of the rest of the yard. The bags are only good for a couple of years (if that). It would be nice to be able to just replace the bag part. I don't recommend growing really large tomatoes (i.e. beefsteak) because the volume of soil doesn't really support enough nutrients to get a big tomato out of it and they tend to spoil if left too long on the vine (hoping they will get bigger). But the tomatoes are really delicious and so convenient!! No weeding or mulching. The little birds do like the reservoir in the top for bathing but that doesn't seem to hurt anything!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I kept the reservoir filled as needed, especially in this hot weather. I checked the dampness of the soil dailey to make sure that it was moist but not wet or drying out. I used miracle grow soil and added a diluted solution of tomato fertilizer to the reservoir twice over a three week period. It was wicking well and not to damp. these were well developed plants. they are almost completely dead. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper! My neighber bought the inexpencive variety @ his is doing well!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Bag cuts to hold up are in wrong place.Had to cut new holes to insure proper fit.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought 2 stands and 8 hanging baskets to increase the size of my small backyard garden. It has been an unmitigated disaster and expensive lesson. Despite following directions, all of my plants died last year without producing a single tomato. I live in the desert southwest and there was no way to keep the plants watered enough. I contacted Gardener's for support and was told to contact my local farm exchange (the exchange doesn't help home gardeners). I made some modifications to this year and thought I would do better. I added water retention granules to the soilless mix, replaced the cloth bags with plastic, discarded the wick idea and drilled holes in the water reservoirs. At first the tomatoes took off. Then one of the stands had a leg break off and fell over (I just bought these last year). The stand falling over broke off 3 of the 4 tomato plants where they emerged from the bottom of the basket. Once the temps hit 100+ it was impossible to keep the remaining planters watered enough and as with last year, everything is dead. I did much better growing tomatoes in the ground, and will do so next year.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We just moved to Florida from California and did not know the soil conditions so ordered these baskets and my tomato and pepper plants are doing wonderful. I did discovered that I did not need to water every day even though the plants get sun most of the day.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It's a great planter, but I wish I could get a replacement liner and replacement osmotic strips without having to buy an entire basket.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
There is so much space on the side of my garage that also gets lots of sun. These planters are perfect for growing tomatoes there. And you can't beat that sale price!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We assembled and planted according to instructions. Watered regularly but tomato vines didn't grow until late. What few tomatoes we got were very small and didn't ripe. We will not use them again next year. What a waste of time and money. Back to the in ground tomato where we got bushels!

I'll never go back to those neon green, plastic grow bags again! These planters drain well, are attractive and were easy to assembly and put he seedling in without damaging it.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
These planters are reusable unlike the other ones that you see on Tv.The ones on TV dry up and crumble after one growing season, these are reusable for many years and you can order parts for them if needed and the price of buy one get one free is great also these are made sow much better than the ones on TV that you can`t go wrong.they are top quality and very sterty!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I won't be using it until next spring, but the reason I chose this product is because I'm physically challenged due to my stroke and working with one hand and can't work bending or kneeling. I have been using another type of hanging container, but the side closure I hope will make it easier to pot.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Don't waste your time and money on this product. This is my 3rd year trying this product and each year the same problem, it shows that the water is full for days yet the plant is not receiving water. And the beautiful plant that looked so promising dies. Very poor design. I will not try next year because it is a waste of time, too heavy and disappoints midseason every time!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I used it as a planter for a cucumber plant I have one cucumber so far. It's not a good planter for this plant. Also bug collect in the watering container which should have a cover to prevent bird droppings and bugs and things from getting in the water. Plus the roots grew around and in the water wick.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I set up my planters on my patio with a 1/4" drip hose and 2gph emitter in the reservoir so I never have to refill. The tomato plants in the Revolution planter are growing much faster and producing more fruit than my in-ground plants. Since the plants are at eye level I've been able to catch tomato hornworms very early.
The only cons are that I had to throw a dunk in the reservoir to prevent mosquitoes from breeding, and that the neighborhood squirrels and birds consider the reservoirs their own personal drinking fountain and bath.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I like the new design with the open basket and zippered liner. It's much easier to plant the transplant. You can start with larger plants.
The new liner doesn't seem to be as thick as the previous however. One of mine is already tearing. Overall very pleased however.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is the second year for using these planters. The zipper was a good improvement however moisture evaporation through the fabric sides is too rapid. We did away with the resevoir as there aren't enough wicks to last the season and no replacement wicks are offered. We cover the soil surface with an inch or more of coconut coir to seal in water at the top. You do have to water daily in the heat of the summer. We save the wicks & resevoir for use during vacations - but still have someone checking on the garden.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought 2 of these and my tomatoes really seem to be doing well. I was all thumbs trying to get the first one together but it went smoother with the second. Even half full of soil I found them very heavy. Leaning over my bannister trying to hang them on the hook was a chore for me. I like the watering system but I didn't like having to take it out in order to add the fertilizer I use. All and all I can see me using it every year.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have purchased many items from Gardner's Supply and always been very satisfied. This is the first product that completely disappointed me. The wicking process simply does not work. As others have mentioned, I had to water under the resevoir despite cleaning the wick several times and replacing it. Eventually, I took the resevoir out and just watered every day. The plants were weak and had little fruit. I purchased two planters for this season and two cheaper Topsy Turvys, and hung all four on your plant stand. The Topsy Turvys did much better for less than half the price. I, too, would love a refund - especially seeing that you are now selling 2 for 1.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The wick watering system does not deliver enough water to the plant and eventually guits working at all. I followed all directions using correct soil and not adding any plant food to the water. I ended up removing the wicks and drilling holes in the bottom of the plastic resevoir and watering it that way.I also think you are better off using a regular determinate variety tomato rather than the bush type recommended in the directions. The bush type tended to grow up around the cage and didn't hang down far enough.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The side zipper allows for ease in planting and not damaging your plantsWorks excellent for Pepper plants also!!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I've had Revolution planters in the past, and wanted to try the two piece planter. what I've observed is that the two halves don't quite line up - the wire halves need to be offset slightly. Annoying, but not insurmountable. Also annoying is that the bag slots for the hangers don't align at all with the loops on the basket; I had to cut my own slits. That's just poor planning on the production of the bags. I have two, and the problem is the same with both - as opposed to the old style bag/basket, where the bag and basket slots lined up.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought the whole set-up, stand and four Revolution planters. I have used Gardeners Supply before and like their products. I have been very disappointed in this purchase. Half of my plants died, and so far I have gotten fewer tomatoes than I did last year with just plain inexpensive planters. I am really disappointed because I have so much money in such a bad product.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Using it for tomatoes. So far, the plants love it. I'm hoping to bring them inside at frost time to extend the harvest a bit. I was given two as a birthday gift, and bought 6 more for next year as they are working out so well.
Solid, strong, a bit heavy (+/- 40 pounds, so plan on a hefty hanger arrangement).

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Overall, I love the product. My tomatos, and even cucumbers and peppers, seem very happy growing in these containers. It's great that I don't have to water everyday, thanks to the wicking reservoirs. I did plant peppers in the top of one planter (I bought 4) rather than insert the reservoir. Family members have exclaimed about the beautiful display on the deck and have expressed interest in having their own planters.
After several attempts at assembling the cage, I discovered that no matter which way I hooked it together, the "button holes" in the liner just would not line up with the hooks. I ended up using twist-ties to secure the liner to the cage. Not a big problem at all, but frustrating when trying to assemble according to directions. I also had to use binder clips to hold the wicking strips to the reservoir. Make sure you are hanging your planter from a very sturdy bracket, as the planters get quite heavy!

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I currently have the older version. I chose to use the frayed bags for the 2nd year.
They still work as well as new but don't look that great. I did have my capillary pieces fail during a hot spell. I needed to change them in June. These were new in the spring. Overall does a nice job on my deck for tomatoes.
I'm anxious to try the split cages and zipper bags. Seems like they will be very user friendly. I purchased mine for next season and because of the price.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is the third year I've used these and I've now had three different designs (which just get better than the earlier ones). I like these planters for a lot of reasons. They are fun, the plants do not need to be staked and do fine in very high wind conditions, the fruit hangs higher than the dogs can reach, no pests, good for smaller spaces, etc. They are not completely perfect, but that's ok. Sometimes I do have to fiddle with the watering system. Some plants do better (tomatoes and bell peppers have done well) than others.
The green thing will only last 1 or two years in my climate, but replacements are available.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The zipper application has made a wonderful additionto the planter, making it fool proof for planting, successful every time.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
have mine hanging from the carport, and will be picking tomatoes into late fall despite frost, the location provides protection for the plants, which seem to love the container, very easy to use

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have two of the older design (one-piece, no zipper insert and one-piece cage) and two of the new design. The zipper added to the insert makes it MUCH easier to plant. However, I don't like how difficult it is to get the two-piece wire cage to hold its shape. My preference would be for the new, zippered insert, but the old one-piece wire cage.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I was excited about using this product for the first time this summer (2010). I bought 3 of them. I quickly discovered that not enough water wicks into the soil for the heat of the southern summer. I also think the wicking strip clogs after only a few days. I live in SC. I modified the black reservoir by poking holes in it and I put water in it once a day. The tomato plants are living and producing, but without this modification, they would not have survived.

We are growing tomatoes on the deck.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I used the Revolution Planter to grow some of the most beautiful tomatoes I've ever cultivated. Strong, sturdy, easy-to-assemble, this planter makes a perfect growing container for both hybrid and heirloom tomatoes. Just be careful to monitor soil moisture carefully as it can dry out fast in hotter climates.

This product will replace "Topsy Turvey" planter next year. At 80 plus years old we may have trouble getting this planter up on the hook, BUT we know that it is a better planter and will work for us. [...]
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It's too early to know how well it works or how well it will hold up.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It is too early to give a complete assesment since I bought late in the season, however, I did not want to wait until next year to try it so I dug up a tomato plant, small enough to plant but larger than it should be to try it!! So far it is performing great as of July 21. At this time I would recommend it but will let you know at the end of the season.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Much better than the plastic ones. Easier to put the plants in without damaging them. I have wrecked plants that were too large to push through the small openings on the bottoms of the plastic models. The cloth seems to hold up better. 2 weeks into the tomato season my plastic ones were already cracking and faded, not so with these.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I loved this planter so much that I bought one for my mother and one for my sister as Christmas presents. Compared to the awful green and white print of my first topsy-turvy planter, this looks like a beautiful plant hanging on my back porch, and it's loaded with tomatoes!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
My friend has two upside down planters and so I purchased one last winter to use this year. Unfortunately, we had higher than usual rainfall and it caused root rot because the soil could not dry out fast enough between downpours. It was a learning experience and so next year when I'm using 3 planters, I'll know to protect them from any torrential rain. :-)
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I purchased these early in the season, to give tomato plants a long growing season. We just started harvesting! I have two "trees" (8 plants), placed on south side of house. In this hot weather, we are watering every day!! But the plants are lush and huge!
The planting process is not difficult, but it takes patience to evenly distribute soil around roots. The detail to watch for -- as they grow, the plants try to grow up between the bag and the frame. We monitored them, but still three have matured against bag. Won't hurt anything, but don't hang down, either.
I've already purchased eight new bag/cage sets for next year. The metal "trees" they hang from are really nice to look at in the garden, surrounded by Fairy Roses! They stand very firm against 50 mile/hr. winds, also!
Wonderful purchase!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
So far so good, the tomatoes are very happy in the planter and growing well, we started late this year but I'm looking forward to seeing how things go next summer ...helps that we are having a hot summer for a change !

They are as easy to use as described. Our tomatoes are the best we have ever raised. They work so well we will use nothing else in the future.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
water reservoir a bit too small for South Florida outdoor use in warmer/summer months....Often need to refill reservoir twice daily, due to evaporation due to sun exposure...Pretty easy to use, though a bit cumbersome once filled with soil...

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I loved putting it together - a challenge but fun - I use a wicking system with my seedlings - in your seed starting sets - but it doesnt work with the tomatoes - I wonder whether I shouldnt just punch some holes in the container - when the plant gets pretty dry I take out the container and water directly, but it would be better to make the system work gradually - also, it is a bit of a downer to see the prices reduced so quickly - I love all your products and hope I can solve the watering problem with this (I have the whole thing with four bags and the stand).
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The wicks don't work all that well at transferring water to the plants. Our plants were drying out so my husband drilled holes in the reservoir to more freely allow the water to get to the plants.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have not actually used the product yet but am very impressed with the fact that it can be opened up, it should be a lot easier to plant in.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Much nicer than the comparable products out there.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Just started growing hanging tomatoes, and I'm glad I started with this. Much more attractive than the one advertised on TV, and more durable too. I am going to get more next year and increase my crop!

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Like other reviewers I found that the directions are inadequate as far as setting the planter up. After filling up the second of four planters up with soil and having the holes (i.e. liner and cage) not line up correctly, I realized that I had to spin the planter inside the cage to accomplish lining up the holes. Spinning the full planter inside the cage was somewhat cumbersome and required two people as it was quite heavy at that point.
My other complaints about this product are that the wicking material tends to get moldy and then the reservoir won't empty correctly. Although you get a few wicks for each planter you won't have enough for the growing season if you have to replace a prematurely failed wick. Also, it doesn't appear to me that you can buy just replacement wicks separately either.
I'm considerning trying to find something to cover the reservoir to see if that can prevent debris and insects from getting into the bowl. This should be incorporated into the design.
The tips section of the directions from the Gardener's Supply is good, however, there are a couple of things that should be revised. One being that when placing the wick the black side should face up. The directions say that it doesn't matter which side faces up but after speaking with a CS rep from the Gardener's Supply about this, I put mine in that way and it seemed to work much better.
So far, all four of my plants are doing quite well with abundant fruit on each. All in all, it's a good product but needs some tweaking.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We purchased two of these planters, including the soil and tomato plants. We followed directions to the letter and both plants died.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This was a birthday gift for my husband. He loved it. It was easy to assemble and the water scale makes it a "no guess" to add water. Our tomatoe plant looks great and has lots of tomatoes coming. What a great space saver too.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Not having to worry about whether plants are getting too much or not enough water is a great feature.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have wanted flowering vines in my yard and wanted to limit their growth. The upside planters also allow me to move any frost sensitive vines when necessary. I have transferred one gallon vines and seedlings to the planters. All continue to do well. One quart of water a day seems to be the right amount. The instruction challenge I found was that Figure 1 and 2 are not the same. The bar braces and bottom hooks are not pictured the same. The assembly could be improved if the buttonholes were grommets. I also found the hooks on the bottom of planter difficult to keep closed.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I know so many people that had success growing tomatoes upside down I decided to try it to free up some growing room in my raised beds. I was reluctant to spend so much so I bought some cheap ones at a dollar store. The plastic retained a lot of water and heat, so I decided to bite the bullet and buy these planters. I also bought the container mix to use in the planters. I transferred my tomato plants from the cheap planters to these, and they are doing better, and do have some blossoms on them.
Cons: (1)Although fairly easy to plant, the chains didn't line up with the holes in the fabric so the fabric isn't even around the cage. (When I tried making the fabric even all around, the chains weren't evenly spaced and the weight wasn't distributed equally.) (2)The open water container at the top works fantastic to keep the correct moisture level, however algae began to grow on the capillary strips almost immediately, followed shortly by mosquito larvae in the water.
Note: Once filled, they are very heavy. Make sure you have a very sturdy pole that is buried at least a foot deep, or plant hangers that are very strong and anchored into a sturdy wood structure.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I had last year's version, and really struggled w/getting it planted and assembled. I bought just the zippered bags this year, but used last year's cage. What I finally figured out was that it worked best to just get the plant positioned in the cage with the cage lying on its side, slip the bag around the plant and put some soil around it, zip up the bag, attach the hooks to the top and hang it on a fairly low hook and then add the rest of the soil, water well, add the reservoir system, and then move to the permanent location. It was a lot easier than last year's version, although, once planted, last year's worked just fine.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
When the weather got in the 90's, it didn't seem to soak up enough water to keep the plant from wilting. Other than that, so far - so good!

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I am a little bummed that I purchased these for full price, since now they are 1/2 off but that being said I am having great plant growth in the 4 bags I have. They are hanging on hangers which are attached to my house, formerly holding very large and heavy flower pots and get about 8 hours of hard core sun each day.
I am having a problem keeping the soil moist, and notice that the water holder doesn't empty very much and I am having to water underneath it directly to the soil.
The instructions were fairly easy to follow, but the whole reservoir/wicking strips are really difficult to use efficiently. I am considering taking out the reservoir since I am watering under it anyway.
As far as construction is concerned, I am a little worried that the clips that hold the cage together will not last that long and the holes in the green bags do not line up with the place to hook it to the cage. Since it doesn't line up, there is bunching on one side while the other sides are so tight it barely fits. I think i might take the hooks out of the bag and then reclip the hoooks to the cage.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I used the Revolution Planters last year for tomatoes. Really liked growing them this way and added another set of four for this year. The new version, with the zipper in the liner and two piece cage seemed like a good improvement. However, the cage was difficult to fit together. Also, the holes in the liner were not lined up to fit with the reinforced areas on the cage. Either have to cut new holes for the hooks or attach the hooks at an unreinforced area. I think the basic concept is good but it needed to be tested before hitting the market.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The water evaporates too quickly in the sun. I have to fill the well daily. There should be something over the reservoir to deter the rapid evaporation. Plus I paid [$] for each of the six planters I purchased less than a month ago. Now you're selling them 2 for [$]. Perhaps you will issue me a credit so that I can try some of your other products.Sincerely,

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
After some difficulty assembling it, (there is still a "pleat" that doesn't seem right),we inserted the tomato. All was well, it appeared to be thriving, it grew so well that the dog ate the first ripe tomato! And then the water just didn't seem to be getting through to the plant. Despite checking to make sure that the wick was properly placed, only two small damp spots were seen on the soil. We tried several adjustments as we watched the plant shrivel. Might try again, Any suggestions?

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I love the fact the bag zips which makes transplanting much easier. The only problem I see is the water reservior needs a cover to keep the bugs out of it. We cut a piece of window screen, fitted it over the bowl and held it with a few clothspins. All in all, I love them.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Seemed like a great product. Especially the wick design to keep the planter watered. Seemed like it would soak up the water in the reservoir every day in the heat. All of a sudden, I noticed the tomato plant wilted and drying up. There was plenty of water in the reservoir, but the wick could no longer soak up water because it was all moldy. I removed the reservoir and the moldy wick and don't use them anymore. Bad idea.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The structure is much nicer and stronger than the TV plastic lime green hangers. the dark green is gorgeous and blends in with the outdoors. the tomatoes are looking great and i have full trust that here in vt we will have great tomatoes with the concept of consistent water flow. But...nothing is free, there is always a but, filling the bowl every day is comparable to having just one cow. you have to be available everyday. i have 6 kids and VT-type neighbors that will drop in and help if we are off for more than a day. great product ..

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
One buttonhole didn't match up with the designated place on the frame so I had to make me own buttonhole in the correct spot. Luckily I sew so that wasn't a problem for me. It would be for others and would be easy for you to correct. It is easier to fill and hang if there are two peoples hands involved. I'm still learning how much water to add since sometimes it runs out the bottom.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The capillary strip didn't work, and my tomato dried out repeatedly. I finally took it out and punched holes in the reservoir to drip water into the plant. Tomato developed wilt and blossom end rot. Planter too heavy for regular plant hanger, so I had to improvise a hanger strong enough to support it. It's a pity, because the idea is great. Just didn't work for me.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It took a long time to put this together, and getting the automatic watering bowl into the container was MUCH more difficult than the instructions indicated. It was also difficult to fill and to add more soil. The exterior frame makes it difficult to get to the liner and especially to access the zipper. Now that I have finally got the thing working, the tomatoes are doing well.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
So far the plant is doing well. It has a tendency to bend upward and grow towards the sun so I'm not sure how it will fare as tomatoes come out. The item is somewhat flimsy and needs regular adjusting but it does what it says.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I live in a townhouse and don't have room for a garden. This is the perfect solution for me to be able to grow my own tomatoes. It comes with easy to follow direction. I have it handing on my house and find it attractive and very practical. Great product.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I did a side-by-side test between this and one of the upside-down tomato hangers that you see on TV. This one was easier to use, more attractive, and had a ton of tomatoes. The other one produced one sickly tomato and just about destroyed the seedling when I tried to get it in. I bought 3 more and the stand for next year! We love this product!

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We bought for 89-yr old mother, who is charmed. It was not easy to assemble, but we managed. Because it must hang high enough to allow the tomato plant room to grow, it is too high for her to easily fill the water resevoir. Fortunately, it seldom requires filling, so we can check when we are there. We will re-review later in the year, when there are tomatoes, and real heat!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I suggest the directions be reviewed. It took 2 of us to secure the plant with the chain and even at that the liner is not flush with the plant holder. Directions about placing water holder need to be rewritten plus putting the capillary strips in was VERY confusing. I don't know if I would recommend to a friend as this is the 1st yr trying it.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Because I have a small rooftop garden, the planters save precious space. I bought a local double support pole which was not sturdy enough and required shoring up with additional pole supports and paving stone support at the base. It required three people to completely set it up. I wish I had a photo to include but that would have increased our numbers to four. However, the results are terrific. You need to explain setting it up more realistically.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Poor design - open top attracts mosquitoes & other flying insects for nesting - the soil runs out from the bottom, the cheaper versions have a styrofoam retainer to prevent this - the run off stains my deck area - you need an extra pair of hands to put the planter together, otherwise the plant does not sit properly - sorry i bought four of these planters
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Very sturdy compared to similar products
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought this product for my grandmother. A few additional items I would have liked to see included with my purchase were a hanging hook and an adjustable rope/chain for hanging the plant. It would be much easier for my grandmother to tend to the plant if she could raise and lower the plant from her porch ceiling...
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Only slight problem when assembling:
Seems to be a right and a left half in assembly illustrations, but not in written instructions. And the three slots for the frame hooks do not match exactly.
That said, they are working handsomely for tomato plants, which are flourishing.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Enjoy picking tomatoes from standing position, less chance of bugs. This model with 2 wicks is an improvement over previous models.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
works great except you cant water it ever day
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Very durable.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Using this product for the first time in 2010, and, once we got it together it has worked very well - the tomato is growing well and even tho we've been deluged with rain, it seems to be draining well. Our in-ground plants are now each in their own little swimming pool!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We bought three of these hanging planters last year, and one more this year. I prefer the earlier design of both the planting bag and the support cage. The design "improvements" for this year actually made it harder to assemble. I do not like the plastic clips that hold the cage together - they are hard to clip into place, and will undoubtedly crack before the life span of the hanging support cage has timed out. While the zipper on the planting bag seems like it would be easier to lay the plant in on its side, I preferred just gently pulling the young plant in through the hole at the bottom. Zipping the whole thing and adding the dirt, then snapping the cage shut -- all while not spilling any soil-- too difficult for me!!
Also, while the design of last year's product was good, the durability of the planting bag leaves lots to be desired. When I re-assembled them for planting this year, the fabric tore easily, making it difficult to adjust in the cage. I spent the extra $$ on these planters because I thought they would last, but that has not proved to be the case, at least with the bags.
My recommendation comes with these complaints - it is "with reservations."

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
my first experience with using a "hanging tomatoe". My neighbor gave me a "topsy turvy" that I refused to use. The Gardeners supply tomatoe hanger is stronger, attractive(blends in well), holds dirt well etc....I recommend.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Way better than you buy at home centers
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I've used other hanging tomato planters but none have worked as well as the Revolution Planter. It is easy to assemble and manage. The only problem I have with it is keeping the wick moist in order to keep the watering reservoir in working fashion.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Was afraid the mosquitos would settle in the bucket-top but it empties each day, so that isn't a problem. This is also a con, since I still have to water each day. The good news is the tomato plant is doing great.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I'm not happy.
The planter wasn't easy to assemble; the plant kept sliding out the bottom opening .
And, now that my 2 planters are in place, the tomato plants are trying very hard to right themselves. They've put no energy into flower production, let alone bearing fruit. Maybe there are varieties more happy to hang? Or my plants were too well established when I hung them?
However, these planters do look a lot classier than the infomercial version.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought two of the new ones and was really disappointed with the new cage. Threw them away and used my old ones with the new bag and old cage. I would recommend the new planter bag but new metal basket is a waste of money.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I thought this would be the best improvement on the cheaper mass marketed upsidedown tomato bags, so I bought 2. But after losing both of my first plantings to the wind(they were knocked off the hooks by the wind) and then replanting and rehanging with more substantial screw eyes and with more wind protection only to have them wither and die overnight, I have given up. I'll probably put them in a garage sale or give them away. Theoretically they should be great...but not for me!Now that they are Buy 1 Get 1 Free, I'm really upset that I paid [$] per bag!!! YUK!!!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I did not like the way the liner fits into the cage, it is difficult to line up with the hook areas, especially when full of dirt. I do like that I can hang this on my back porch, which should keep the deer from eating the plant and fruit.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This item is easy to use, quality design should last. Being a not too great gardner and living in a rocky area, this has given me a better way to try to grow. Looks cute as well.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Hard to put together by yourself. I couldn't get the self-watering part to work right so I just removed it from the planter. Will have to wait and see how the tomatoes turn out.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I was very impressed with the quality of this 'topsy turvy'. Much better quality than the flimsy, vinyl ones that I've seen locally. Heavy duty 'canvas' / nylon bag with a side zipper for very easy planting, metal frame, chain, swivel & hook, all at less that $20.00 [...]. Item will no doubt last for years and is hosting a happy and healthy grape tomato plant as I type this.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We just put these together a few weeks ago. The tomato plants look great so far. They were a little awkward putting them together but after you got the first one it was pretty easy. If we get a lot of tomatoes it will be perfect because they look nice & are much easier to take care of.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I just planted my tomatoes today so I haven't seen how the capilary strips work yet. But these planters are sooooo much easier to use than the cheaper, plastic ones. And these are reuseable, unlike the others.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I love the design. The use of capillary strips to deliver water to roots in a gradual manner - roots remain hydrated - much better than in ground.
Easy to use. It is best to prepare it close to where it will hang because it gets a bit heavy.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
i REALLY LIKE THE ZIPPER THAT WAS ADDED TO THIS PRODUCT IT MAKES IT EVER SO EASY TO PLACE THE PLANT IN UPSIDE DOWN. GREAT REVISION! I plan to buy 4 more next year.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I hooked up a row of Revolution Planters to my sprinkler system - really the way to go as they get exact watering every morning.
Tomatoes are doing well - avoid skinny ones like Sweet Million - one broke off in the wind. Working well - Early Girly, Celebrity, Roma, Patio Princess.
Using 2 pepper plants per pot quite well. Lady Bell and Jalepeno.
Summer Squash is great - I already have 3" fruit.
I also have another variety of upside down planter. The problem with the other variety is that I can't get decent plants into it, as I started everything indoors and they got too big. The zippered Revolution Planter is definately the way to go. Come back in the fall and I'll tell you the yield.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I found this easy to assemble and like the fact that it's sturdier than others out there and re-useable. So far my cherry tomato plant is doing well & very healthy. Will see how it produces.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I got one for my daughter who does not garden but who loves tomatoes and has lots of sun. So far so good! All she has to do is make sure there is water in the reservoir. I also bought one for myself and it is fun to watch it grow.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
GREAT, the rabbits are not eating the plant.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
My tomato plant is growing very well in this container and I like the fact that it hangs. Works so much better than the cages I have used before. I did have a bit of a problem putting this all together and needed another pair of hands to get it assembled and hung.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is the 1st time I tried these planters & I placed them next to my raised garden on sturdy shepard's hooks ~ they were the ideal solution to adding 4 more veggie plants wihtout taking more ground space in the raised garden which was already becoming overcrowded. I can't wait to see the harvest!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It takes at least two people to assemble, and even then it does not seem as stable as the original.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It was a bit challenging to put it all together. The baskets kept popping open. But once it was together and hanging, they were fine. Our plants are growing rapidly and looking great! We'll have to wait to see how good the tomatoes are.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is an eperiment in growing "upside down" tomato plants. Sadly the one area to hang this does not have optimal sun and while the plant has doubled in size in 3 weeks a second plant in a pot and better sun has tripled in size and has small green tomatoes. The season will tell how successful this will be. Product is sturdy, easy to assemble but a bit heavy and draining the watering reservior after a heavy rain was a pain.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is a huge improvement on other hanging planters. It is easier to place the plant in the bag and correct watering is much simpler. I am throwing my old ones away!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
My husband and I are both 65, it took two of us to hang the planter. I am trying two planters out this year vs four plants in the ground to see which tomato plant produces the most. Will have results at the end of the growing season.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I found this most valuable as it regulates the watering and does not drain all over my tomatoes out the bottom hole. In the past this has caused deterioration of my plants. Light weight a plus. Clean design too!
I have only had this for 1 month so I cannot comment on longevity of this product just yet.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
So far I like the planters. They were very easy to assemble. The instructions were clear and everything got put together in no time. The only problem so far have been the buttonholes. On one bag they started to rip even before I got the tomato plant in! They should be reinforced with a grommet. My tomatoes are doing fine so far. They are growing nicely and I hope to harvest some nice tomatoes.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Was pleased when it arrived. Instructions were a little vague but was able to put it together with some help. So far it is working well. The capillary strips are a good idea and take the guess work out of watering. Make sure to use the planting medium suggested and also use the suggested tomato plants.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is my first year of growing tomatoes by this method. I am so impressed with the growth and ease of care. My tomatoes have outdone the ones that I planted in the ground already.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I don't have to bend.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I highly recommend this product because when you compare similar products on the market, this is a hands down winner. Very well built for several years of use. Excellent design features and performs as advertised. I bought two for my tomatoes plants this year. I am considering buying more for other plants I currently have in my traditional garden.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Easy to access and open. Makes putting the plant in a lot better than the other types that I've used.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Very detailed assembly instructions & VIDEO!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is a good product.
I just worry about having the whole vine hang by its stem. If the stem is damaged, I'll lose the whole plant.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Any visitors to my garden enjoy the attractiveness of this product. My brandywine tomato grows happily without stake or cage. It is too early now to fill the "Overall Rating". I have to wait until at the end of the season to conclude whether this product is really worth buying. Right now I just rate it 3 stars but it might change depending on the harvest.
The top reservoir seems useless. I replace it with some dwarf marygold. The photo was taken at a rainy day.

I found it not to diffcult to assemble, keeping the soil level high enough for the self watering to occur.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
planted best bush tomatoes and too soon to tell what is great about the product. Problem with the eye holes in the cloth as they did not align with the hooks...... on the frame
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
So far so good, right now my plants are in bloom, not tomatoes have set yet. The planters are fun and attractive, the birds have been using the water pans at top for a drink now and then which is also nice. The hardest thing was to hang these, I also got the wrought iron planter hanger in the catalog to go with, it took some assist to raise the filled planter up to the hanger. Also getting the bag to stay on the holder while hanging took a little fussing, once assembled though it looks fine and the plants are growing wonderfully, and the water system works great.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Love this planter so far, I've only had it a few weeks. Tomatoes are growing great!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
No assembly instructions included. First planting was trail and error. Second planting much easier. The zipper makes it much easier. Very well made. Should last for several seasons.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is the best upside-down planter I have seen or used. I bought one for myself and my mother. I love the fact that it is reusable. Everything about it is outstanding - the durability, the zipper bag, the reservoir (no more water pouring through the bag), and the easy way of planting the tomato. I have used other planters that were so difficult to plant that the tomato plant had a hard time recovering. With this planter, to just be able to lay the plant in is wonderful. No shock for the plant to recover from.
Thanks again for supplying a great product.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I just put it together a few days ago and I didn't think the instructions were very easy to follow. I like the reservoir idea but how to determine if it needs more water is very vague.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Awesome product. Our plants are thriving and growing by leaps and bounds. Thank you for such a wonderful product!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The idea they have for this is great but the kinks need to be worked out.
1 - the clips to hold the basket together are not sturdy & keep popping off. the green bag has holes so the hooks can go thru them to hook onto a certain area of the cage. Thats great but the holes are not spaced properly to meet the hooks in the right areas. in one of mine the bag ripped in the space that is meant for the hook

My elderly parents wanted home grown tomatoes without too much work.....I put Big Boy tomato plants in your Revolution Planters and so far they are taking off to beat the band! I am so pleased that I bought 4 more for myself to try beans, cucumber, eggplant and squash!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I purchased two of these planters this year, and here are my thoughts vs. last year's model:
Pro's - zipper on cloth enclosure, clips to hold wire cage together
Con's - soil moisture gauge missing (a great tool for beginners), split cage design: while necessary for the new zippered enclosure, it needs improvement (i.e. more clips, or find another way to keep the cage closed tight so that it looks more uniform).
Overall thoughts: still a great planter for tomatoes, and the new zippered design helps keep transplanted seedlings intact.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This product is well constructed and has the capacity to hold large fruit plants. I couldn't of bought a better upside down grower.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I got this product, hopefully, to prevent my basset hound from stealing all of the tomatoes off my plants. THE thing that is great, is the fact that it hangs. The downside...it is not that easy to put together, especially for one person...& it is monstrously heavy once planted, even before watering. I had to wait for someone to come and hang it on a high placed hook. The jury is still out as to whether it will be a success.

A couple of the planters and the 4-planter stand on the rooftop deck--very pleased with the result.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We take several vacations over the year. I was hoping that the gallon reservoir would last at least a week while we were gone. But even in humid Houston, the water reservoir is gone in 2 days. After a 5 day vacation, our tomato plant was dead.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The GS Revolution Planters are extremely well designed and constructed. I purchased 4, using 3 for tomatoes and 1 for basil. It took the basil about 2 weeks to kick into gear; the tomatoes were a hit from the start. I planted 2 determinate varieties and 1 indeterminate. I've always planted tomatoes 3/4 under ground, so the plant can produce as much root area as possible. These planters allow me to do that :)) Another plus, is no tomato horn worms larvae overwintering in the ground!
I sank a 10' pressure treated 4x4 post in the ground 3'. I should have gone w/a 12'. I think the tomato plant will end up dragging the ground. :((
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Too soon to tell, however, the plant is growing around the bottom on one side and up. Not sure that is what is supposed to do? I have a Goliath Bush tomato plant in it and seems to be doing okay, slowly.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Turning tomato plants on their heads is such an ingenious idea...I wish I had done this 30+ yrs. ago. These hangers are very sturdy & I feel they will last for several years. The plants in them are extremely happy as I already have flowers & a few baby tomatoes on them inside of 1 month since planting. The only thing I found difficult was the actual assembly; pictures were poor & the references did not point out "top" or "bottom" well (since these are Upside down hangers, was the top really the top or was it the bottom they were referring to?) Once the 1st one was assembled, the 2nd one was much easier, but instructions need to be clarified.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We wanted a small garden, but also wanted to have a variety of vegetables. The Revolution Planters are hanging under one of our decks which gives us extra space in the garden for the other plants. What a wonderful solution!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
These planters are tough and sturdy. One does have a few small spots of discoloration possibly due to recent wet weather. These drain very well and the cage around them is nice and strong. My plants adjusted immediately to these and in the course of less than 1 month have already doubled in size. The capillary watering system seems to be working.
It took both my husband and I to hang them, add the reservoir, and hook the final chain as they are quite heavy when full.
So far I'm very impressed. I definitely plan to add more of these to my garden next year.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I like this much more than the TopsyTurvy due to the material and the ease of use. I will evalate later when I know more of durability. But I have recommended to friends already.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
the water well did not provide adequate moisture so I had to water the actually holder. the plant finally died so I had to try another plant. don't know if that one will make it.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Had to go on line to this site to find assembly instuctions. Those should be provided in the box with the item.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
THIS CONTRAPTION IS DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE, MESSY, AND SUCCESSFULLY KILLED THE PLANTS WITHIN 3 DAYS!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It is really too soon to tell. but everything seems to be going well. so, we have high hopes for many fun tomatoes!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought four of these for tomatoes. I'm an experienced gardener, and these were a complete bust. Only one out of four produced even tolerably well. ONLY buy these if you have no other option.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Bought and used two of original design in 2007 or 2008. Had concerns that the water reservoir was open and would be a breeding place for mosquitos. That, combined with the heaviness and inconvenience to add water, has kept these contraptions in the back of the shed ever since. It's also expensive replacing the bag each year.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
These assembled easily and the self-watering design makes them so easy to maintain. We've only had the plants in for one month and they're already huge with blossoms!
We will definitely be using them again next year and have highly recommended them to others.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I love these baskets; no weeding and the water and gets right to the plant. I liked them so much I just bought 5 more.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We feel this item will last longer than the older planters we are replacing it with. It is a great feel to it.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I really like the idea of the plant growing upside down. The planter and cage assembly was a little tricky. It is heavy to move around. So far the plant growth has not been as rapid as a conventional type planter but I am optimistic.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I ordered four of the Revolution Planters, along with several other items. They weren't sent as a package. In other words, the cage, bag, water resevoir, and capillary strips should have been wrapped as one unit. I thought that I didn't receive all the parts, because parts of it were with other items that I ordered. There were no assembly instructions with any of them, and I had to go online to get the instructions. There was not even a mention that the assembly instructions were online. I liked the idea of the zipper on the bag -- much easier to get the plant into the bag. I also like the self watering aspect to this product. I hope it all grows well and is fruitful later on. Despite the difficulty in putting it together, and finding all the parts, I would recommend it to others, if the instructions and everything was packaged together to start with.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
So far so good...the product is working great. i have 4 of these but they have only been in use for 2 weeks. The proof will be how much fruit they will produce and how they hold up over the long run. the wicks clog fast but they send extras so you don;t need to buys them.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have the planter hanging from our deck and is doing a great job with the tomato plant.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Worth the extra cost versus the cheap upside down planters you see at all the big box stores
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Instructions could have been improved - like having person add water to the potting soil at the beginning of the procedure (then it would be ready when needed) and warning at the beginning that it takes 2 people to really do well.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I like that the planting container seems very sturdy and durable, unlike the drug store version. It was challenging to put together and ultimately heavy. Be prepared with a hanger that can accommodate 40 pounds. Hoping it will do well this summer and for many summers to come.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Once I found the directions, this planter was fairly easy to assemble. Never having used an upside-down planter I'm anxious to see how my tomatoes will develop. I am sorry that the price dropped by $5 on this planter the week after I ordered it.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have thought this upside down tomato plant kit was kooky. Then realized I had no room to plant a tomato in the ground. I love this kit. It is easy to set up, takes little room and I am thinking of doing the same for a few other viney (is that a word?) veggies next year. This one is much better looking that the cheap plastic ones I have seen. Hightly recommend this.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is a much sturdier product than to Topsy Turvy I used last year. This one actually looks like it would last a second season. Assembling it was a little tricky but finally figured it out.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It needs a lid, the water evaporates too quickly out of the top holding area. Other than that, seems to be working great. Attractive solid green!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Very hard to assemble with parts, soil, & plant. Needs its own individual support & full sun. Don't forget the plant-it doesn't come with it (as pictured!).
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Went together fairly easily. The container mix I bought was a godsend, highly recommend using their mix! So far so good, one thing to note is its VERY heavy so plan appropriately.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I ordered four Planters, the Four-Arm Plant Hanger, Self Watering Container Mix and Fertilizer. Just planted the four tomato plants yesterday. The Four-Arm Hanger is very solid and sturdy, definitely worth the money spent. It took about 3 hours to plant all four plants, and was a little more complicated than I had thought it would be. Plan on 2 people to get it all together - without the help of my husband I would have been very frustrated - it weighs A LOT. By the fourth plant, I had figured out that filling it up half way, with plant in place and hanging it on a support to fill the rest of the way was a good idea.
My major concern was getting the small stem of the plant in place on the bottom so it comes out of the cut canvas the correct way.
I'm intrigued to see how they grow. They are in an all-day sun spot on our deck and this has been a relatively hot spring for us so far.
In the past we have planted a few tomato plants in our garden and were ultimately disappointed by the pests, heaviness of the vines that ended up on the ground by mid-August no matter what we did.
Will report again at the end of summer - since this was much pricier than "Topsy-Turvy." :)
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This product is so much better than the overly commercialized "topsy" product. Why? Because Gardener's Supply listens to their customers, makes improvements and focuses on ease of use and durability. The newest improvements address all concerns that someone could have with the tv known product. I know that this product is easy to plant, helps retain water, won't crash/break because of weight as the plant grows and will last season over season. This is the most superior product if you are looking for an upside down planter.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
So far my tomato plant is growing like my weeds. The test will be when I see how many tomatoes I get.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It is still early in the season but so far I love it. I planted 4 different types of tomatoes in these and I planted the same tomatoes also in the ground so I could compare them. So far the ones growing in the revolution planters are bigger and healthier looking than the ones I planted in the ground. I have been looking for a solution to keeping the tomatoes off the ground and cages and staking have only giving me limited success. I think this may be the answer I have been looking for. I liked that it opened up to put the plant in - I am sure I would have damaged the plants trying to get them through a hole otherwise. I did also purchase the 4 arm hanger - you really need something sturdy to handle the weight of these when they are full.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Purchased two, one for cherry tomatoes and one for Early Girl tomato plant. Assembly a little difficult for first but got the hang of it for second. Don't fill the water resevoir as instructed for few days or it just keeps dripping out. It's heavy to hang high and needs a strong hook.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
There were extra button holes on the fabric..not sure what they are for.
Bought 2 for tomatoes and am running a comparison for this season with another, heavily advertised brand to see which will win out.
Looks great.
Good construction.
Soil must be wet before you fill the container so it does not fall out the slotted bottom.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
These would be easy to assemble if you had five hands. Lots of pieces to line up and get wrong. The holes in the liner only line up one way, so you need to keep rotating it until you find the magic position. The capillary strips are a bit of a mystery until you see them in action. Getting the water reservoir in and out while the unit is hanging is a bit of a trick.
Some caveats in the instructions are not explained in the catalog: - use a light, soilless mix (not sure if this is necessary), don't use liquid fertilizer (it clogs the capillary strips), if it rains a lot you have to lift out the capillary strips. The instructions for filling the liner say to lay it on its side - I had more success just hanging it from two hooks and loading it a scoop at a time vertically.
Watering is hard to gauge - you can't really see or feel if its dry. And its not well suited to my drip irrigation system - I may try just removing the water reservoir and put an emitter in each and cover the top (mostly) to keep the rain out (wet summer climate here).
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Okay, great improvement this year. I didn't like the watering tabs and water-fill pan at all. Matter of fact my tomatoes died. This year I decided to change and do it my way. But low and behold, you came out with the AquaScale which is must better, But I still did away with the watering pan. I wasn't getting enough water to the plant and now I am with the AquaScale. Love my magazine and some of the ideas. My tomatoes and peppers are going great - Yea !!!

Finally, an upside down container that works. The ability to fold the cage and bag in half while loading eliminates damage to the plant and makes planting way easier. I am recording how well plants do in this planter (and the delux one too) at [@] or on YouTube at thegardendude

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Just short of "5 star perfect" because I wish it had a top cover and I would like to see a version that has "strawberry pot" style ports or holes on the sides for growing strawberries. Even so ... it's still the best hanging planter I have seen on the market.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This is a great idea and offers an alternative to fences to protect crops from rabbits. I hung mine on a porch, so that way I can also not worry about the deer.
Assembly could use a few more instructions, such as to place the water wicks in before the soil. It is difficult to slide them fully in through the dirt.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Nice sturdy product. Much nicer than many I've seen.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It was a bit of a production to set up 4 of these. I made my husband do it as my Mother's Day present or it would have been mid-summer before we got around to it.
We didn't read carefully about the potting soil special requirements, but so far it's working with regular potting soil.
In retrospect, whole thing seems expensive with all pieces (4-arm holder) and special things needed.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It is the perfect solution for the elderly to grow a tomato plant and fun too. All you do is add water and pick the tomatoes when ripe

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Is this an improved way to grow tomatoes? In my opinion, no. The yield of upside-down tomatoes has not been any greater for me than rightside-up. The primary benefit of this type of planter is that it allows me to grow a "second story" above my other planters.
Things to consider:
This is not a lightweight container. Each filled with wet soil weighs in the neighborhood of 40 pounds. You will need to hang it from a fairly substantial support preferably where it will not be exposed to anything stronger than a gentle breeze.
While an improvement from the older version, the new planter still has some design flaws. The zipper reduces the risks previously associated with threading a seedling through a relatively small hole. However, I agree with earlier reviews regarding the zipper being reversed. Since a planter is filled from (what will be) the bottom to top, the zipper should operate the same direction. The new plastic closures for the cage do not instill a lot of confidence, so I added cable ties as insurance.
I completely disagree with the instructions to moisten your soil before putting it in the planter. In my opinion, bagged potting soil is plenty moist and much easier to work around the roots and prevent voids as you are filling the planter. When the roots are covered, hang the planter with one of the three chains disconnected, water the soil and continue to fill with additional soil as needed until you reach the point where the bottom of the water reservoir will be, insert the reservoir, and connect the third chain.
The button holes DO line up...but not while the planter is open. The problem is the way they are depicted in the instruction is not how they are in reality. This is one step where it pays to be intuitive and ignore the instructions and drawing.
Replacement bags ARE available...but not online. You have to call GS to order them. They run about half the cost of the entire planter.
Finally, look at the photo of the planter in the online catalog and the orientation of the tomato plant. The apical meristem is still attempting to grow UP. Your plant will not hang straight down but rather in a J-shape, something to think about if you're contemplating growing heavy, large-diameter slicing tomatoes. Sticking to determinate 2-inch and less diameter tomatoes is your best bet if you want to avoid stressing the branches.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Some...but not all. It works fine for my cherry tomatoes but I'm willing to tolerate the limitations and design bugs.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
We ordered 8 of these because we like to can tomatoes, make salsa, "V-8" juice, etc. Putting the cage together was difficult on the 1st 2, but after practice it was a breeze. You do need 2 people to assemble it and it seems the water in the pot on top needs to be refilled frequently. The tomatoes have grown already and it's only been a week. We hope they flourish and we get a great crop this year. I'll let you know at the end of the season how well it works.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The holes that hold the chains to the hanger do not line up with the hooks. We had to cut through the material so it wouldn't bulk up around the cage. We bought 8 of these upside down tomatoe growers and not a single one lined up. Need to improve on the quality and workmanship.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Really happy with the quality of this product. The design makes planting tomatoes much easier. Look great hanging.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
When finished as directed the planter weighs 40 LBs. The finish on my home will not permit me to hang from the home. I thought I would use a shephards hook. forget that. I can't comment on the planters success bc the season isn't over.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Overall I like the product but was a little put out to see you lowered the price by $5 shortly after I bought it.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
It took forever to assemble this upside down tomato planter and it was so heavy. I hope they revamp this product because it is overpriced compared to what is on the market. I'm not even using them this season.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
If things continue like they are, this will be the ultimate way to grow tomatoes without a lot of fuss. I'm impressed with the watering capability - it amazes me that tomatoes drink that much! It was a bit difficult to assemble without a second person, but I finally managed to find a hook that it would hang on that was low enough for me to hang it and finish filling it. It would have been nearly impossible without that. Hopefully, my tomato yield will reinforce the good feelings that I have about this planter. It seems very durable and I'm anxious to see if I'll be able to launder the bag and have it work for next year as well.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:

Sent this to my 88y/o Mom who lives in New Mexico. I'm hoping that it will be easier for her to maintain/water. I only sent 2 planters. She had already bought 2 Topsy Turvy planters, so we'll get a head to head comparison. She said assembly was no problem for my brother, and easier to plant than the TT brand. I'll keep you posted!

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought one of these and one of the cheap "As Seen On TV!" upside down tomato planters to see if the difference in cost is really worth it and, let me tell you, it IS! This one is easy to plant in, easy to water, and easy to hang. The other one was a pain to hang because you have to use their eye-bolt, water runs right through it because it doesn't have the self-watering feature, and I nearly mangled the plant (and did mangle the little "sponge" thing that holds the plant in) on the other one. Seriously, spend the money, buy these, and grow wonderful tomaotoes!

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought the updated model this year. My first year with the revolution planter was 2009. Compared to last year's model, this solves the problem of trying to plant a larger tomato into the small opening in the bottom of the bag. When I tried that last year I really beat the plant up trying to manuver the foliage through the hole. The bag now zips open to allow you to lay the plant in without damage. I do worry whether the bag will hold up for a whole season. The metal basket is in two pieces this year. Again planting is easier, but durabilty may have been compromised. In particular the plastic clamps that are used to join the two sides look like they would have to be replaced after a season. We shall see.
The vertical concept is sound and I had good luck with yield last year. Fertilizing after the plants are growing is difficult unless you use a foliar product. You add granular fertilizer at planting time, but it's difficult to add any after the plants have any size to them.
Over all it's a nice way to squeeze a few more tomato plants into your garden, a perennial problem for me!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The design of the bag is not great, or the instructions are lacking. The eyelets in the top of the bag don't match up appropriately with the bar braces, causing stress on some top areas of the bag, and too much excess in other areas. The hanging chain catches on the eyelets and rips the bag when trying to detach/reattach the chain. It is impossible to place enough soil in the bag while it is horizontal on the ground.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Was easy to plant. Only problem my tomatoes froze the night before last. Will have to replant.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Just put it in use, the problems, there is only one way the fabric bag fits in the wire cage. It would be very helpful if the bag and the cage were labeled "slot a", if only one slot were labeled the rest would logically follow along.
The other problem is the wicking strips, I found it easier to put the strips across the dirt, positioned correctly and hanging on the outside of basket, then put in reservoir then wicking in side of reservoir.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Works really well, already have tomatoes growing.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Purchased 2 Revolution planters for tomatoes as I really wanted to try the upside-down method and the other mass-market versions appeared much too flimsy. I read many of the other product review statements from other customers, so I was prepared for assembly to be difficult. Watching the assembly video online was the best thing I could have done - really helped demystify the process and point out the potential problems. The 2 little forks on the bottom that hook to the opposite side have to be positioned properly before you hang the planter upright. The fully assembled and filled planter is heavy - needed my husband to help move them to the overhead hanging brackets we have mounted to the side corner of the house, in the most sunny spot for the tomatoes. Now all we have to do is wait "patiently"...
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This product is supposed to be an improvement over last year's product. The zipper is a plus, but the material used for the bag is of lower quality than last year. Also, it was a struggle to fasten the bag to the cage and then fill up the bag with dirt. The bag also seemed smaller than last year's. Because of this, I have put the items in my garage and will try again next year. A fellow gardener also struggled with this item.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I have 6 tomatoes growing in these planters and they are doing very well.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I bought three of them last year, took them out of storage today. Out of the three two linings were ripped, very unhappy
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
A great way to grow tomatoes, when space is limited. The only negative is that the canvas bags last only one season. They should be marketed by themselves. (as replacements)

"Avid" is used in the sense that I would be, were it not for the desert winds and varmints. Being able to hang my tomato out of reach of most pests helps. The improvements to this product are great. I wish the watering used a method other than the cloth strips. Jury is out on wind resistance, but I really like this planting method.

TRIED OTHERS BUT THIS SURPASSES ANY AND ALL LOOKS GOOD, EASY TO MAINTAIN, CONVIENT.

Imediately after opening the box I noticed a big flaw in this design. The X hole on the bottom for the plant to extend through has no support to keep the soil from falling out. Of which the cheap inverted planters do have a support here.
Even using GS's organic mix for self watering and trying other soils, all the soil types fell out through the X hole. Especially after a moderately heavy rain. This required refilling the bag several times before I finally used an inverted Cow Pot to help solve this. Only time will tell if this will work after the pot deteriorates and the plant stem expands.
However, the construction is a great improvement over similar planters, of which I had great success, but be aware of this problem.
Another plus beside the construction is it really was simple to construct and fill with no problem fitting the cage halves together. The general weight also helps to keep it steadier in winds and the bag does not bake the plant roots as the cheaper versions do.
I would recommend this planter but with a reminder to keep an eye on the soil and plant falling out through the X hole.

The first planter was cumbersome to line-up the cloth properly. However, by the 2nd planter, everything came together well. This planter is very large & heavy to hang. At first we hung them on "sheppard's hooks". However, they were much too heavy for those & they fell over. We transferred the hangers to our washline poles & they seem to be doing nicely. Our tomato plants are doing well so far & I am looking forward to disease free plants this year (hopefully).

It was so simple to assemble. I love the self watering system.

Found this product to be well made, must state make sure that your hanging supports are strong enough.
The hanging rod planters are not strong enough to hold the weight.
I used large eye hooks supported to strong beams.
This is the first time I am using it and so far seems to work well.

This design looked like it would be easier to use than the regular Topsey Turvy but it ended up being a pain to put together. I would not buy this again. Will stick with the Topsey Turvy in the future.

I hang it in a corner over part of my garden. I place a drip sprayer in the reservoir on top, but adjust the sprayer such that the reservoir doesn't overflow much. I place a container plant below to catch any overflow.

I bought one of these last year but the liner did not have a zipper. It was easy to use so I bought 2 more this year. I reused last years liner and I did notice that it is starting to deteriorate so I will have to get a new one for next year but the directions say to get a new one every year so 2 years is a good deal!! I did not by the potting mix that is suggested for this product this year to save some money. I created my own mixture of peat moss and potting soil. So far it seems to be working well.

I bought this product to plant some tomatoes and hang on my deck. The deer eat tomato plants even through cages when planted in the ground at my house. I recommend this planter.
The cage is wire and seems sturdy. The liner also is better quality than some of these type planters.
The button holes in the liner to slip the three hanging hooks through will not line up with all three of the reinforced hanging spots on the cage, no matter how you turn the cage and liner. You have to just hang one of them where you can.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
A bit of a surpise assembling. Took more time than I expected. Holes do not line up, and the stitching ripped out. Very heavy to hold while trying to add additional soil. Even if you hang it, you must be able to see and reach over to fill it up. Difficult to get enough soil in before zipping. Like the concept. Even after a week the plants are growing well.
Replacement liners seems to be a problem. You need to order the cage as well, unless I'm not seeing it listed properly. This could make for a very expensive operation.

Looks promising.
Assembly harder than expected, particularly keeping the button holes lined up.

Have seen advertisements for a similar one, but this seems to be of sturdier construction and features. I will be interested in how an upside tomato plant works.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
decided not to use reservoir and wicks since it would make fertilizing difficult. Of course, then water runs right through. Previous upside down planters had three foam circles between layers of soil that slowed down drainage. Worked better.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Sturdy, easy to assemble, water wicks & water well a plus. Would like to see a floral fabric.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
My only complaint is the difficulty to add fertilizer. I am not strong, I live alone, and I am "old"
I finally added it in the gaps between the liner and the water container. I will have to have someone come over to help me change the strips I guess.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
An unbelievably time-intensive project that doesn't quite come together as the directions state. The directions could use some improvement, as well. I figure it took me about an hour per tomato. I had better have astounding fruit, or I'll never use it again.

So far, so good. Tomato plant took to it like a duck takes to water. Looking forward to some wonderful fruit.

THese are great but they get really heavy. You need a very sturdy hanging support to hold these up.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
A little challenging to assemble - definitely better with 2 people. The button holes for the hooks are asymmetrical - so the bag has to be lined up a specific way in order for the hooks to fit correctly - which may have been the problem the users who commented below had - but as long as you line up the holes with the hooks BEFORE you add the dirt, you'll be fine. Issues - the sautering on one of the baskets I ordered (I ordered 7) came apart in 2 places, and the bolt sautered to the bottom of another hook is not level, which makes the plant hang at an angle. All the rest have so far been fine.
