Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

I start my seedlings in Gardener's Supply Germinating Mix and, when tall enough, put them in six-packs filled with transplant mix. These are placed in a tray with a clear plastic cover, and kept close to overhead fluorescent lights. When big enough they are then transplanted into pint-sized containers and filled with transplant mix. I have never had 'damp-off' or lost a healthy seedling. It cannot be improved. I've been using it for decades.

Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

I am using this mix for the first time for my indoor under lights seedlings and also adding it to my outdoor container vegs. The indoor plants are growing nicely. the weather has been too cold to plant tomatoes etc. in my outdoor container garden so I can't comment on how well they will do just yet. However I expect even better results than my indoor plants.

Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

I've used this product for years as part of my seed starting routine and the plants have always done very well. It's a good mix to use, as it's relatively lightweight until mixed with water but then absorbs the water quickly when I'm ready to use it. The texture is perfect for the "one step up" after the seeds start off in germinating mix.

Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

Once they are big enough, this is what I always transplant my seedlings into (using 32-oz.empty yogurt containers with holes punched in the bottom). I grow tomatoes, eggplant, basil, bell peppers, and a few flowers (snapdragons, this year) and I have absolutely no "cons" about this transplant mix--I can see no posible reason for using anything else. The tomatoes, especially, always outgrow the plsnt stand of their infancy and start hitting their heads on the lights. They demand to be planted outside (where they sometimes just stand around doing nothing because it's a little too chilly for them).

Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

t has replaced your Germinating Mix and, God forbid, your Organic Seed Starting Mix, which are entirely too dense, have too much peat and too many ingredients to let water saturate and run through them. Moisture sits atop the mix, turning to algae and seeds do not germinate. i lost 8 trays of seeds this Spring using the Germinating mix. So, use the Transplant mix for seeds as wells as transplants.

Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

My order had the transplant mix on backorder so I had to run out to the store to buy some other mix. I transplanted many of my seedling with the store bought product and that soil is drying out soooo fast. The GSC transplant mix I used for the remaining seedlings stays moist much longer without actually being wet. Really like this product and have no doubt I'll be using it again. Size of the bag was just what I needed (and will have more left over) to transplant 48 seedlings to cowpots.

I usually love Garden Supply soilless mixes and have excellent luck with their products in the past, but this last bag I received didn't measure up to the usual outstanding standards. I don't know if they are using a different supplier but the quality was not the same as last years' product.

This is the first season I've tried planting from seed. As such I wanted to have the right materials for success, and this transplant soil works wonderfully. I simply place my seedling pellets into a larger coconut husk pot with the transplant soil in it--in a few days they are ready to be hardened off. I like that this soil bag is not too heavy and the soil texture is light and fluffy. I'm not doing too many seeds all at once so the smallish bag suits my purposes fine.

My first time using the transplant mix. So far so good. Doing a bit of an experiment with a competing well-known brand of transplant mix and finding that it's drying out a bit faster than the Gardener's supply mix, which, frankly surprised me. So far the plants in both groups seem to be coming along equally but time will tell. Harvest time, that is.

Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

I've been using Transplant Mix in the pots and planters on my terrace for more than ten years. I've used it for all kinds of plants--from tomatoes and herbs to flowers and trees. The only downside is that you have to add LOTS of calcium in order to grow tomatoes without blossom-end rot.

I started seeds using a competitor's seed-starting mix, and the seedlings were small and struggling to survive. I transplanted them to this mix, and now they are thriving and will make it into the garden soon. (In the future I will be using seed-starting mix from Gardener's Supply as well as this transplanting mix!) Great product!

This is a great transplanting mix for use between seedling stage and actual plantings into garden. I also use this mix to start my begonia and potato tubers in-house each Spring. Also, most local nurseries are not open in March when I tend to start up my tubers, and online ordering is very convenient for me.

I have enjoyed starting seeds indoors for several years, and I have found the Gardeners Supply seed-starting and transplant mixes to be exceptional! Bagged soils from my local nursery simply do not compare! What I love best about the Transplant Mix is that I use any leftover mix to add in to my summer container mix - it gives it a lighter texture!

After I start my vegetables mainly tomatoes in my small green house using the germinating mix I then transplant the plants into bigger containers especially the tomatoes using the transplant mix. In the past two years this will be the third that I have done this my tomtoes and brocolli plants have done exceptionally well. I believe the extra time I spend doing this step has trully paid off. I compare my plants with ones in nurserys and I always have the better plants. I had sixty tomatoe plants last year and they were beautiful.

I start all of my seeds in the bio cell dome with the sponges. I place one seed in each sponge, then I put two more on the outside of each sponge. Once each plant is about 2 inches tall with a couple leaves I take the sponge out and gently pull the young plants off the out side of each sponge and I plant them in yogurt cups that I put three small holes in the bottom of each cup and I add the trans plant mix to each cup with the new young plant , and I will have nice healthy plants in about 4 weeks ready to plant in the garden.

Comments about Transplant Mix, 30 Qts.:

This is an excellent soil-less mix for potting on seedlings and growing many indoor pot plants. I think it would be slightly better if the texture was a bit more coarse, for plants that like a more airy root environment. I add a little sand or additional perlite for these plants. This mix is better than just about any other I've found and is a good value. Oh, one last trivial thing. I'd prefer if there weren't micro ventilation holes in the bag, cause the bag leaks fine mix particles when I use it for indoor gardening. Like I said, trivial. Thanks.
