The Paper Pot Maker is a simple, time-tested tool that transforms ordinary newspaper into a limitless supply of 3" pots, perfect for seedstarting. Simply wrap a strip of newspaper around the solid oak press, fold it under, and twist into the base. Presto! It only takes a few seconds and you can get several pots from one newspaper page. Most of the time, you can plant pot and all right into the ground, with no repotting necessary.

Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Simplicity is the perfection - This simple tool has saved me the cost of having to purchase little coconut pots to plant my seedlings.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Last year I made pots around soup cans. They turned out well but didn't stay together as nicely as the Paper Pot Maker ones do. I spent an evening in front of a movie and made a lot of pots. However, my hands got tired and I finally quit and ended up buying some seed flats for the rest of my seeds. If I had started earlier in the season, it would not have been a problem.
These are nice starter seed pots but I wouldn't grow tomatoes or peppers in them long-term as they are a bit small.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I am using these paper pots to pot seedlings. It is so easy that my grandchildren can make the pots. They love helping Nana with her garden. It is even a very attractive implement. A fellow Master Gardener demonstrated one at our monthly meeting and I could not wait to order my own.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Easy to use and inexpensive way to start seeds, especially in schools. It really works.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
This little wooden gadget makes tiny little newspaper pots for seed starting. After you play around with different sizes of paper to use, you will find a size that works best for you.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Easy enough to use, great for kids!
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Love the idea but need to double the newspaper or use grocery bags for the "pots" to be more durable
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
This little wonder works really well. I agree with another comment I read here about raising a bit of newspaper on the end to wrap over the edge of the pot to keep it together. Great money saver compared to peat pots!
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
This works well for making recycled paper pots, just wish it was a little larger to make bigger pots
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
i made 100's of pots while watching tv in just a short whil. love it but costs too much.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Making seed pots for earlier start for the growing season. After seeds start can plant the container, not having to disturb the roots, after time the pot will become compost therefore supplementing the soil.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I bought this as a gift so instructions on how to use it - even a diagram - would have been nice
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I learned that the black and white part of the newspaper or the pages from an old phone book contain natural soy ink that when combined with the paper the ink is printed on acts as a natural fertilizer for the seedling. With this in mind, the paper pot maker is a very economical choice; it will never wear out. And I just love the appearance of the natural wood--too cute to store!

Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I hate waste and use this to recycle old newsprint into something useful. Any larger and the paper falls apart no matter how many layers thick. The pots are the perfect size for transplanting into larger pots if needed. I create a few thousand pots each year and this pot maker saves me hundreds of dollars each year. The description is somewhat misleading though.
The pots are a perfect size for starting seeds.

Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I specifically shopped for the largest size "Pot Maker" I could find. After checking many brands, this one claimed to make 3" pots which was bigger than any of the others. Absolutely NOT TRUE!!!! This makes pots that are less than 2" in diameter and you can only get 3" tall IF YOU SQUASH your fingers into the paper while you're rolling it. The description is totally misleading!

Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Used the pot maker for a children's gardening activity. More than 150 children made the pots and planted green bean seeds to plant in their home gardens. It was easy to use even for the smallest children.
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
Excellent product for recycling newspapers for something useful in the garden
Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I guess this would be good for plants just starting out but not big enough for bigger plants. It's easy enough to use but was dissapointed in the size of the pot it makes. I was thinking 3 inches across but it's 3 inches around.

Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I love this product! Our school is going green and this product is helping our kindergardeners (no pun intended, "gardeners" lol) understand that there are other ways to recycle other than putting it curbside. I purchased 2 one for the school and one for me. Our kindergardeners are planning on planting 2 plants each, which adds up to 100 flowering plants. We are all excited!!

The paper pot maker is the cheapest way to get your seeds off to a great start. So smiple a child could do it. A great way to recycle to.
No more buying those expensive seed starter kits. Just cut the newspaper, wrap it around the paper pot maker, fill with soil and you are done.
Easy to store so it is always handy.
Save some money and make your own pots.

I have several different sizes of starting pots, none organic. Now I make my own, all the same size and just plant into the ground.

This makes a nice 1 5/8 inch pot, not a three inch pot.

Comments about Paper Pot Maker:
I bought this years ago and still use it occasionally. I would only recommend it for fast germinating, fast growing seedlings. Any paper you use will deteriorate too quickly for plants requiring a very early start-- expect to get 3-4 weeks life out of the pots. Minimizing handling will help keep the pots intact longer, though. Magazine paper will hold up better than newsprint but no matter which paper you use, don't be tempted to use several layers. Doing so will make it difficult to form a pot with a flat bottom. However, this pot maker does create a very straight-sided, useful sized pot which nestle well together without a lot of wasted space on your trays. Great for zinnias and sunflowers, lousy for nicotianas and poppies etc.
