Collecting kitchen scraps for composting shouldn't detract from your kitchen décor. This sleek, ceramic crock is attractive enough to keep on the kitchen counter, so there is no need to hide it under the sink. Glazed inside and out, the crock will never stain or absorb food odors, and it has an activated-carbon filter to trap odors.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I'm more aware of composting...it is so pretty!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This sits on my kitchen counter looking pretty and working hard! I use it during meal prep and clean up. It looks pretty, is easy to clean (particularly if you use the bio liners) and holds a lot. I wish I would have purchased one sooner.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Returned this item immediately. I can't believe it ever got into production. The catalog photo is misleading - so much more attractive than the actual product. This crock is ugly. Looks like a cross between a fire plug and an old fashioned garbage can. Takes up way too much space for the little waste it stores. Too heavy. Lid is a total nuisance. I don't want to lift a heavy lid every time I toss a scrap. I'm much happier with my inexpensive, rectangular, plastic, food-storage container. That has a lid which easily stores beneath the container, it's lightweight, space efficient, and easy to clean.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Composting is cleaner and contained and unnoticible.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is my 1st attempt at indoor composting. I'm sure I'll improve.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Instead of running outside to the garden composter I just toss in the kitchen scraps and wait until it is full before dumping....never smells.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I ordered this as a gift for my daughter. When opened, there was a chip on the lid. We used a red magic marker to color it in. Then when "just bumped" we had another chip on the bottom. We used a red magic marker on that also! It is a nice looking compost crock, but don't know how it will hold up. Doesn't seem like anything "Made in China" is great quality.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The new style lid doesn't have the smaller lip inside to hold the filter more securely. The new one works but you have to be careful not to lose the filter.Still it is my favorite style for gathering coffee grounds, tea leaves and veggie peelings for my compost. I have one in the home, trailer and cabin!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The Compost Crock sits right on my counter and no one guesses why it is there. It matches my kitchen appliances and has NO odor whatsoever. It meets my needs perfectly, and saves me trips out to the composter before daybreak.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Unfortunatley the lid broke within 2 months. Was able to repair wtih super glue. Probably better off to buy a metal one
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
For two years we've been using an old ice cream bucket for our kitchen compost...now I have an attractive compost container that has no odor and is esthetically pleasing. I love it!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love the kitchen compost crock. It holds a lot, looks great and the color matches my kitchen decor. The only problem is tiny flies but I had those before with the bowl I was using. The bio bags make this crock even better!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great on my kitchen counter and the perfect size to collect kitchen scraps and coffee grounds. Probably should have gotten the bio bags, but it's pretty easy to rinse out after emptying. I do want to attach some felt or cork pads on the bottom because I'm afraid it will scratch the granite counter top.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The red crock compost bucket looks great in my black and white kitchen. So far it does the job it was intended to do. However, I was a little disappointed that I paid $30 for a crock that doesn't feel real sturdy. I'm thinking that one bump on something and it's probably a gonner. I might point out that it's "Made in China."
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Just finished remodeling kitchen, and this adds a nice touch. Large capacity, and don't have to go to the compost pile as often. No more smelly in the kitchen.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It fits on the island shelf and does exactly what I want. there is no odor. That the lid does not fit tightly does not detract from the efficiency of the crockpot

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I HAVE BOUGHT SEVERAL OF THE OLD PRODUCT AND USED THEM DAILY FOR YEARS. THEY WERE VERY STURDY AND TOOK REGULAR COMPOSTING ABUSE. I REPLACED MY LAST ONE RECENTLY AND THE NEW ONE IS ALREADY BROKEN.
THE HANDLE STUB BROKE OFF. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AND ARE NOT NEAR THE SAME QUALITY. I GUESS I HAVE TO BUY A METAL ONE.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Just the right size for the kitchen counter. Very attractive design and available in multiple colors.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This crock is an attractive accessory in the kitchen, while also extremely effective for kitchen waste collection and composting. Heats up nicely without odor. Use of the optional liners recommended for easy removal and cleaning.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Fruit Flys became a problem. I suppose the filter is letting smells of kitchen scraps and fruit rinds get through. We took care of this problem by covering with a rag.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I use the compost crock to collect everything that can go into the vegetabe garden soil. In the winter I am using it to collect wet garbage for disposal. I use small plastic bags as liners and they work perfectly. I don't know how I managed for so long without this crock. It's also very attractive on the kitchen counter compared to the old ice cream pail I used before finding this!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I can fill this can every 1-2 days, it's small enough not to be in the way on the kitchen counter and yet big enough to hold a few days of kitchen waste easily. I haven't noticed any bad smell so the filter must work when closed because I use onions in almost everything I cook. After dumping in compost bin, it's easily rinsed out, no deep crevices in the bottom to have to scrub everytime. The red color I picked is PERFECT in my new kitchen. THANKS.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We are currently doing a project at our Church called "Garden for God". We have 3 raised beds 10 x 20 feet. I started a mulch pile and asked evryone to contribute. I started donating these crocks to our church members for free to help. They have taken off like wildfire. I am ordering more and more every week for the church memebers. They really like the biodegradable bags with these crocks!

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We moved into a house that had two compost bins in the far back yard. I want to compost, but don't want to walk back every day. This kitchen compost device holds scraps for compost for several days until filled. The container is cute and with the filters, it doesn't smell at all.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I bought this for my mom who use to keep her compost items in a plastic container on the counter. Now she uses this compost container. It is more attractive and is very odor free. After hearing how well she likes it, I now need to order one for myself.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I like that it is not too tall to fit under counter, but when there is some large kitchen waste it is full FAST. If you have trouble with manual dexterity, the lid can be hard to handle, especially if your hands are wet or you are handling a couple of things at once.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
i bought this kitchen scrap compost pot for my parents and it looks very nice. However it broke as soon as my parents got it out of the box. The product is made of ceramic with a heavy gage wire handle. The pressure of the handle on the ceramic snapped the handle and a chunk of ceramic right off the pot as soon as you picked it up. The ceramic was just to thin to handle the handle.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The Kitchen compost pot looks great on my counter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks attractive in the kitchen, takes care of unpleasant smells.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
No one can even tell what it is. It looks great and no smell at all. The bags are a bit bigger than the crock capacity, but they work great.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Love the appearance and size. However it is very suscepible to chipping and cracking. I have granite counter tops and have bumped it several times against the counter top. The bottom has chipped and the top is cracked (in less than 3 months). If there is a metal one I would opt for it instead of the ceramic.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I use the Bio bags with the crock and I've had little to no smell. Removed filter and put in dishwasher. It's a great crock to have! A+++
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Serves it's purpose and looks good too!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I got one of these for my Mother for Christmas and one for myself. They are great, I never knew how many scraps we threw away that we could use for composting. I have already recomended the crock to others.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We love the product and it is attractive in the kitchen area. We wish it were larger because we can fill it up in a couple of days and with the bags, that can become expensive.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
handy as well as decorative on the kitchen counter
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The scraps begin to compost as it fills, in under a week so it seemed to never completely fill, with no odor! I would recommend this on-the-counter item for anyone that uses or buries compost.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Met all my expectations
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Purchased two as gifts and they went to family in cities that require composting,so far so good.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The compost crock snugs into a corner on our kitchen countertop and acts as a convenient reminder to compost coffee grounds, tea leaves and raw vegetable and fruit scraps rather than putting them down the garbage disposal. When it is full, we transfer the contents to our garden compost bin. Living on a lake, composting is ecologically friendlier than using artificial fertilizers. Thanks for helping us care about the local ecology.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I bought two - a red one for my home and a blue one as a Christmas gift. The crock is a good size and the handle makes it nice to carry outside to our compost bin. We had been using plastic dishes and this is much more attractive and handy. Also bought the filters, which so far have been keeping the odors under control. Did not purchase the bag liners, but there is no need for them, as the crock empties and rinses out nicely. I would like to see more color selection, like green or brown.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I purchased this as a gift. I am really happy with the bright color and great design. This looks great sitting on my sister's counter, definitely not the old garbage scrap bucket of yesteryear.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I looked EVERYWHERE for a cobalt blue crock for my parents and was delighted to find one on your site. I didn't open the box before Christmas as I knew what it was and just wrapped it. When they opened the box, they were thrilled but then the handles broke off before they even got it out of the box. They were crushed! As was I. I will be sending it back tomorrow.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This composter is the right size for 24 hours & l;ooks great on the counter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Nice to have an attractive place to put the messy ugly food scraps....especailly because it doesn't smell. Plus other catalogs charge so much more for the filters! Get it all here!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I have used a container for my compost items but this is much more attractive and is air tight so no nasty odors.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
First one broke because handle fell off. second one dropped top. But I love it. Looks great, No odor. Can't live without one. What a great way to collect kitchen scraps.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Product sits next to sink. It looks attractive. Difficult to clean. The handle frequently falls off.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I was using an old canister for my kitchen scraps for the compost bin. This container is attractive, large enough to use for about 10 or 15 days, and best of all the carbon liners completely get rid of any odors. Good color for my kitchen, very happy with it!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This product looks attractive while being useful.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We had been looking for months to find a perfect fit for our kitchen and this was it.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I need only take it out once a week.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Attractive, no odor and useful
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Perfect for the serious cook. Plenty of room for a day of cooking soups, sauces etc. Much less going into wastebasket now. Would highly recommend.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Keeps veggie scraps odor free for several hours in the house.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is basically an attractive, good product. The measurements, however, suggested a bit larger item. [...]
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love this product. I always hated scrap bags in the sink and/or the smell caused by placing scraps in the trash, and some things you just don't want to put down the garbage disposal. I broke mine and just purchased another to replace it. I wish the lid were just a little more solid so it wouldn't break as easily.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Everything is fine except the handle seems a bit flimsy. After reading other reviews, I am nervous to carry out to my compost pile by the handle. Other than that, it's great!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is beautiful on my counter. I've owned it for about 8 weeks and the very first time I took out the compost the handle slipped off which is odd because it's next to impossible to get the handle back on. Then when I sat it back on my counter, it got a large chip on the side. Now it has a big crack down one side. It's still holding together but I don't know how much longer it will. It's not worth the price and I'll be replacing it with something metal and more sturdy.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Color photo for the red is WAY off. (Un)fortunately, I chipped the bottom on the sink after 3 weeks of use and then again later. The my 22 year old son, broke the top. The filter touched the compost and got moldy and we inserted the second and tried to keep it from touching the scraps. The smell is terrible without the filter due to the holes in the lid. I do not recommend for a cluzty gardender who has any age children in the home.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This was a great buy. Wanted something attractive as well as functional. No odors and collects a good amount of waste so that I don't have to go to the compost every day. Found the handle concern to be no concern at all.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It is showing cracks in the lid as well as the base after just 2 months.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Can't make any decisions as use time very short. Will have opinion after six or eight months use.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This crock eliminates the odor and unsightly mess of temporary storage of kitchen sraps that will eventually end up in the outdoor compost pile. People think I am storing pretzels in the attractive container.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Makes composting easier; Have it on the counter near the sink. Looks nice and is handy
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great on my counter. The white one I purchased blends in nicely with my mostly white countertops. It holds several days worth of biodegradable kitchen scraps. Like having an odor filter in the lid. I use the biobags with this product. Very simple and good for the earth.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It sits on my kitchen counter and all compost scraps on put in daily.
It looks good on the counter, no smells
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I purchased this product to put our kitchen scraps in that we process to fed our worms. My husband use to leave the scraps sitting on the counter and it was not only smelly but constantly in my way. This crock is a nice accessory to my kitchen counter now. It is the right size and is easy to use.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
we are very satisfied, but would like an outside composter in which to dump the crock, do you have such an item, we are interested
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love my compost bucket. I just started composting this year & this makes it so much easier! My only complaint is that it starts to smell within 1-2 days with the charcoal filter. I find that I can survive without the expensive biodegradable bags because moisture condenses inside the bucket when I use them and I have to wash the bucket anyway!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Love the way it looks on my kitchen counter next to the sink.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Like this crock for its design (looks great right on my counter), color selection (to match my decor) and size. It's large enough to hold many days' worth of scraps, and I like its large opening. I use a plastic bag inside & close it between fillings. I've not had any problem with odors or fruit flies. The charcoal filter works to eliminate odors along with the use of the interior bag. The only drawback for me is the 'clanging" sound of the metal handle on the crock. It's a bit loud. Other than that, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This looks great on my counter and is a perfect match for my Flow Blue Platters and Blue Willow dishes. It is a very useful size, but doesn't take up too much room on the counter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I keep it by my sink when I am prepairing my meals to put the scraps in. I will tell all my friends about it. thank you for having this at a reasonable price.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
These items were given as gifts, and the recipients were happy with the looks and the colors of their new compost crocks!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The bin looks and works great, and I have no complaints. It is larger than expected, so without a great deal of counter space I had to adjust and find a place under the sink for it. I'm glad to have it!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Loved the color and design. Handle broke first time trying to empty the pot.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
A bit pricey.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Pretty enough to leave on the counter; practical enough that I use it every day (especially paired with the biodegradable bag inserts). It makes composting kitchen waste an easy thing to keep up with -- simply fill up the crock, then carry the bag out to the composter as needed.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great on the counter. With aid of charcoal filter, efforts to learn how to feed the compost heap instead of the garbage pick up truck are forgiving if do not frequently empty as the contents will start to decompose before being deposited into compost heap as the device is easy to clean and does not produce a detectable oder. Be careful on the way to the heap as the lid does NOT lock onto container and may slip off (easy to glue together).
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This does just what it says. It holds just the right amount for us and it doesn't get slimy or skunky. I love the cobalt blue color.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
consolidates kitchen scraps and coffee grinds to later be used in the composer. Attractive looking but handle is poorly designed and breaks prematurely.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is my 2nd one
Broke the lid of the first one
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This item is really a "must have" in busy kitchens. I am very happy with mine.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This was a perfect replacement for an open container for my Kicthen in the Netherlands. Although a bit big for a European style kitchen we still seem to fill it up quickly. Wonderful addition to our home.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The knob holding the metal bail handle broke off in the first week we had the crock and couldn't be glued! The filter didn't keep the contents odor free and we had disgusting little black bugs escaping within a couple days! Overall this was a disappointing product--not our usual experience with Gardener's Supply!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
love the ceramic and looks great on my counter.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This little crock is my conscience. I see it every time I am working in the kitchen and I am reminded to put my kitchen scraps to work for me. I can easily collect them as I prepare meals. Items that I used to just toss in the trash are now being recycled and placed regularly in our larger outdoor compost container.
I bought one for a friend who doesn't do her own composting, but her trash removal company accepts kitchen scraps in biodegradable bags to compost at their facility, so it is a good thing for her as well.
This product, along with the biodegradable bags, is an attractive and useful addition to any kitchen.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
works really well, the charcoal filter is difficult to clean if the contents get too close to the top and soil the filter.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I've had this pail for years. It looks good and matches my kitchen very well. However, the lid slipped out of my hand and broke instantly on the granite countertop. After mending it a few times, I finally bought a new lid, which fell on the counter and broke almost immediately. Again I've been gluing it but its beyond repair again so I have to look for a more durable material. I'm not the klutziest person, so if you think there's any change the lid might slip, think twice. Also, I find that the carbon filters this site sells get moldy very quickly.
The pail itself has a decent capacity. The metal handle has become unlatched from the nubs on the side and I've had to use pliers to tighten it back on but that's not a big deal.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I really like the looks of this product. Ive had it for several weeks now and no odor.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I bought the cobalt blue and it is perfect next to my kitchen sink. I throw away vegetable scraps, egg shells, coffee ground, etc. in there. I use the compotable bags in there for easy clean up. There is no smell from it, but does have some little flies when I open it up, guess I didn't clean it up fast enough. Great size for the kitchen and looks nice on the counter.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I use this product every day for my kitchen scraps. It replaced the plastic food containers I had been using. It is so handy and I like that there is a lid and that it keeps out the odors. Plus, I like that when it is full, I can just carry it out by the handle and dump the scraps in my compost pile. It is very sturdy, attractive, and holds a lot. The hassle is gone!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I bought this for my mother. She loves having compost for her garden and this is perfect for her kitchen.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We bought the cobalt blue crock and it is very attractive on our kitchen counter. The whole point was to have something for our kitchen scraps to accumulate that looked nice and didn't smell. We are using the filters & the compostable bags. Not one bit of odor. So we are pleased.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Be careful setting this down on a hard countertop; it chipped the first time I set it down on the kitchen counter. Now I set it down on a potholder to protect it and my granite countertop... I would get the lighter weight stainless steel one next time. It's convenient to have this in the kitchen, though, but it's a bit too big to leave out on counterspace except when using it. It works well with the bio-bags. It has good capacity, too.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We had been composting kitchen scraps in a plastic butter container but the lid was too hard to take off for my husband with arthritis. This composter is pretty on the counter, contains odors and EASY OPEN!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Love this item, makes it much easier (and likely) to compost everything I should.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
very handy for in the kitchen. great for kitchen scraps and spent cut flowers. very attractive and oddor free.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We broke our first one. This one works fine, but seems smaller than the first one. I'm not sure whether it's the same product or only similar. In any case, it's very useful and attractive.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Besides garnering me several complements on how attractive this composters is it really does its job wonderfully.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This crock sits on my kitchen counter and looks great. There is no lingering odor.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This looks great in the kitchen, Does not offset the image of a holder for table scraps.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We recyle all that we can and food scraps is just one this makes it easy to have on the conter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
No more messy compost containers to wash!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We have this beautiful white crock sitting on the counter by the sink. Virtually oderfree with the charcoal filter. The bags that go with it, keep cleanup to a mininum and no pesty little flys. We just love it. When it is full we throw the bag in the compost bin and rinse the crock and put a new bag in it.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
love it. looks nice on the counter. ordering another one for my mom!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I didn't always like going to the compost pile esp. in winter I can store a lot of scraps before
emptying now. It's attractive on my counter Love it.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The first time i used it, it chipped when the lid was replaced. When it was full, I brought it to the garden composter outside and one of the arms snapped completely off when the handle was turned back to the upright position. It's way too delicate to be a useful gardening tool. I'm still using it but it looks awful and I have barely paid for it. I'm really disappointed!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This looks so pretty on my countertop. If you open the lid, it STINKS, but with the lid on there is no trace of odor, even if you don't empty it frequently. Very nice quality and large enough to not have to empty it daily.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It is very attractive and there is absolutely no odor at all.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This product looks so nice on my kitchen counter, much better than an old cracked bowl for all the kitchen scraps, coffee grounds, etc.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I purchased this for my kitchen. I initially used it without liner bags, but found it easy to clean and odor free. I've since begun using it with the biodegradable bags, making cleanup and transport to the bin a breeze!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I had a similar compost crock bought from Gardeners Supply many years ago which worked beautifully and lasted well. This one is a much cheaper quality, thinner pottery and broke with just a "tap". The top did not fit tightly either.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Very attractive way to collect kitchen waste prior to composting.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Works well especially when paired with the bio bags
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Very attractive & just the right size for our small city apartment. Odor-free with charcoal filter; biodegradable bags permit easy disposal--I don't have to run the whole crock down to the "green" garbage bin.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Keep it next to the kitchen sink. Very handy but somewhat small if you add scraps while preparing a meal. It will fill up quickly! Mine came with a chip in the base despite being well packaged. The bags being sold separately are a little big for this crock.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
There's no excuse not to compost with the convenience of this canister right on the kitchen counter. It hides compostable material with no odor until you're ready to empty it outside.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love the red color! It looks nice on the counter and it's easy to put kitchen scraps into. Also love that it is truly odor free!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I LOVE this compost crock in my kitchen. It's attractive and fits right in with our other kitchen decor. I use a bio bag so I don't have to wash it all the time and the carbon filter in the top keeps odors at bay. We do generate a lot of scraps so I have to empty in the outside bin almost every day but I wouldn't really want anything much bigger on the counter anyway.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It is very attractive in the cobalt blue and functions well. The handle was a problem the first time we used it to carry the crock outside. It fits very tightly against the porcelain knobs where it attaches to crock, so that when you raise the handle or lower it it scores a line into the knob which then makes the knob snap off very easily. We removed the handle and glued the knob back on. So we think the handle should be redesigned but we liked it enough to keep it because other than that it is good.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I just got my first compost this Christmas and want to put all the coffee grounds, egg shell, fruit/vegetable peelings in there. It was a hassle going out all the time, which is why I bought this one (cobalt blue to match the tiling in the kitchen). It holds more than you think and there is no odor at all. I love it!!!!!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I wrote a review about this crock in January about my crock breaking because the handle kept falling off. I received a new crock and the handle is much more secure which gives me more confidence carrying it out to my compost pile without the handle separating from the crock causing it to shatter - as my last one did. I'm assuming that my original crock's handle was defective; therefore, if all the crocks' handles are like my current one then I recommend this as a perfect counter compost collector.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This product is great for kitchen scraps of all kinds. It doesn't smell at all. It looks very pretty on the counter.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We recently replaced the kitchen compost crock we bought from Gardener's Supply Co. a few years ago. The new version is still an attractive kitchen accessory, but the redesigned cover fails to adequately hold in the carbon filter. We've already lost one filter into the bowels of the compost heap. Please reinstate the old, well thought out design.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I USE IT FOR ALL COFFEE GROUNDS & FOOD SCRAPS.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We don't even have a garden (or a yard), but my husband HATES the smell of trash in the kitchen, so I bought this for him to prevent a daily run down to the trash room. Problem solved! Smells are gone, when used with carbon filter. We also use the biobags which make cleanup a snap. Love this product! Oh--and we loved it so much, we bought one for my parents who have been composting for decades!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
What I like about this product is that it is attractive and
can hold a lot of kitchen scraps. It isn't huge but I don't want to
compost in my kitchen. And the price was great.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Bought this crock about a year ago. Love its look on my counter. good capacity, easy to clean and odor free. but I've almost broken several times because the handle doesn't stay secure very well. Today I ran out of luck and the handle fell off when I was emptying it, hit a rock and broke in many pieces. would buy again if I knew the handle would stay secure but guess I'll be looking into stainless.

This product is just what I wanted to put my kitchen scrapes in before I take them out to the compost pile. Plus it looks great on the counter. I only wish it was a deeper red color.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Just had this product for a short time but so far it's been odor free. We plan to purchase the bio bags - just haven't gotten that done yet. Good looking crock and a good size for our use - there are two of us.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
perfect container for holding kitchen waste until convenient to take to outdoor compost bin. attractive. fits in with kitchen decor.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
People are using this to compost in? We use it to gather our kitchen decomposables that the chickens won't eat. We mostly use it for banana peels and coffee filters and rotten pieces of vegetables. Looks a lot better than the corningware dish we used to use for years. I love this thing.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
My husband has a composting area and has enlisted my help in saving kitchen scraps, coffee grounds, etc. to add to the compost. My frustration was there was always something in the sink or on the counter that needed to be added. What an unsightly mess! Now we have this attractive compost crock and we both are happy.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
A beautiful, odor-free, way to collect our cooking scraps for composting.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I purchased this item for my mother, who has always recycled kitchen scraps into her garden compost. The kitchen compost crock has solved several problems that have pleagued her kitchen for as long as I can remember. There are no longer gnats or sour smells to worry about and the nasty, no lid container she used has been replaced by a beautiful crock with a lid! There are no complaints about collecting kitchen scraps now!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Very nice way to be eco friendly!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love this product - it is the 2nd one I have purchased. I dropped the lid and broke it, so I ordered another as a replacement! This product has cut down on our amount of trash - all the scraps now go out to the big compost tumbler when the crock is full!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This compost scrap holder sits on the counter, but doesn't look like a "scrap holder". It holds quite a bit,(less trips outdoors)and the filter does a terrfic job - no odors!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
nice looking, goes in any kitchen
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It looks good on the kitchen counter and holds enough to last several days. Easy to carry out and so far- no smell. Better priced than the same item other places.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Great for storing all my veggies before going into my composter. Attractive and has a decent capacity. Doesn't smell at all.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I've bought this item for two family members as a gift, and it is always well-received! The item is a good size for the kitchen use, keeping it tidier and fruit-fly free!
The only drawback on this item is that since it is ceramic, it is breakable, and my Dad has broken his.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I got it in blue. It is very attractive on the counter, but it does seem to chip easily.

I get to margarine bowl off the counter and have this attractive crock to replace it!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It's great sitting in the counter, looks nice and makes it easy to save scraps for compost.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
this container is great - it sits out on the counter near the sink so that all kitchen scraps can easily be put it. Then when full, it is emptied in a compost area in the garden. Great for the soil and great for the environment.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
My only complaint is that the bottom of the crock is rough and scratches my counter-top. If you get one for yourself, I recomment placing it on a coaster or trivet to prevent this from happening to you.

Holds all scraps for the week before I have to dump.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The top knob is not easy to grip and I keep breaking the ceramic lid when the lid slips out of my hand and it hits the crock. I'm getting the stainless steel crock to replace my white ceramic one.

We are new to composting, and have really enjoyed this unit. It has ended our habit of using the disposal for most everything in the kitchen, and we feel good about the fact that we are doing something good for our envvironment!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
this crock pot for compostable food scraps is decorative and functional and the handles make it easy to carry to the mulch bin

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We bought our first crock last year. Our kids (grown) loved it and asked for their own for Christmas.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
So far so good, I use it for every day kitchen scraps and it does not smell.
Coffee grounds, tea bags, egg shells, peels, etc.
I use it to collect worm food and everything else goes into a large compost bin.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We've gotten into the habit of keeping it right next to the sink and now automatically discard vegetable waste into it, and then take the whole unit to our compost pile outdoors. The current model is much easier to clean than its predecessor.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Bought one for myself and gifted one to my daughter-in-law. It's easy to use and so much
more attractive than a smelly reused container .

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I own..or should I say owned one and had it for years. Loved it. I finally cracked it and am looking to replace it. Nice to see that they have new colors! Would recommend to buy it to anyone.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The Kitchen Compost Crock is an attractive, convenient, addition to the kitchen. It saves many steps to the compost pile in the back of our yard and the composting process begins immediately.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
sits on my counter and looks good
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Under my sink to collect kitchen scraps, to take out to my ooutside compost pile. It has a cover and a filter on it my old pail had no cover of filter and at times it smelled.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great in our newly remodeled kitchen! Capacity is adequate and there have been no odors.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The crock is big enough to handle several days worth of kitchen scraps, looks great on the counter, cleans up in a snap, and is competely odorless. I love it and wish I had sent for it right away rather than try to get by with a lesser container.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I do a lot of juicing and this compost crock is ideal for tossing the pith into. It's easy to clean though I place plastic bags (from grocery store or from Gardeners.com) inside to hold the compost. This makes it easier to take scraps outside to either my worm bin or regular compost.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This attractive container sits on our counter top and does not look out of place. It holds the scraps and refuse from food preparation and has no odor. It makes meal clean-up so much easier.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I don't have room on the counter for one more thing, so this is stored under the sink. I imagined I would have to empty it more often, but even with watermelon rinds, things settle in and it holds a lot. I was worried about attracting little fruit flies, but there have been none. The filter has also worked well to keep odors at bay.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is a fine item for the kitchen. It is clean, nicely designed, well-made. The carbon filter prevents odor. It could stand to be a big larger, but is really excellent as it is. The biodegradable insert bags are unfortunately not waterproof, so that each time the bag is removed the crock needs to be rinsed out, but that is easy.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The kitchen compost crock is very attractive on my counter and is accessible. The filter prevents odor from escaping into the kitchen area. I would definitely recommend this item.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love this crock. There's no odor, even after two weeks of scrap collecting in the pail. I started out with a plastic pail with lid and had continual problems with odor, even though I emptied it frequently. Unlike plastic pails, this crock also cleans beautifully in the dishwasher and does not retain odors. The best part is that it's attractive so I don't mind keeping it out on the counter, making composting easy and convenient.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It is exactly as advertised. I did get the red one and it looks like a little fire-hydrant on my counter! Maybe it will be a good conversation starter and I can get all my friends hooked on counter-top composting!

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
When I ordered this, I had not seen anything like it anywhere, and thought it would be great for kitchen scraps so I wouldn't have to go out to my compoast pile everyday. However, imagine my dismay when, just a couple of days after receiving this in the mail, I found the identical item at a local store for half the price!!! I will probably not be ordering anything from you again without first double checking all over town to see if I can find it cheaper.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is wonderful compared to the plastic bag my husband left with scrapes in it........haha....actually it is a great product and does the job of saving scrapes for our compost outside....
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I dont think it needs the bags; I just wash it out every few days. The odor-filter is good.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Had for three years. Easy to clean in dishwasher. Sad the lid broke easily and also when I reordered odor filters they were too small. Was looking to replace with metal but decided they have problems too. Good item. Will stick with pottery.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Perfect and practical for the kitchen counter. Cobalt blue is beautiful and blends in with other containers already on the counter top. Good idea to get the bags. Keeps the inside clean. Easy disposal.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love the look, it sits on my counter. Have only had it two weeks and the seal will not stay in place. When the seal slips off the lid pops up and allows odor to escape. Would like to try another model.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
So easy to use. Looks right at home on the kitchen counter. Charcoal filter works well and for a long time.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is an attractive counter top container for kitchen scraps. It's only drawback is it's somewhat limited capacity.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I use this product in my kitchen to collect vegetable/fruit peelings and coffee grounds to add to my compost pile.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is a great product that hides your kitchen scraps discretely and is nice to look at.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Attractive enough to leave on the kitchen counter

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks so nice on my counter. Only down side is that fruit flies can get into the container.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I bougtht the kitchen compost crock to replace one we've been using for almost 10 years. The old one was really good, but was difficult to clean. The improved design of the new crock is much nicer and makes rinsing it out extremely easy.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Scraps holder. Odorless. None.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Have looked at this cute clean manner to hold scraps for the large composter for a while, but am very glad that I finally ordered this cute crock. It is easy to use, easy to clean and looks great in the kitchen.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The crock looks very nice sitting on my counter. I'm amazed at all I can stuff in it. It seems that you can stuff more in it if you cut things in small pieces. There is no odor so far, and it's been sitting in a hot kitchen for a while...
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I transfer my kitchen compost to a bigger compost in the garden. Ideal size and look for the kitchen.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We keep this container right out on the counter. It's much nicer looking than the old plastic container we used to use. Plus, it controls the odor even if we don't empty it every day.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Now we have no excuse. We're composting all kitchen scraps!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This has been a very helpful item in our kitchen and it looks nice as well. Everyone in our family is able to use it.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love my composting crock! It sits on the kitchen counter, next to the sink. With only two of us, it can be a while between emptyings and there is zero smell! I use the degradable bags in it, but they sometimes dissolve before the crock is full. One thing I would change is to completely glaze the lid - there is an unglazed ring at the very bottom edge - it collects mildew and it is almost impossible to clean that unglazed edge. Oops, make that two things; I'd more securely fasten the wire handle on the crock. My husband almost dropped it down the cellar stairs because he was holding it by the handle. Bad idea. :-)
Otherwise, I think this is a wonderful product.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Just insert the filter in the lid, insert the bio bag in the container and use. When full take the bio bag to the composter and toss bag with contents, no smell or mess.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I am very happy with the product. I have always taken the kitchen raw scraps to the compost and this is a pretty, plus practical container.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It's a very attractive & useful product. There is no odor when the filter is used however, the filter needs to be a little larger so it fits properly in the lid. The filter falls out of the lid, into the scraps & mold begins to grow on the filter. It's the right size so it fits nicely on the counter and it's attractive looking. The compact size helps keep the scraps out of the house & in the compost pile where they belong. The handle is easily removed for cleaning but it sometimes falls off so it needs to fit just a bit more securely.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I bought 2 of these for my hubby. (He had a makeshift compost pail on our counter). One we use for kitchen scraps and the other for coffee grounds (for convenience only). They're great. Cute...attractive..no odor...I love the color...easy to use and get the compost (bags) out of. He is very happy with them.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
used for kitchen garbage. again, much to heavy for me to move around.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
next to the kicthen sink
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I don't like the the way the handle won't stay on the pegs and the bags i bought to go inside everyone used so far leak so cannot just pick them out of compost crock. Wished i would not have kept it.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Had one for years and give them as gifts!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Used for all my kitchen scraps, egg shells, coffee grinds, etc. It is a great container to keep these items in before going to the compost bin.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I like the idea of creating my own rich soil and at the same time reducing the landfil requirement.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
hand for collecting kitchen scraps--attractive
enough to sit out on the kitchen counter. The disposable bags fit very well in it.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Nice to have available when cooking to put scaps in immediately.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We previously used a large coffee can to put all our kitchen scraps, so this is much more attractive, but we had bugs in the container when only half full. We have now plugged the holes in the top with masking tape, so we'll see if that solves the bug problem.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great in our red kitchen. it really doesn't smell at all, even with bananas and old rotten fruit in it. we take it to the composter about every two weeks and rarely smell it. we use the biobags to contain the coffee ground, and it works well.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The crock looks good on my kitchen counter,is easy to use, dosen't smell,I really like everything about it, I wish there was a yellow one.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The cobalt blue compost crock sits on my counter and fits right in with my decor. It's surprising how quickly it becomes a second nature to put the kitchen scraps and coffee ground in it. I also got the liners and they work great.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
looks fine on the kitchen counter, holds about a weeks worth of our kitchen scraps, so far we have had no problem with odor even though only empty once a week.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The red crock looks great in my strawberry kitchen. With the filter, no odor even when the scraps have been in the crock for over a week.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I like red, so of course that is the one I chose. I was pleased that it was not a "fire engine red" -- suits my decor better. Looks nice on my counter and works well. Easy to carry out to the compost area. No odor. No insects. Good job!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I bought this to replace another one I had that frankly was unattractive, and didn't want on my counter. This is so attactive and cute. I do wish it was a little bigger to hold more, but then again, it might end up being an eye sore.
The bio-bags are great, but seem way too big for this crock. All in all, very satisfied.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love the look of this pail. I was happy with it in the beginning, but the handle falls off all the time. You can not depend on the handle. Today the handle fell off on the way to the compost pile and the pail fell and broke. I am on this website to order another one - this time stainless steel!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I do like the product and it is attractive, but I'd like it even better if it was made from aluminum or steel...would be lighter, and no chipping!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Perfect for all the samll kitchen scraps. Looks great too!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Much more attractive than the bowl of decomposing kitchen scraps we had before. Plus, with the charcoal filters, there is no odor.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks Great on the kitchen counter. Charcoal filter is wonderful. We have not noticed any odor from the coffee grounds or scraps we put into it. We empty it about once a week into our outdoor composter. Looked at several models, but this was the nicest looking and better priced.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Besides it looking good in the kitchen, it is easy to take out to our large composter in the garden. Love the handle.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
For now, I use it only to collect coffee grounds for the garden. It served that purpose perfectly and doesn't take up too much space on the counter. The mobile handle also makes it easy to carry outside and scoop directly from the container. I just wish it had come with more filters or that I had bought more replacements at the same time.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I saw this compost container on a friend's kitchen counter. It was so attractive, I asked her where she got it so I could purchase one myself. Sure beats the old plastic container I used before.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I keep this compost crock on my kitchen counter, and it makes it much easier for me to save scraps for the composter. I used to use a bowl, and I had to empty it every night. I can wait a few days with the crock. The only problem is that the filters do get moldy fairly quickly. I just ignore that. . . .
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I now have two. Absolutely no odor. Output is excellent. Doesn't look at all like what it is--appears to be a kitcen decoration on the counter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Works well as a holding container in the kitchen before transporting the contents to the bin outside.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This item was purchased as a gift for my son-in-law who is very much into composting and gardening. I haven't used it myself; however, when it arrived and I opened it, I was very pleased with the quality.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is a great product as it has lessened the number of trips I have to make to the composter (located in the backyard).
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Attractive enought to leave on the counter which makes collecting kitchen scraps easy to do and remember
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Great purchase. Very useful and hygienic.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
looks great in my kitchen
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Great for getting rid of kitchen scraps quickly, fewer trips to the compost.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We use the crock for all of our kitchen compost waste and it is SUPER - convenient, attractive and Saves time!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I have this on my kitchen counter and use it for scraps and coffee/tea grounds.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Prior to purchasing this crock, I kept a plastic shoe box on my kitchen counter to collect items for the compost bin. It wasn't very attractive. This looks so much better and no one would know that it contains scraps for the compost bin! I also bought the bags that fit in the crock and decompose as well.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I really like this composter. It really is odor free as long as you empty it at least once a week.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Since placing this attractive container by my kitchen sink, I have noticed several friends with much less appealing solutions (large bowl with a plate on top). I appreciate the design of my crock even more! It's the nicest I have seen anywhere.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I fill mine up about 2 times a week and have no real odor problem with the charcoal filters. My problem is the handle slips off sometimes and now I have a crack form dropping it when the handle came off. I've owned it for about 5 years and really like it.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
We use the compost crock daily. It does not smell and looks nice. The size works well for us, because we would not want anything bigger on our counter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Nice piece, but I'm a little concerned about chipping and cracking. Having said that, it has bounced off my kitchen sink a few times with no sign of damage. Any bigger and it would be obtrusive on my counter. Any smaller and I would be making too many trips to the composter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
i found a similar composter at a discount store but it did not come with any replacement filters so this one was a good buy.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Sitting next to the sink, it is very handy, attractive and odorless. It makes it easy to compost.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love it. Only problem I had was it wasn't the bright red the picture said it was.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This container is perfect for what I use it for. I needed something to sit on my kitchen counter to put my veg. scraps in. When it is full I take it to my compost pile. It is attractive and with the carben filters there is no odor. I liked it so well I bought one for my daughter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Perfect way to encourage composting by having an attractive container to deposit fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and other compostable kitchen waste. Looks great on the counter. Was a great gift for my new-gardener, composting daughter.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Cleans up nicely
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The Compost Crock's attractive design makes collecting Kitchen scraps more appealing.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Would like to see the product with a rubberized bottom of some sort. I would prefer it have some sort of cushioning against my granite counter tops that would keep it from sliding.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
My small kitchen appliances are red so the crock fits right in. I put coffee grounds, spent flowers, peelings from potatoes and fruit and add everything along with the bag to my little compost pile.(The bag makes it easy to transport to the compost pile but so far the bags haven't decomposed.) I don't have compost yet but hopefully I will soon. I add grass clippings, weeds, old potting soil, etc. and stir it around. I like the crock very much and I'm glad I bought it. I plan to get one for my co-worker for her birthday.

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I use it every day for kitchen scraps. The only thing I didn't like was the tendancy for the handle to come off of one side when bumped; it comes off easier than it goes back on.
[2 of 2 customers found this review helpful]
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The handle is very insecusre. Even with trying to tighten it, it still is in a "must watch situation". If you try, and it is not easy, to tighten the handle too much it looks like you would break the container. The way it is set up it slids off the stub or holder way too easily. When you pick it up by the handle you have to really make sure that it is on and then I still hold it from the bottom.
Other than that the container is very attractive and fits in on the kitchen counter like it belongs there.
You should also include two charcoal filters instead of one! Thanks, Jack Cary

Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love this compost crock. It holds a lot, so it sometimes sits on the counter for several days before being emptied, and I haven't had a problem with odors at all. It is easy to clean as it is dishwasher safe. I have the red one, and the color is bright and cheery and goes great in my kitchen. It is a tiny bit rough on the bottom, so I set it on a little cork mat to make sure it doesn't scratch the counter, but that is the only drawback I have found.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This kitchen compost container is lovely, classic in design. It holds a lot and i have had no problem with smell, with or without the filter (I do empty it frequently). My only complaint is that the bottom of the container is a bit rough, and when I pull it from the back of the counter to the front to place vegetable matter inside it scratches my wood counter top. I need to get felt or some other smooth material for the base so it does not scrtach the counter surfaces.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I like the idea that i can leave the composter on my counter top an no one knows that its a composter. Comments are that it is a cute cookie jar.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
With 3 kids,we usually have so much food scraps left over. It all goes into the kitchen composter, till we have a chance to empty it into the large one in our back yard. It is large enough to go 4 or more days before emptying it. No smells. I just wish more filters came with it.
I have even given this as a gift!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I am new to composting and have put it off for a long time as I thought it would make my kitchen smell. This product is not only attractive but I forgot to empty it for 3 weeks and filter contained all the odors. Its perfect.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This sure beats the frequent trips to the composting tumbler. Have successfully gotten the entire family to get involved in composting by having this sitting on the shelf. It's actually more convenient than the trash can...which is the only thing that works with young adults.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
The filter works well and the unit not only fits in my decor, but it doesn't take up too much space on my counter. It's easy to go from the kitchen to the garden with it's well secured handle.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I was using an old coffee can prior to purchasing this item and this works great. Not only is it attractive on the coutertop, the carbon filter works great to prevent odor.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This sits right by our kitchen sink. There is no smell even when left full. It is very easy to open, empty and wash out when needed. Soon after getting it we had to tighten the handle around the posts cause it would slip off and we were afraid of breaking it.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great on the kitchen counter. Easy to clean. No odor even when not emptied until filled to the brim.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
the container is so much more attractive than the open dish I had before. No one even asked what it is for. I told my daughter about it and ordered her a stainless steel crock.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I just love this crock. We have it sitting on our kitchen counter and it looks very pretty. Bought it for my husband, because he used to put scraps in plastic bags and it looked bad and sometimes it smelled a bit if he didn't take it out right aways. This crock has no odor that I can tell so far. I was a bit sceptical at first but I have yet to smell anything. Great product and look.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great on the counter, the filters keep the smell away and it's a great way to start composting.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Looks great and keeps odor out but the handles keep falling off.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Kitchen counter for scraps to be taken out to the compost pile.
Just right size, does't take up a lot of counter space.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
very attractive and well built. The carbon inserts eliminate odors and seem to last quite a while. Very easy to empty and clean out. Highly recommend this product
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
it looks great on my counter and it's so usefull!!!!
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This is pretty. It's just the right size. It keeps the odor in and the fruit flies away.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
Good looking in kitchen
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
I love this crock, especially with the biobags. It's easy to use and traps the odors completely. Using the biobags makes it easy to carry the compost out to the composter and dump it right in. The only thing that would make it better is if it was a little bit bigger.
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
It Looks good in the kitchen....
Comments about Kitchen Compost Crock:
This container is large enough to last us about a week of kitchen scraps on compostable goods. We opted for the insert bags that break down, for ease of cleaning. We did notice that if you load the container full so that compost touches the filter (inserted in lid), the filter can get a little yucky. But we washed off the filter and don't cram it full anymore. We have yet to notice any odors and we often put garlic leftovers in our compost. It also looks cute sitting our counter and we don't feel the need to hide it under the sink.

Looks great, much better than the bowl we used to use. Hides messy stuff (rotten bananas) bound for compost bin, and also hides odors. We take stuff to our compost bin daily; and my boys carry it by holding the bottom of the crock, not by the handle, and leave the lid inside to avoid breakage. The crock is coated on the inside, which helps with messes and odors getting into the crock.

We love the product because it has a larger capacity than our old one, an easier to remove top, and an overall attractiveness that we liked in our kitchen.

This is a nice looking compost crock with a good capacity if you empty your compost out frequently.
My only concern although it is heavy in weight and feels solid is that it may chip. I always tie off my compost bag and take that to the compost bin versus taking the compost crock and emptying it into the bin. I would be afraid to "bang" out any debris from the bin for fear of damaging the crock.

We use this on the kitchen counter-top for coffee grounds that I need to spread around our Blueberry Plants, to keep the soil acidic. Thank you so much for this perfect addition to our kitchen.
