I add the coir to all my vegetable beds before planting and I also use it around my other flowers and shrubs to keep the soil pliable and it works just great. I also use it in my composter to help break down the vegetation along with coffee grounds. As a result, my flower and vegetable gardens are just beautiful.

Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
This product is great for staring seeds. Does not weigh much when wet, so it's easy to transport. I like to mix it with compost to transplant seedlings. I love that it's a renewable resource, better than using peat moss.

Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
I love worm castings and tea, but in Ohio, it can be a bit of a challenge to access those year round. With my worm composter system set up in my greenhouse, I was worried about odor. However, with the coir as a base for my other additives, there is no odor and, to steal a phrase in the spirit of the season, my worms are "...snuggled all warm in their beds..."
Thanks, G.S.

Use it my process layer in the worm farm. It keeps their bedding aerated. Great for seed starting doesn't compact like peat moss. The cost is alot more than peat.

This is the perfect item for setting up worm trays. I get enough from one brick to establish two trays and it creates a perfect environment to raise worms. It holds moisture without becoming soggy or muddy is the perfect consistency on which to place pureed fruits and veggies for the little wormies to devour!!
Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
So easy to use. Doesn't take up much room to store extra. Just what my worms need!

this 1/2 brick is the perfect size for my worm factory, not too much nor too little, and is reasonably priced. keeps my little worms very happy. it holds moisture very well. only complaint i have is minor: it takes a long time for the water to be absorbed and it's hard to break apart before use. but i'm able to work around that.

I have not used this product yet, however, it is what is recommended and I expect it to work very well.
Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
I used this with compost and vermiculite as a seed starting medium and my seedlings are doing great! I found it easiest to use if it soaks for several minutes in the recommended amount of water. I especially appreciate it's compactness and light weight...so it's easily transportable!
Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
Worms seem to like it. I can't complain about the assembly - add water and wait. What else can I say? Worms are little digestive systems, they don't complain much and since they can't talk, I have to assume they are happy. It's easier than wetting down shredded paper.
Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
My worms have produced really well in this type of bedding. It is so easy to use and to install, it makes keeping my worm beds moist and productive so they can compost my garbage.
Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
I use the coir bricks as worm bedding and also to make my own seed starting mix. I have also used it as a base for repotting plants that prefer a less acifdic pH than when using peat moss. I like the fiber content as it is much finer than spanghum peat moss and does not contain the heavy sticks pieces found in peat. I also like the fact that it is easy to store and does not take up a lot of space like a cubic bag of peat.
Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
This is a great alternative to peat for containers, small beds and small composters. Coir is a renewable resource, and is very easy to store the dry bricks on a shelf. But it does take a little time to reconsitute. I put two bricks in a 10 gal pail and add 4.5 gal of hot water and let them soak overnight. (A clean, recycled kitty litter pail is perfect.) The next day, I stir the coir up, and voila! It's ready. But it would not be convenient to make enough for a large garden. But for a small space gardener or container gardener, this is the best ecologically friendly alternative to peat, especially to make layers with potting soil and compost.

Perfect for worm composting.
Comments about Coir Worm Bedding:
Nice size for pots etc...but not very easy to reconstitute. Requires HOT water and patience and has a chemical smell not found with other coir products. Good moisture retention and works well as a mulch.

I use this product as the base for my worm chalet. It covers what I put in, eliminating smells, fruit flies and other common composting problems. It stores very compactly until I need it and mixes easily with shredded newspaper. The Ph is great in my houseplants and the absorbency is much better than peat moss. The worms love it.
