Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I love these gloves, I don't spend hours scrubbing my fingers and nails to get them clean anymore. Dirt doesn't get down in the gloves like other gloves. Great when working with mulch or water, hands don't get wet. I didn't know until I ordered a second pair to keep at Mom's house that they were washable, I will throw them in the next time. I absolutly love them.

Good BUT...
By glove collectorVerified Reviewer from Sacramento, CA on 6/5/2011
Pros:
Flexible, Good fit for small hands, Good Grip, Protective
Cons:
Can get stinky, Wear Out Easily
Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Light Gardening, Weeding
Describe Yourself:
Professional Landscaper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These are definitely my go-to gloves and I have more pairs than I can count. I really like the fit, I have fairly small hands so it's hard to find gloves that I can wear for hours on end (with no painful seams or knuckle chaffing). I also really like how they fit around the wrist, they don't let any dirt in.

BUT...
Almost every pair I have has little tears on my finger tips after only 1 growing season of use. My fingernails are pretty short, but are a bit higher than the flesh of my tips. I think anyone with longer fingernails would probably have tears pretty quickly.
Also, I left one pair outside one day in the summer and the plastic underside semi-melted and then cracked, ruining the pair.
One other thing--if you happen to get them wet or damp while working, take the effort to dry them properly. Otherwise, they get super stinky...and then your hands will stink the rest of the day.

I wouldn't wear these working with rock or stone, but for everything else these are great.

Best gardening gloves out there!
By MaddyVerified Purchaser from Ohio on 6/3/2011
Pros:
Durable, Good Grip, High Quality, Protective
Best Uses:
Heavy-Duty Pruning, Larger Gardening Jobs
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These are by far the best gardening gloves made. I was tired of the bulky, cotton gloves that quickly wore out and had holes on the fingertip. These are durable, very lighweight, and breathable. They are like second-skin. No bulk so it's easy to work with them on. Almost feels like you don't even know they're on! They do have a thick enough portion on the hand though so nothing will stick you if you're working with roses or thorn bushes, these do the trick and won't let the thorns go into your palms. I'm going to buy some for family too!

I'm sold on these gloves

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have purchased gloves from other stores, only to be disappointed with their performance; couldn't pick anything up, they got wet easily and clumsy. These gloves are great, my fingers are nimble for things I need to pick up, they don't get wet easily, they stand up to all of the things I do in my garden, pruning, digging, etc., and I just washed them for the first time and they washed up beautifully.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I ordered two pairs of these gloves- one pair to use at home, and the second pair to use at my 89 years old mother's. I have to hide them at mom's house so my sisters can't use them when they come to help! Not that I'm a stingy person, but I can't bear the thought of them being misplaced! The fit on these gloves is fantastic, and they are so flexible, you can do all kinds of delicate work, such as transplanting seedlings. Thus far, they are holding up very well.

Cons:
Not waterproof
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have very small hands and have always had trouble finding gloves that fit well enough that I wouldn't feel encumbered by them. As a result, I have made the mistake of gardening sans gloves way too many times. Cuts, broken nails, bites... not fun. Then someone gave me these as a gift and they were perfect!! They do not interfere with normal activity AT ALL. They are not the best for heavy-duty work or battling serious thorns, but for the lion's share of your gardening chores, they are super. They hold up really well, and the price is fantastic--I've bought multiple pairs so I could leave one at the office for lunchbreak gardening, etc.

I have tried lots of different gardening gloves. Not for really heavy work, like moving rocks, but wonderful for weeding, repotting, planting and most garden tasks.

I use these gloves for all of my yard and garden work and landscaping including planting, weeding and trimming. They are the most comfortable ones I have ever used. I have used the same pair for 3 months now and have been amazed at how well they work. My hands never sweat in them. The fabric breaths well. The nitrate coating is so light and shows no sign of peeling. I did get them wet and they dried quickly. Love them. I bought 3 more pairs to have on hand. Yard work sometimes is not what we look forward to, but the bright colors seem add cheer and fun to my work load.

Pros:
Breathable, Durable, Good Grip, High Quality, Protective, Warm, Washable
Cons:
Wear out eventually
Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Larger Gardening Jobs, Light Gardening, Oil painting, Pesticide/Chemical Use
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

In addition to being my favorite gardening gloves, these are the best I've found for oil painting. The nitrile palms protect my skin from the toxic chemicals on my paint rags, they are thin enough for dexterity using a palette and brushes, breathable, washable, easy on and off, and durable. I've used one pair for over a year. Other nitrile gloves I've tried are hard to get on and off, make my hands sweaty and last only for a few sessions before they need to be replaced. I recommend these gloves to all my artist friends.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have acrylic nails and sunblock tends to dissolve my polish, so my first thought was to protect my hands and arms from the sun and protecting my nails from sunblock. It was so nice to be able to feel and use my fingertips in gloves as if I had none on while planting tomatoes and other vegetables! I also used them when moving retaining wall blocks to keep myself from skinning palms and knuckles and they worked well for that type of work too. These fit very well. They did make my hands pretty warm though, so they might not be great in hot weather.

I have tried many different kinds of work gloves. All of them have been bulky and when they have gotten wet they have gotten stiff. The nitrile gloves are like wearing a second skin. You can feel the earth in your hands, yet you are protected.
I love them!

Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Larger Gardening Jobs, Light Gardening, Wet/Muddy Jobs
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These gloves do a great job at giving me the bare-handed like fine control needed at times in the garden. I would often get frustrated with other style gloves while, for example, weeding my well filled butterfly garden. However, these gloves are not ideal for jobs like pruning thorn bushes. I was pulling a dead rose bush while wearing them and the thorns were poking me through the glove. I had to switch back to my bulkier, heavy duty gardening gloves for that task.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I coat my hands with petroleum jelly then put on these gloves and wear them the entire time I'm gardening. They protect my hands while I'm pruning, raking or digging, but are tight-fitting enough to let me tie up green beans or tomatoes, and thin enough to feel roots and soils when planting. I started with one pair, and have ordered more for myself and to give as presents.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have used these gloves for just about every garden job and they do not fail to perform. I was not a glove wearer until I developed a painful reaction to my backyard soil 3 years ago. As long as I wear these gloves, no reaction. Here in So California, I can garden nearly year round. It took 3 years to wear out my first pair. I have regularly thrown them in the wash, let them air dry and they are good as new. Just started using my second pair last week.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These gloves set the bar for all others. My husband keeps bringing home others for me as presents, but they each get one use and go in the pile. These, on the other hands :-) are my daily companions. They don't wear out and are perfect for all kinds of gardening work. The only reason I keep buying more is that my sons and husband keep stealing them for THEIR projects (like using them in cement!), and they get stretched out and disgusting after that. I also use several pairs a day (getting them wet or muddy or pulling up poison ivy, etc.) and like to wash them at the end of a week.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

This is the first glove that I don't mind wearing. I can do delicate work with ease. I forget I have them on. The extra small size fit my petite hands perfectly, something I usually have trouble with. NO EXTRA finger length.
Only con is that they aren't water proof, but I don't care. NO MORE filthy finger nails!!!
I never write reviews but I like these so much I wanted to share. I definitely prefer these to my Mudd gloves.

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These gloves are my number one choice when I'm heading out into the garden. They are lightweight, comfortable to wear and give me the kind of dexterity I need for delicate jobs while offering protection for my hands from dirt and scratches. They are not completely waterproof and will get wet but they are the best gloves for most gardening work. In spite of their thin appearance they are very stong, surviving vigorous gardening and washing (incl. drying). Unlike many other gloves these have not ripped or disappointed me yet. Only the colours won't stay as vibrant after a while. Soil is tough to get out of any material. I have three of these (and was gifted other types) but I probably will get even more. The only thing they don't provide is warmth in the winter. But in warm weather, nothing is more comfortable than these.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I bought these gloves 2 years ago, just to try them out, as I hadn't found any that didn't crack or leak or get holes quickly. These lasted 2 seasons and then I lost one. This year I ordered 3 pairs just to make sure I always have a pair on hand.
They are lightweight & fit well, and therefore I feel I have more finger dexterity. They do make my hands sweat, and unless I wash them frequently they do get smelly.
This is definitely a great value and a great product!

Not waterproof, but they breathe, so your hands never get "clammy" like with some rubberized gloves. Very comfortable for a long afternoon of planting seedlings.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These gloves have been great in all kinds of garden work - hauling brush, pulling weeds, transplanting seedlings. They're durable and protective, but also really thin so I can feel exactly what I'm doing. They're not totally waterproof, but they are pretty water resistant, so they're great for wet and muddy work. Plus, they wash and dry easily.

I got my non-gardening husband a pair too; he uses his in the garage. He loves that he can pick up tiny nails with these gloves on: no more taking gloves on and off when he's working in a cold garage!

Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Larger Gardening Jobs, Light Gardening

Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have been using these gloves for many years as my standard, day-in-day-out choice for almost all gardening jobs. I don't even go out into the garden without them. The only time I don't wear them is when I need heavier back-of-hand and forearm protection for the really rip-em-up jobs.

They are the only gloves I've ever used that are comfortable enough to work in all day. They are MUCH cooler to work in than most gloves, and because they fit - well, like a glove! - they are totally flexible and functional. I am a real hands-in-the-dirt gardener - I need to be able to feel along those pesky weed roots, and these gloves let me do that.

The fingers are waterproof, and the nitrile coating is extremely tough; the backs, however, are not waterproof, which is what allows them to breathe and not get all hot & steamy & gross. They are extremely durable, nothing like the crummy imitations coated with some plastic that peels off immediately. I don't think I've ever worn a pair of these out, and they get heavy use.

Plus they're inexpensive, so I always buy several pairs at once. Buy bright-colored ones, so you won't lose them so easily!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These are great fitting gloves. I have small hands and most gloves are too large for me, especially in the finger length. The small size of the nitrile gloves fit me perfectly. I like the colors, how thin they are, the price, and of course the fit. I buy several pairs each summer since they will wear out with all the rocks I have to remove. I gave them to my sisters and brothers as gifts a year ago for Christmas and they wanted more gloves this year.

Perfect for weeding. Allows you to get a good grip on weeds and not get tangled up in your glove. Great grip! Not completely waterproof but do a good job of keeping most of the wet off.
Not recommended for heavy duty stuff- would wear out quickly.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

For 40 years I have tried to find the perfect gardening gloves for just light pruning and clean up in my garden. I am sure I have tried at least 20 different ones. I Love these. They do not get holes in the ends of the fingers and fit so comfortably without being bulky or too tight. I love the feel of pulling weeds and trimming without even feeling as if I have gloves on my hands.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

OK ladies, the first nice day this spring coincided with a morning manicure. I was sure I'd ruin it by gardening afterward but I was determined to garden! I put on my new Nitrile Gloves and went at it for six hours. Nary a chip nor crack in that manicure! Need I say more?

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I use these gloves for all my gardening chores--weeding, mowing, planting. Last year I had one pair and liked them so much that I bought two additional pairs for this year! These gloves are comfortable and stay in place. They are not bulky which allows for a good grip even when working on delicate garden jobs. They are not waterproof, but I still use them when working on wet and muddy jobs in my yard. They do keep my hands clean and mud from underneath my fingernails.

Bottom Line:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I'm so glad I snapped up a pair of these with my most recent order. I've been using the typical cloth/suede type, but there are countless times I really need some dexterity with my fingers. These gloves are ideal for that. I've used them in planting strawberry pots, weeding and deadheading, and transplanting small seedlings.

They're not terribly breathable, so my hands end up rather sweaty by the end of the session on a warm day, but since I'm typically a mess by then anyway, it's not a deal-breaker. I'll endure the heat for the ability to protect my hands while still getting to use my fingers nearly as easily as without gloves.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

Have tried many garden gloves over the years. Most have failed, and usually only the very high price gloves do a decent job. These gloves are moderately priced and are terrific. I like the bright color, so I can find them easily when I take them off and put them down in the garden. They are very lightweight. I keep them on for many jobs that I used to remove other gloves because they were too bulky.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

Light, but very durable garden glove for average gardening chores and more delicate tasks. I wear out at least one pair of gloves every year - not these! After a year and 1/2, I am just starting to wear-out the left index finger (usual wear spot for me). That would be my only improvement suggestion for these gloves - please better reinforce the finger tips. Otherwise they are great - sometimes I forget I have a pair of gloves on.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These are the gloves I use every day in the garden. They are very comfortable and lightweight. They give me the feel of using my bare hands in the soil while at the same time providing protection. Don't think, however, that you can use these with thorny plants. You will need much heavier gloves for that kind of work. But for digging, planting. light pruning and watering, these gloves are excellent everyday garden gloves.

Very good gloves.

Great glove for almost all types of gardening. They are not for cold weather work, for all chores where you need serious protection, or for working in heavy soils, but they are ideal for thinning and transplanting tiny plants. I grow hundreds of leeks and transplanting seedlings into their "trenches" is easy. With these gloves on, you can pick up one seedling at a time and put it in the earth.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

My sister in law gave me a pair of these two years ago, and I wore them out I used them so much. I bought two more pairs - one for the front yard and one for the back, so I would always have them handy. They make potting and transplanting so much easier, because you can still have the tactile sensations of bare hands, yet you keep your hands clean. Same with weeding. They held up a long time, considering I used them to pull out some briars and was surprised they didn't tear. After a couple of years, they did finally have a few small holes that let water in, so I replaced them. Well worth it!

Cons:
Not waterproof
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

The bright colors make them easy to find when you drop them in the garden. They wash well and can even be dried in the drier. But after multiple washings they begin to shrink and the nitrile gets "sticky". I go through a couple of pairs a season; but I use them daily. Scrape your finger nails over a bar of soap and apply a heavy duty moisturizer before you put them on and at the end of the day, your hands will look and feel like you went to the spa!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I love these gloves. They give me a lot of control and feel, almost as much as bare hands, but with cleaner fingernails. I wore them for almost every chore last summer, big and small. Which might explain why I wore holes in the fingertips by August, still I a was a little disappointed that I had to buy a new pair so soon. But they are the best gloves I have found so far and they come in XS which is very hard to find in the big box stores.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I hate to wear most garden gloves. They are often bulky and clumsy feeling. These give the feeling of wearing only a very light glove but with the nitrile coating, they do protect your hands and allow for more secure gripping. They are flexible allowing you to pick up small items and enabling you to handle delicate seedlings while planting. They wash well in the machine, very convenient! Love them!

I read an article in our local paper about 7 years ago and bought some. Had I known how difficult they were to find, I'd of bought more. After two years of wearing something different, I'm thrilled to have these again. They are functional & a real gem. They also come in longer lengths but I don't have roses any more so this was exactly what I wanted.
After washing them, don't put them in the dryer! They dry quickly.

They are great for weeding when the ground is a little damp. The only draw back is that you have to change gloves to work with biars. I carry a pair of leather gloves that are a little large and slip them over the Nitrile gloves. Works great.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I gave a pair to my female letter carrier and was surprised to see her wearing them in the frigid Wisconsin weather. She stated they were wonderful for handling the mail. She had them on under another pair of gloves then could slip the outer glove off when needed. They prevented her hands from cracking in the cold weather and the surface of the glove made it easy to sort through the mail. Rather like secretaries wear rubber finger cots. Think I will try mine for thumbing through papers and other craft work. In WI they work year round!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I ordered one pair last spring and liked them so well I ordered four more. Two of the new pair were a Christmas present to my adult daughter because I liked them so much. They fit like a 2nd skin and allow me to do tedious tasks with ease. I have very fragile skin and enjoy protecting my hands with these when I am stuffing "canvas" into the frame of our pop-up camper when we are folding it up. It has saved me several skin tears for even non-gardening duties like this. I now keep a spare pair in theglove compartment of our SUV for unexpected chores. I am allergic to latex but the nitrile does not bother me. The colors are very attractive and the gloves are super comfortable to wear.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I won't buy any other gardening gloves. Have been using these for a few years now and absolutely love them. They do wear out faster for heavy duty usage, but worth every penny, so buy several. My husband builds ponds and these are perfect for him because they're light weight and allow you to do delicate things that other gloves are too bulky for. Because he does heavy duty projects, they wear out faster, so he goes thru 2 or 3 pairs a season, but for your average gardening/outdoor chores, they will last a season or two, or three. And they wash up great.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I took these gloves along when I helped remodel my son's home. Believe it or not, I used them when I laid ceramic tile and grouted it. They did not tear, even when I used my hands to scrape together the little sharp shards of cut tile! After 3 weeks of remodeling (heavy duty work,) I threw the gloves in the washer, and am still using them for gardening. Yes, I'll buy more!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I am not a glove person. I always feel clumsy when I have gloves on. I usually end up taking gloves off within 5 min of any gardening project but these gloves are different. I bought them on a whim when ordering some other stuff and I use them all the time from start to finish. They aren't too hot, fit great, you can work like you don't have gloves on and your hands stay clean. I have since bought them as gifts for both my parents.

I've been using these gloves for a couple of years and keep several pairs, washing them after each use. I probably have over a dozen cycling through at any given time. They wash well, don't show wear, and the only reason I ever really need more is that my boys and husband (with huge hands!) stretch them out and use them working with cement!

Powerhouse Gloves

Delicate Jobs, Heavy-Duty Pruning, Larger Gardening Jobs, Light Gardening, Pesticide/Chemical Use, Wet/Muddy Jobs
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

Most garden gloves are simply too bulky and/or don't fit the hand. These gloves actually fit my hands. Although I will use them for all gardening tasks, my best uses are for potting shoots and planting seeds. This is a product that addresses the issue of "Why don't they make a glove, etc...?" I'm giving them to my gardening friends this year!

Really nice for the price!
By J.Verified Purchaser from Virginia on 12/1/2010
Pros:
Good Grip, Great for mild gardening, Protective
Cons:
Not for sharp plants
Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Light Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Getting Started
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These are really nice, and my first pair of REAL gardening gloves. Super lightweight, and the color makes me smile (purple) and they are perfect for weed pulling and my 'porch-gardening' as I like to call it. The price is extra nice as I saw a pair of similar gloves in [...] for several dollars more and in a much more boring color. I gave it 4 stars because they are very thin and some of the weeds I pulled actually poked through a little but it sure beat doing it with my bare hands and I like how flexible they are and not awkward like leather ones. Will buy more pairs in the future!
