We just built a custom home that has a wonderful entry with slate floors. A bench sits to the side in the hallway so that shoes can be removed comfortably and placed on the boot tray underneath. We are considering purchasing another one of these sets. I wish that a half-sized set existed for one of our other doors. We originally bought two less than $10 trays from an unnamed home improvement store. They were flimsy, lacked the raised rubber grid, and were shallow. The GSC is 10 times better. The industrial rubber mat lifts the shoes about 1 1/2"s so that the snow and muck melts away, and the shoes dry quickly. Impressive product!

Very durable tray - I use them at the backdoor to hold boots, garden clogs, muddy shoes. We have been buying cheapo/cruddy boot trays for years now to keep our snow boots in and each year they crack, leak, spill etc. We could not find any thing out there worth buying. Finally this year I folded and bought these after eyeballing them for almost a year or so.
Yes they aren't cheap but yes they aren't build cheap either. They are well worth it and if I had to do it again I would probably buy the jumbo size just to give me a little more wiggle room.
Make sure to get the grids with them though.
The only down side is that they smell a bit strong when you first get them but nothing that a couple of nights outside did not fix.

We own 3, first as a test and then two more. One holds 4 pairs of shoes/boots inside back door. The other two are under potted plants to catch & hold excess water. The thick rubber insert keeps the pots out of the water and should make cleanup easier.

I originally purchased this mat to place at the back door for our wet and muddy shoes and boots. Although I had measured our space carefully, the tray was just too big for the space. I will find another use for it since it is well made and very sturdy. I ended up purchasing two of the small boot trays to accomodate the rubber inserts that came with the large tray which allow shoes and boots to drain and dry nicely while the tray itself keeps dirt and grime well contained and off the floor. We live in a northern state and tramp around in boots for much of the year. These are the BEST boot mats we've ever found. Great design - they allow the mud and water that otherwise just melt on other mats and then stay on your boots, to melt in the bottom section away from your boots. I originally bought this set for our winter boots, but got the big idea to make a large, automatic watering system for my garden plants while on vacation. I purchased a roll of wicking material, cut it to size with excess at each end and between the rubber inserts, filled it with water and set my pots on top. My plants thrived while we were gone for the week and they didn't soak up too much water. The moisture level was perfect. I love this system so much that I purchased another set! And I have a winter boot tray for both mudroom and laundry room, so they are used year round.

I am using this tray to start my seedlings for my garden as I do not have a greenhouse. It fits perfectly on a long table that sits in the sun. I am able to water the pots without worrying about water leaking. I even left my planted seeds for 3 days by leaving water in the tray. It was great to not have to worry about them drying out.

I placed decorative rocks on the inserts and filled with water to create a moister environment for my orchids. I had looked at trays designed for this use and they were very expensive (usually made of some metal). This tray fit my stand perfectly and does the job.

I have not used my boot tray yet. I am re-modeling my side entry that has a 3'x 3' landing
with stairs going to the kitchen and stairs going to the basement. I have planned a recessed area into the basement stair wall and it is big enough to hold the boot tray. I am looking forward to not having boots and shoes in front of the door we all the time and a place to catch all the melting snow from our Michigan winters.

I was being overrun with childrens boots this winter, standard trays just weren't big enough. Since this tray has arrived all snow boots have had a place to dry without making a puddle on the floor, I have also been able to add a pair of my own to the line-up! Although I wish that it were somehow a little bit cuter, this tray and insert are very functional and several people have commented on the nice large size, which suits a family and is hard to find elsewhere. We are a no shoes in the house family and live in a rainy climate. We also do beach walks almost every day. We are always on the lookout for well made products to make life easier and this substantial boot tray suits the bill. We would have given 5 stars but wish the tray were not quite so deep. It takes up more room than is necessary for the depth of shoes and boots.

The large boot tray set is perfect for 4+ adult sized boots. It's wonderful to walk in the door and drop the boots in the tray. No more melted puddles of water on the floor to step in! Road salt ads color to the boot tray but I'd rather have the melting salt in the tray than on the floor.
