The perfect match for today’s sleek, modern kitchen, this pail is also extremely practical. Stainless steel won’t take on the odors or colors of onions, garlic and other pungent food scraps. It easily rinses clean and is dishwasher-safe, too.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Easy to store little kitchen scraps when you don't have the time to run them up to your compost bin, it has enticed me and my family to start composting! However, I do also reccomend 'BioBags' to go with it, they are good for the kitchen composter because it saves you a good wash!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
we have had this pail for less than a year and there are now several holes in the bottom and a couple on the sides. we put a plate underneath it to catch the leaks after it got the first couple holes, so we could continue using it, but even that isn't holding it now. all it does is sit on the counter so i am thinking the holes are because it is low quality metal and the compost is eating away at it? whatever the reason--it sure isn't doing the earth any favors if you need to throw out and replace a metal bucket every year.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I love the capacity as well as the ease of being able to empty it onto my compost pile
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this to collect compostable scraps in the kitchen. It's sturdy, attractive, and doesn't smell (although I empty it frequently, so I don't know how long you could go and still say that).
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It sits right by the sink...it's great!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We have gone through two of these, and just asked for our money back. They must be made of cheap chinese SS, as they both pitted and the rust spots became leaks, that leaked onto the countertop. Would not recommend.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Empty each evening, wash in dishwasher at night and ready to use the next morning.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is great - we've been using it for about a month now, no issues whatsoever. It looks nice sitting out on the counter & since space is at a premium here in Brooklyn, NY the holding capacity is perfect. My husband and I manage to fill it up during the week and I add it to my compost bin on the weeekends - no odors, no fruit flies, easy empty and clean.
I prefer this simple, sturdy pail to the ceramic versions out there! Super practical, no fuss and looks great.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Nice stainless bucket at nice price. No corrosion problems yet (bucket is emptied every other day, rinsed after each emptying). Lid seals well enough to keep out pharaoh (aka: sugar, [*]) ants. Only complaint is spot-welded handles (on bucket & lid). The lid has a screw-on handle, but the screw-on post is spot welded. Welding not only increases corrosion susceptibility, but is not as easily repaired as a screw.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I got this item to collect coffee grounds at work for my compost pile. Looked nice and I used it 1 week. Brought it home to empty for the weekend and ran it once through the dishwasher to keep it shined- it came out rusting on the outside surfaces. Poor quality steel.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This little can looks clean and nice on my kitchen counter and makes it easier for me to gather the organic waste and the bio-bags makes it very easy to toss into my compost.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Rather than using it for scraps, it is ideal for holding those stinky little doggie bags until trash day. It seals tightly, so no escaping odor, and it is attractive on the patio. It is just what I needed!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Would NOT buy this again. It leaks, its disgusting. Even tried leaving the lid off. Still created stains on our counter top and window sill.
Wish I could get my money back.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Allready discolored.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I was extremely pleased with the hefty quality of this pail from the minute I lifted it out of the box. It is sturdy with a tight-fitting lid that allows me to fill it up with about a weeks worth of kitchen scraps before I take it outside to put in our yard composter. I would not hesitate to recommend this top-notch composting pail.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Very easy to clean inside of bucket
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Fits well under my sink and looks good on the counter. Lid fits tight enough to keep in odors when we only empty it every few days.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail is just the right size for me. Holds enough kitchen scraps, but not so much that the stuff starts going bad. Stainless steel makes it a whiz to clean. Looks attractive on counter top. Great product.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We keep it near our food prep and put anything compostable in it. When it's full we empty it into our compost bin and rinse it out. This is often enough for it not to smell bad.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I bought this to replace a cheap plastic container I had sitting on my cupboard for compost items. This looks sooo much nicer and at least so far no odors escape. Easy to clean up and easy to carry to the compost pile in the far back yard.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We use this container to hold our kitchen scraps etc. and it is very handy. We do not have to run scraps out everyday and there is no smell. Great product
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The XL plastic yogurt container was too small for my kitchen composting, this is just right and the tight fitting lid works very well. Before purchasing I found an online review that advised the filtered compost containers are a pain and the stainless pail is the real deal. The guy was right. This is just what I needed.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We are very pleased with the compost pail. It is just the right size for our needs. Very easy to carry and great to wash. It is very sturdy and nice to look at. We would highly recommend it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This little pail holds a lot! There is no odor when the top is in place- so this is just what I was looking for!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like the wide mouth on the pail for using with bio-bags, it's easy to remove the bag when full. I also have one of the pretty ceramic pails but the mouth of that pail is smaller and harder to get out a full bag of kitchen waste. However this pail does not come with a filter (most others do) and needs to be emptied more often, esp. with onion peels or shrimp casings smelling up the kitchen every time you take the lid off.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I keep the pail under the sink and it contains odors well. It is perfect for one week's capacity; I empty it into the compost pile on weekends. Like other users I have noticed a bit of premature rusting or blackening inside the pail, but it is still perfectly functional. I actually purchased this with the bags, which I would not recommend as the bags leak and take forever to decompose (see my separate review for the pail+bags combo). I wanted to review the pail on its own to reflect that I do like the pail and recommend it, despite not liking the bags.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Cute and just the right size. Takes up less space on counter top because of its design.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It looks great and functions well...except for the small corrosion holes that developed within a few months of use. Seeing daylight through your compost pail isn't good. I used this to keep kitchen scraps in until I could get them to my Bokashi container. I would suggest either a liner for this pail (sort of defeats the purpose though) or switching to ceramic. [...]
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail is great if you want a simple yet roomy pail to hold your daily scraps. It is pretty, smells and stains wash out easily, does not leak, no filters to change, and can go in the dishwasher. How easy is that!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The was a green team purchase. We put it in our company breakroom to start a composting project. So far so good! Holds coffee grounds and minimal organic waste for a week before it is emptied. Keeps odor down and looks nice.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Great compost pail for kitchen scraps. Looks nice, great handle, easy to clean and keeps odor out of the kitchen!!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I've had this compost pail(s) for a little over a year now and I love it, except for one recurring problem. It is attractive, holds a fair quantity of compost scraps, and with the handle is easily tranported to the composter. The problem is that after a relatively short time corrosion spots start to appear and pinholes develope (creating leakage problems) I am on my forth pail now and this one needs to be replaced too. Gardener's Supply has been great in honoring their guarrantee and has cheerfully sent replacements. I am puzzled that I don't see more people having this problem, because I would like to see some improvement in the quality of the steel to resolve this issue.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Perfect on the counter top with an easy to remove lid when hands are messy. Also looks nice so I don't feel like I need to hide it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Good prouduct, good price, [...] Will use this company again.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have it sitting on a woven trivet on my counter so the stainless steel doesn't "clatter" when I place it back onto the counter after emptying it. I especially like the long looping handle that makes it easy to carry.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Saw my cousin's and knew that it would be a much better container for food scraps than the plastic ice-cream tub I have used far too long.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail doesn't have any of the "gimmicks" others do - no filtering lid, etc. However, it just works. The capacity is generous enough to last through a couple days of scraps. The lid fits tightly and I have not had any problems with odors. The wide open top makes it easy to add scraps while preparing meals, etc. A perfect, simple solution to collecting kitchen scraps for the compost bin.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have one, these were for my kids in TX and MN
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Our garbage pickup has changed at the first of the year where we now have to compost with the leaves, etc. all of the food wastes which come from the kitchen and that includes paper soiled with food, like paper towels, pizza boxes... They sent around a 2 gallon plastic green food container which was enormous and the lid was attached and frankly I was not sure it would go into the dishwasher. This stainless steel pail is smaller, goes into the dishwasher and holds a days worth of all from the kitchen. The only problem I am having is that the handle is close to the lid and there is no way to pick up the lid with sticky fingers without depositing the sticky all over the lid and handle. Just means one more thing for me to wipe up at the end of a meal. Frankly I am not sure what would make the lid easier to pick up. With this recessed lid, finding a spot in the dishwasher is easy... so not sure fixing it is worthwhile. Just something to know.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
love everything about this compost container.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Gave it to my sister as a gift and it is used every day. We both love it. Attractive way to accumulate compostable items on countertop so we do not have to run out and empty all the time. Should have gotten a little larger one since there is a lot of snow outside and it filled up.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We used this pail for 8 months with no problems. It is attractive and substantial. But a week ago a pinhole leak developed in the bottom and it leaked rotting vegetable goo all over our counter. We're not pleased, and have asked for a replacement or refund.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I bought these compost pails for my daughters, because the pails are attractive, modern-looking, roomy and don't have holes in the lid, so no gnats! They are thrilled with them. Gone are the unsightly pans of scraps sitting by their kitchen sinks!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have used several different compost pails for kitchen scraps and this is by far the best one. It looks nice, its easy to empty and clean and the lid fits snuggly so odors do not get out. I love mine so much I have purchased 3 more for family and friends as gifts.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We remodeled our kitchen in 2009 and I've been looking for a nice stainless steel composting bucket to replace the margarita mix bucket we've been using for a few years. This bucket looks good on the counter top, does not absorb odors from food scraps, and has a lid that is easy to remove with one hand. I'm very satisfied.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I love this product! Although this order was a gift for a friend; I have one for myself & love it. I use it every day. The reason I bought it, the size is perfect for the kitchen, stainless steel is indestructible & the price was the clincher. I am completely satisfied with this compost pail and exactly why I purchased it for my friend.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I bought two of these pails for my daughters, who both compost for their vegetable gardens. They love them! Not only are they large, which means less trips to the composter, they're also quite attractive, with no holes in the lid to attract gnats.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This item was purchased as a gift for our daughter and her husband which is why the review is limited. I was impressed with the quality and design. I cannot attest to its usefulness although I feel it's a great idea. [...]
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have this compost pail next to my sink on top of my counter where it is easy to access and put coffee grounds, fruit and vegetable scraps, and any other compostible material in. The lid lifts off easily with one hand and the mouth is large for easy access. I find it easy to clean after emptying it into my large compost pile outside. I do not have any problems with odor after it is cleaned and/or when it is sitting with "material" in it. I find that the capacity lasts me for 3 - 7 days.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I don't use this for compost. We raise pigs and this and is our pig bucket. I put any scrapes from the kitchen-old bread, produce, things that might have fallen on floor, etc. and it goes to the pigs when I feed them. Great no leaks, smell-I love it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have used this producte for 3 year. My married children all wanted one now. The fruit flies are really cut down in the house because of using this compost pail. I really like mine.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail is kept under my sink. I like the size. Even though it does have an odor it is not noticeable until I take the top off.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We ordered 2 of these - one for composting and one for cat litter box waste. Both have scratches and slight flaws and discolorations, which is disappointing. One top does not fit and is slightly bent, which means odors escape. Too bad because they are otherwise attractive.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This replaces the stained and broken plastic ice cream bucket that formerly sat on our countertop collecting kitchen scraps. This compost pail is very attractive and the perfect size.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Perfect for kitchen compost.
Fits under the sink or on the counter.
Could be used for an ice bucket too.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Looks great on the counter. Nice weight to it, not flimsy. Actually, is a little larger
than dimensions given (by about an inch). It's so
beautiful it could double as a champagne/ice bucket!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I purchased this compost pail about a year ago, and I also purchased one for work. We still use both every day, and they are amazing. There is never an odor - I accumulate kitchen scraps for about a week, then empty it in the compost outside. I just purchased one as a gift, and it was very well received. You can't go wrong with this one!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this for all my waste that's acceptable for composting. Love the sleek look and it washes clean after each dumping with no odor. I've been looking for a stainless steel container that is affordable and this fits the bill!I even bought one to give to my daughter for Christmas and intend on buying more as gifts.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This replaced an old large plastic pitcher that I used to collect kitchen waste. Functional, did the job, but was not at all attractive. This is quite an improvement. Very attractive. Best of all it does the job. Seems well made.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Very convienent on counter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This compost bucket is just the right size to sit on the sink for kitchen scraps. Easy to empty and easy to clean. It would be 5-star except - for the rust! This item is supposed to be stainless steel, but apparently whatever attaches the handle to the lid is not. After only a short while, a ring of rust has appeared on the lid at the base of the knob. This is not acceptable in an item that should last indefinitely. I plan to complain and return it to Gardener Supply. Be forewarned. This should not cost [$].
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It's annoying for the wire handle to come out of its retaining hole. Otherwise, we're completely happy.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Gave one of these to each of my neophyte gardener children for their kitchens. Looks so much better on their kitchen counters than the grungy coffee cans they were using. Also cuts down on the odor since they can run it thru the dishwasher.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Great when only two in the house but for big gathers, waste too much for one small container. I ordered 2 but need 4.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Our 1st compost bucket is on the kitchen counter, used as intended. We liked it so much we bought a 2nd one.
This one we line with a grocery store plastic bag, and use it for scooped, clumped, cat litter. We keep it in the corner behind the cats' litter box. Its lid is easy to lift, and it seals in odors. All cat lovers should have one!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Just what I wanted:
No holes in the top which let out odor and attract bugs
Lightweight for carrying to the pile - the ceramic are too heavy
Non-breakable -- you need to be able to bang it on the side of the compost bin
This is the perfect kitchen counter compost bucket
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like the looks and size of this compost pail--goes with my stainless appliances, and doesn't take up a lot of counter or visual space. It's exactly what I wanted at a great price.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We live in a very dry area, and this bucket is big enough to allow me to add water with the scraps each day to help keep the compost wet.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It fits easily on the counter and can be put in the sink, when peeling vegetables or fruit.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like this item because it is small enough to keep in the kitchen and doesn't leak messy contents. It is handy to take to the mulch pile.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We keep our compost pail close to the kitchen sink. I find it lovely to look at (while the blurb calls it perfect for today's modern kitchen, I think it fits in well with more rustic, low tech and homemade kitchens as well); and since the pail has no lip, it's very easy to clean, while at the same time the lid is tight-fitting and keeps in odors when it's closed.
We previously had a ceramic compost crock, which we thought would work well, but the lip inside it made it harder to clean, and being ceramic it was heavier - and more breakable - both of which added to the difficulty of cleaning it, and thus discouraged us from actually using it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It is so easy to clean and sterilize.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this item for kitchen scraps and would love to give it highest marks all around, but unfortunately the spot where the lid and lid knob meet began to rust after only two weeks of use. I'll need to return it, which saddens me because in every other respect it's perfect.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We needed a new bucket to collect vegetable scraps in the kitchen for transport to our compost bin. This is a fabulous solution that is also inexpensive! It is a beautiful accent for the kitchen, while being thoroughly utilitarian. And it cleans easily after being emptied with no staining from the scraps. We liked it so much that we gave another as a birthday present; they loved it too! I can't recommend it highly enough.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Attractive and unbreakable.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It's just like the picture: a stainless steel bucket with a lid that looks okay on the kitchen counter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Loved this pail for the three months it lasted. Then the handle came off and it is unusable and unfixable. The threaded bolt had rusted badly. It could not be screwed in and gluing doesn't bond strong enough to mske the handle strong enough to manipulate the tight fitting lid. Don't buy it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Love it. I use one and bought two for gifts. Seals well and keeps oders out of kitchen. I've been composting kitchen scraps for over 30 years and find that the pails with snug fitting lids, NO HOLES, are best.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like the looks of it, but it rusted after only 1 week of use. I wouldn't recommend this one, after using the ceramic crock for years (until it broke, and I thought that I'd try the more durable stainless model).
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is advertised as a stainless steel compost container, however the inside of the top has rust in the area when the top handle is attached.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Wide mouth makes this container easier to use than the others we've had. It's easy to clean. Our last container's handles always came loose; this container is well-made and will last, and it looks good!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Here in the Northwest, we try to do the right thing, but having a cheap plastic container full of kitchen scraps on our counter does not do much for either hygene or decor! It rains a lot here, so we want to avoid walking all the way to the compost heap or worm bin every time we have a few scraps. This compost pail is the perfect answer. I have purchased three of them.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Helps keep kitchen clean & tidy.
Space conscious.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Use for household scrapes and dump in compost daily. SO easy to clean. Never has odors.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I keep this pail under my sink, and it has a nice "footprint" -- not too big, yet tall enough that I don't have to empty it each day. I have noticed, however, that it is already rusting or corroding around the edge of the cover and on one spot on the outside of the pail itself.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The compost pail is attractive enough to keep out on my kitchen counter where it is always available for easy scrap disposal. It is lightweight and easy to empty and clean because it has no ridges where material can get stuck.
I bought one as a birthday gift for my neighbor because she kept admiring mine.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The concept is great, but the execution is pretty poor.
We've put this in the dishwasher, as it's listed as dishwasher safe. Now, we're seeing rust on the lid and where the handle attaches to the bucket. Additionally, the lid has a loose fit that allows fruit-flies to get in, although not really back out.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I thought the stainless steel would be great. However, it took on the smell. But the worst was that it rusted and looked terrible after about a month. Maybe the ceramic would be better. Liked having compost near the sink.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It holds a good amount of table scraps for a long while and if you leave the cover on it doesn't get stinky.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have it sitting on my countertop next to the sink. I use it every single day!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We keep this on the kitchen counter for fruit and vegetable scraps. It holds a ton of scraps but doesn't take up too much space. It's very nice looking and doesn't smell at all.
We did have a problem with the metal lid. The metal lid clashes against the metal bucket and makes a really loud ugly clanging sound. I almost had to return the bucket because I couldn't stand it!
Then I figured out that it all it needs is a rubber gasket. I got a large rubber band (about 5" in diameter and 1/2" wide) and put it around the lip of the lid. Now the lid fits perfectly and smoothly into the bucket. It gives a nice seal and the lid doesn't make any sound.
By adding this rubber band we changed this from a low quality to a high quality product. The company should add this gasket itself!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Looks good on the counter
Has no odder leak and holds extra amount when company comes.
Family liked so it much I bought one for them
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I am disappointed that is rusted-- i love it but rusted a little-on the top of the handle where it had gotten wet- which didn't make me happy!!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this pail to collect my kitchen scraps before I take them out to compost. The pail not only looks nice on my counter, but surprisingly there's no smell and no fruit flies.
Recently I put some meat scraps in my pail along with my normal veggie scraps, and forgot to empty it before I left for a week-long vacation. I was so surprised to come home and find that there were NO fruit flies and NO smell. When I opened the pail I about fell over due to the stink, but the lid had completely contained it. The nonporous stainless steel also helped it begin composting nicely right there in the pail. And the best part? I just washed it out with soap and water and the smell was gone.
I would highly recommend this pail. It looks just as nice as I thought it would, but it has outperformed my expectations. I love this pail!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Not worth the price at all. Made in India, cost .50 to make, i know i lived there!!!
Looks like an ice bucket, so it has dual use
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This fits well into my kitchen and looks nice right on the counter which allows me to easily save items for my composter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I really liked this pail when I first received it. However, it developed a leak on the seam and created a HUGE mess on my kitchen counter! Yuck!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I enjoy using this compost bucket in the kitchen as it holds 3 days worth of food scraps for a family of 5. Unfortunately, the handle fell off after 7 months of daily use. I hope to get this fixed. I use the pail with compostable bags and the pail stay very clean.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail looks attractive on the counter-top next to our under-mount stainless steel sink. The lid fits tightly to hold in odors, but we do empty it into the compost maker in the yard frequently. We would not expect to actually make compost on the kitchen counter--just collect kitchen scraps to take out to the compost maker. The pail rinses out so easily that there are no residual odors. It's more convenient and less expensive than using carbon filters to cover up odors. Sometimes, simpler really is better. We are vegetarians and have abundant compostable waste. We find that if we cut or tear citrus and avacado rinds into smallish pieces and crunch egg shells in one hand while dropping them into the pail, they break down faster and the pail holds more scrap. This product is worth the price.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Looks great in kitchen--guest inquired if it was a champagne bucket.
It does stain easily but it's inside where you can't see it.
It's lightweight and easy to carry to compost pile outside.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is a great product, it can be used on the counter or underneath, has perfect capacity for kitchen compostable items and cleans up easily with soap and water or in the dishwasher. Price is good and matches quality. I've even given this product for a gift!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this pail in my kitchen to store food scraps and fruit rinds until I can run it down to the compost pile. It is very roomy and doesn't take on food odors. There is nothing I would change about it! Great product. Great price.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
good product, but says it's dishwasher safe & after 1 time in the dishwasher, already has rust on it. nevertheless, it's a good, lightweight compost pail and does a good job holding in odors
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Got this as a gift for our father and he really likes it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is my second compost bucket. I had issues with the first one so I knew what I didn't want. I wanted something that wouldn't break and had a tight lid. This fits all my criteria and looks nice on my counter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I looked around for a long time for the simplest, large-capacity counter-top compost bucket. I knew I wanted stainless steel because it's so easy to disinfect. I've tried other buckets and had them fall apart, grow fly-babies, etc. A friend had this one in her kitchen and told me that despite it not having a fancy charcoal filter system, she found it to be odor-free and big enough to hold scraps from large cooking jobs.
The bucket has been great, and Gardner's Supply got it to us quickly. Just rinsing it and setting it out in the sun for 15 minutes gets rid of smells. Hooray!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I bought my husband this for Father's Day and we both love it. It holds a nice capacity without taking up too much room. The cover fits well and keeps any odors inside. And it's easy to clean!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Nice solution for kitchen scraps and coffee grounds. Lid fits tightly to contain smell.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
stays on the counter until I take it to the pile. very clean looking
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is a very attractive stainless steel bin I have sitting next to my prep counter. The lid started to rust and I emailed the company. The rep called that week and I said unless it starts to look unsightly I will live with it. I wanted to support the fact that the company is employee owned. Well, I finally called and asked for a replacement lid and it [...]. I love this bin and I love dealing with this company with courteous customer service and who STAND BEHIND what they sell!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The knob came off the cover while washing it and rust started on the bottom and sides. Gardener's Supply is already processing a refund.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The stainless steal is rusting on the bottom of the bucket.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I love it-- attractive, reasonable price, odorless. I can just throw it in the dishwasher if I want.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
perfect size for under the sink, convenient handle, fits in the dishwasher.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I keep this container in my kitchen and no one notices it's there. Odor free and attractive to look at.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Keep it in the kitchen ,when cutting up fruit etc, just put scraps in there ,when full take out to compost bin, very easy.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Nice size and its convient. The only thing wrong with it is that it rusts along the out side of the bottom where it seems to be welded. One piece construction would solve that.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We were really looking forward to using a compost pail that isn't plastic AND doesn't have one of those air filters. The filters never seemed to do much--plus they become a haven for fruit fly larvae in the heat of summer. This one really seeemed to fit the bill, but after only two weeks or so, we discovered a small pinhole leak in the bottom and compost liquid had leaked out all over the counter underneath the pail. Sorry to say that I'll be returning it.

We have had the stainless steel composter for at least 15 years or more and if you run it through the dishwasher, it looks like a new pail. So we bought one for my son (as requested) and another kind for my niece. We use it every day. Gardeners Supply is the only place I have seen them for sale and at around the same price we paid a long time ago.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We got the pail in early to mid June. We use the pail to bring out kitchen waste out to our composter. After two weeks of use, it is rusting around the area of where the lid sits on the pail. Not too happy about that.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is a quality container, lid fits well, and handle is ample. I wish it was twice as large.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Used in the kitchen for scraps
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The City has a composting program, with which comes a rather unsightly green, plastic container we keep on the floor under the kitchen sink. With my back problem, I need something counter-top and this sleek, lightweight, unbreakable compost bucket fits the bill perfectly. It's not quite as stylish as the cobalt blue, ceramic one I'd previously bought from Gardener's Supply -- the cover of which my husband dropped and the bottom of which I'll now have to use as a planter. But it'll do the trick just fine.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It's pleasing to the eye, a gardeners best friend.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I purchased this pail to hold items destined for my compost pile in the garden. It looks very attractive on the counter top and cuts down the number of trips to transport compostable materials to the bin outside.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like the size and weight. I purchased two pails. One pail the knob on the top has broken off(rust). The other one seems fine.
Great product except for the top knob.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I prefer the look of the crockery, but continued to break the lid. This will not break, is easy to clean, but does show all the spots that stainless always shows.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this product in my kitchen.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
nice looking pail for compost scraps. Too
bad it started to rust on the top of the lid
the first time I got water on it!! :<(
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Finally...I don't have to use my mixing bowls as a collector anymore, I was worried about not cleaning it well enough after each use and this takes care of that problem. Nice size, holds a lot and the lid prevents you from smelling anything. Even my husband was impressed with the quality and price.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I fill up this compost pail almost daily because I feed my family lots of fruits and vegetables, but it's just right for the amount of food scraps we generate. It's easy to empty and clean, and best of all, it looks so much more attractive than that old plastic lettuce tub we used to use! My mom visited recently and commented on our nice, new compost pail, so I ordered her one for her birthday. After all, she taught me how to compost!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Easy to use and clean
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have a small kitchen. However, composting is very important to me. This is wonderful. Would have liked it a tiny smaller.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I love this product. It has the best capacity for what I use it for...kitchen scraps. There's no time for it to stink up b/c it's small enough that it has to be emptied fairly frequently (at least in our house). It cleans easily and fits nicely in a tight space under the kitchen sink. I don't see the need for bags or a filter--just use it!

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I really do like the stainless steel compost pails, and I use them constantly...but, they are prone to rust, especially the lids, which surprised me. I washed them in the dishwasher after emptying them, and after the first time I did so, I noticed rust spots on the lid. Perhaps I simply shouldn't have put them in the dishwasher...?
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Perfect for all those table scraps and coffee grounds. Nice looking on the counter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This looks great sitting on the kitchen counter between the coffeemaker and the breadbox, it holds a couple days worth of scraps and teh best part is, NO SMELL, the lid fits perfectly, it also rinses out easily and cleanly, no scrubbing required.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have owned this product for a long time. When we went on vacation, our neighbor came over and fed and watered our cats. She asked me to order her one because she liked mine so much. You can't go wrong with this product.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Holds a lot, easy to clean and attractive on kitchen counter top. Doesn't retain odors.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I liked this compost bucket because it is stainless steel and not chrome like most available styles, and matches our kitchen. As well, I like the simple pail design which makes it easy to empty and clean. We compost a lot of food scraps and it fills quickly, in 2-3 days. I wish it was a bit larger so I don't have to empty it as frequently.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is a good size for everyday use. Cleans in the dishwasher easily. The only drawback is that, even though the lid appears to fit closely, fruit flies can somehow get through. They come flying up whenever I take the lid off.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Sturdy attractive product, just what I was looking for.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I'm very happy with this product and the price was right. It will not stain, is easy to clean, the lid is airtight, and it's attractive.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I bought this compost pail to replace the unsightly plastic pots I used for my kitchen scraps. I am really happy with it. It looks really nice in the kitchen -- more like an ice bucket than a compost pail. It does not leak, and it can contain a lot. I love it!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Jury still out on this compost pail. Size is great and construction is sturdy. However, it's SS made in India, which is definitely not food grade. I'm already seeing signs of rust & I've only used it for 2-3 wks. Will watch this carefully and see if I need to contact cust. service.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Do not purchase!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have been using this compost pail for three weeks now and have been very satisfied. It looks nice on the counter, does not let odors out, and is easily washes after being emptied.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We have recycled coffee grounds, fruit and vegetable kitchen scraps by means of worm composting for more than 25 years. We used all types of compost pails to collect the scraps from used milk containers to expensive ceramic pails. The brushed stainless is the best yet. It looks nice, has a slim foot print for its volume and does the best to seal in odors of anything we've used. Why only 4 stars - after 6 weeks of use, a small ring of rust stain has developed (it polishes off) indicating possibly an inferior grade of stainless steel. We will have to see if it holds up over time.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Within 2 weeks, we noticed rust on the interior of the pail. Also, the weld on the knob is looking tarnished, and it may fall off soon. Pail made in India, probably with cheap quality stainless steel. A plastic, Folgers coffee can or two may be a cheaper alternative.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The bucket works well at containing odors and holds a good quantity of garbage scraps.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Looks great. Everything is made of stainless steel except for the screw holding the knob on the lid that started to rust the first time I washed it and now we have a pool of rust in the lid. I suspect the knob will eventually fall off when the screw rusts through. I don't understand why the manufacturer couldn't spend a few more pennies to make this a great product. It's not.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I purchased one for myself and one for my daughter-in-law. We both really like this compost pail. It looks good enough to keep on the counter, the cover holds in odors and it's easy to clean. The price is very reasonable, too.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We use this for compost items that don't go to the chickens. It is the perfect size for a family of 4.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
won't rust, and easy clean
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I love the size, fits perfectly under the cupboard beside the trash can. The price was right and the quality was great. I would recommend this compost pail to anyone.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Thanks to the other reviews I have been gentle with the top knob and have not had any problems with it falling off. Nice looking, good size, lid fits well with compost bags folded over the top rim. If the knob were to come off it would require major surgery with a large soldering iron or hardware installation but "so far so good".
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I couldn't be happier with the Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail. It matches the Stainless fixtures on my sink very well, so it is an attractive yet practical addition to our kitchen. I've been looking for a compost pail that would add style AND be functional -- this is it. It is definitely odor free and the sturdy handle makes carrying and dumping very easy. I highly recommend it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I had been collecting kitchen scraps for compost in a ceramic bowl and my husband wanted something with a lid. This one is great... Great capacity, has a handle for easy transport to our compost tumbler, and looks nice, too. We have been using it with BioBags (food waste compostable bags) for even greater ease and cleanliness. The only drawback is that my husband's hands are naturally oily and he leaves fingerprints on the lid.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Exactly what I expected. Great compost pail for the counter. Right size and style
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Looks nice, seals well and holds a lot.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We replaced a porcelain compost container with this. It is easier to clean and looks great on our counter. It is easy to empty in the outdoor compost bin. The one drawback is that the bottom is "sprung". It occasionally pops out with a loud band and needs to be pushed back in to sit flat on the counter. We empty it daily so odor is not a problem. But without a vented top, odor could build up unless emptied and rinsed daily.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This kitchen compost bucket is great! It is well designed with a properly fitted lid making it convenient to open and close with one hand. No smells escape. It holds sufficient quantity to allow for several days of compost collection. Very easy to clean!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Such a great alternative to the ugly plastic tub we used last year. Cleans up beautifully and is just the right size for kitchen scraps.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I got this for Mother's Day. SIX days later, it had started rusting, and the handle fell off as the screw holding it to the lid rusted through! I am dumbfounded by all the positive reviews!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this item to keep all of my kitchen scraps until I am ready to add them to my composter. The pail fits nicely under my sink, doesn't leak or have an odor. Best of all, it's easy to clean,

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I debated spending the extra $$ for a compost pail with a filter, but I think I made the right choice. If you use the biobags you need to empty the pail before the bag begins to degrade and leak, so there realy isn't time for odors to develop. I would tend to empty the filtered pail less often so they would need to be scrubbed clean and they are harder to clean than the smooth stainless.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The other reviews were very helpful in making my purchase. The only thing that I was worried about was that it wouldn't "blend in" on the counter. But that isn't the case. It has an unassuming place beside the sink; you don't really notice that it's there.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This product is everything they say it is. I even bought one for a gift.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Good capacity and tight fitting lid to avoid odors

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail is the best. I looked at the heavy ceramic pails - too heavy and too big for my small countertop. This pail can get heavy if you fill it to the brim but it's so easy to carry with the handle and easy to clean out. Should have bought it sooner.... just didn't want to pay more than a few bucks to store trash! So glad I bit the bullet and got this pail. It's a great keeper!!!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is my first attempt at collecting kitchen scraps for the compost heap. I am very pleased with this pail.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
nice to have something attractive in the kitchen for scraps
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I purchased this pail to replace my old and very disgusting plastic container. This one is very sturdy and attractive. It could be a little larger - we tend to fill it up in a day or 2, but otherwise it's great. we've had no problems with odours even without a charcoal filter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Was going to get the ceramic ones but was deterred by the comments regarding breaking. This one looks good and can be carried out to the chicken coop and composting area. Looks good on the kitchen counter and holds a lot.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I keep my composter pail right by the sink to collect the daily coffee grounds and vegie waste. I haul the remains down to my compost bin every few days. I like it so well, I just had one sent to a friend who wants to start composting - a great house warming gift.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I love the size and look of this and it fits great in our kitchen. Best of all, it doesn't release bad odors and its easy to clean!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail holds quite a bit - now I can make the trip to the compost pile every 4-5 days instead of 4-5 TIMES a day! It looks great in my kitchen & its good looks are the only thing that finally convinced my husband to let me keep it out on the counter most of the time. Handle very useful for both myself and the kids to use. LOVE being able to pop it into the dishwasher. Also the "brushed" stainless steel means that it doesn't show all the fingerprints like some stainless.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I leave the bucket on the kitchen counter. It looks great & is a reminder not to use the garbage disposal or trash can when preparing meals, cleaning veggies or after making coffee. I use it for all kitchen scraps (not meat) and I even toss in leaves or spent flowers from house plants. After I empty it in the compost bin-I just rinse it out & it's ready to use!!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The stainless steel looks great on your counter!
Just the right size.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Looks great on the counter. Holds alot. Easy to clean, no smell even after a few days of kitchen scrap collection. Only 4 stars because the manufacturer didn't use a stainless steel screw to screw on the little knob on the lid, and so it's starting to rust. I will just have to replace that screw.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Stores nicely under the kitchen sink when I'm not filling it or looks nice on the countertop when I am. Love that I can't smell a thing when the lid is on! Great size for typical kitchen waste. Very pleased with this product.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is a perfect compost pail. It's large enough to hold a couple of days waste,if you can't get out to empty it.Cleans up easily, and best of all, doesn't hold smells.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It fits perfectly near kitchen sink, saves me from running back and forth to the backyard. At first I thought it was too small but it holds quite a bit of kitchen scraps.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Previously, to store our kitchen scraps, we used a plastic food container, which became increasingly difficult to clean, retained stains and eventually cracked.
This steel pot has artistic contours, has a bail for easy carry and responds well to thorough cleaning and disinfection. Walking out to the compost bin no longer causes embarrassment -- to the contrary.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This container looks nice enough to sit on my kitchen counter. The lid fits snug so you can't smell the food scraps. It's sturdy- we were using a ceramic cookie jar and my husband broke the lid. Now, I can grab it and take it out to the compost pile.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Looks good in the kitchen and is very easy to clean. It could be a little bit bigger, but otherwise no complaints.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Works.
Better looking than the beat old bucket I used to use.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This does a good job--it keeps odors in check, it cleans easily, and looks okay (just not "sleek"). But one really needs to generate a lot of kitchen scraps to make the size really useful--I don't, and I'm a vegetarian. Would be better if about 2/3rds or 1/2 the size.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like having an attractive pail to put my kitchen scraps in.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I bought this and 50 biobags as part of an advertised special and so far, I'm pleased with the results. We are on a well and septic system, so we have to compost everything rather than use a garbage disposal. The metal pail is clean, neat, the lid fits tightly and keeps most offensive odors out of the air (unless it is open and one has put the wrong sort of kitchen scraps into the bucket) and sits quietly in the corner on the counter. I've had it in the dishwasher and it holds up nicely, but as long as you use the bags the need to wash it is minimal.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is very attractive in my kitchen. My only complaint is that the bottom of the knob on the top of the bucket rusts....which means it isn't totally stainless steel.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I keep a plastic container inside as a liner for ease of dumping out back and keeps pail clean and in use.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I love that it is stainless steel: no taking on odors or discoloration from the rotting food inside. It has a handle, so it's easy to take out and dump. The only down side is that the lid does not have any vents in it, so condensation collects inside.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Very handy and attractive by my kitchen sink. Lid keeps odors at bay.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Very clean w/ a great lid. Looks great on counter top.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I read that the product gets rusty, but I did not realize this soon. I only purchased this a month ago.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Lid fits well. No odor and no fruit flies! Easy to clean. Less expensive than other compost pails and looks nice. Very happy with this purchase.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We fill it 1 1/2 times a day so we didn't need a filter. Just rinse with plain water. Looks nice, lid fits well, fits easily under sink.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Amazing, it dosen't smell at all. It's the perfect size for the kitchen, just dump it once a week into the compost pile.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like this basic but attractive compost container. I did not want to mess with a filter. The finnish is nice, the size is good, and the handle moves well with no catches.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The older version was a much more well-made bucket. The top fit snuggly and easily and the stainless washed up well, including the daily wipedowns from water drips, etc., on the outside.
I use one on the kitchen counter and two rotating ones underneath the counter. The 2 I just purchased are inferior to the older one in that the tops are difficult to get on and off, since they don't fit exactly. Water stains do not come off easily. The stainless, especially the tops, look more like "brushed" stainless, and uneven at that, than the "satiny" stainless.
I would recommend this to a friend only with reservations.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I looked at a bunch of compost bins and thought this one was the most attractive. It didn't have the charcoal filter in the lid, but odor has not been a problem. Every time I empty the pail into the compost bin I give it a good rinse and let it air dry before using it again.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Well crafted, sturdy construction.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Why pay more when this stainless steel pail looks good and does the job! We also appreciate its larger capacity than the plastic (ug) pail we have been using while trying to figure out which one to buy from the catalog.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We do not have a garbage disposal, my husband insists upon having a "scrap bowl" which he is not the best about taking out...we have argued and argued about this, so I started looking for "alternatives" and came to this site. I absolutely love the compost pail. It holds plenty and has a lid so it is odor free. It's attractive, not an embarassement to have sitting on the counter!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I don't compost. However, this gives me a place to put all the
organic waste that accumulates before I take it to the compost.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This compost pail fits perfectly under my sink, it's eay to pull out to add scraps, and it is a good size. Best of all, it fits into the dishwasher for regular cleaning. I love it!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This looks great on my countertop and holds enough so I am not running to the compost pile everyday! No odors either.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this product to collect kitchen scraps, to then later take outside for composting. I was concerned that the scraps would begin to smell, or attract bugs, but the container keeps them from getting stinky and is well sealed so bugs are not an issue. I empty it 2-3 times a week. It is aesthetically pleasing and relatively inexpensive. I can't think of any way to improve it!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I've had compost pots in the past that have handles that come off the pot....they'd fall off when you were dumping the pot and I broke more pots that way. This one has a non removable handle and still can be put in the dishwasher to clean. Wonderful!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
My local co-op farm began accepting kitchen scraps because many of the members live in deed restricted neighborhoods that don't allow composting. This compost pail is perfect for our three member household. We collect kitchen scraps all week in the pail and then take the pail to the farm. There is never any smell. The lid stays on well. The handle makes the pail easy to carry. The the pail cleans up easily so it is ready for another week of collecting. I can store the pail on the counter next to the sink, or under the sink. It is a great size.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Have just started composting and this makes an efficient, odorless solution for kitchen scraps, and easy way to transport to composter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I line the pail with used produce bags for easy clean out. When one gets full, I simply lift out the full bag and insert another used bag. I find that it will take about 3 days for me to fill the pail. Between the snug fit of the lid and the plastic bag liner, I do not get any odors.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I collect kitchen scraps, dryer lint, and cat hair. When the pail is full, I take it outside to my large compost bin I have there.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This product looks great on our counter. It holds a lot of kitchen scraps, is easy to empty and the lid fits great. We love the pail.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I like the pail for its' capacity. It looks good, too!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Attrractive and simple design with no filters to pay for or to change out. The size is just right for the kitchen counter behind the sink. Lid is tight and I have had no issues with odor.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This composter made my kitchen look much "neater" . I use to use old ice cream pails. The covers are well fitted, so orders are conceled. Also they are very easy to clean.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This sure beats using an old milk jug, and it seems to be really well made.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use my compost container all the time. Its easy to clean, etc. My only complaint it that wahen I remove the lid to add kitchen waste and replace the lid its noisy.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I am taking a Master Gardener class, and I have become involved in composting. This is the PERFECT size to keep on the counter top near the sink. I have added things to it for a week and there was no smell. I love it!! Maureen
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Much better than the ceramic can with a filter that I had. The ceramic held the smells, stained inside and the handle slipped off and the can broke. This stainless steel pail doesn't need filters, doesn't stain and the handle is secure.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The stainless steel pail is attractive enough to leave out on the countertop. It is completely odor-free and holds more than enough kitchen scraps and coffee grounds to keep the worms in our composter happy and well-fed.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This stainless steel pail is a great way to kitchen compost. It is sturdy, the lid fits tightly to keep in odors, and the handle makes it easy to carry outside to the compost bin. Plus, the size is just right for the countertop and very easy to clean.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The handle on the lid popped off after a few months of use.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This product is too handsome to be tucked out of sight in the cabinet! The handle is a great feature.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is a great value for the money. It looks nice on my countertop, and I've never had an odor problem with it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have used the Ceramic kitchen composer, but found them hard to clean. I empty my kitchen composter every other day and the size is perfect for that.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It's on the counter all the time. Filled daily with kitchen scrapes.
Convenient
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail is attractive and easy to rinse out. Holds quite a bit.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is way more attractive and useful than my old plastic container that did not fit in the dishwasher
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Easy to clean. Does not get stinky. Good capacity.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We use the convenient countertop compost pail to collect kitchen scraps, not to compost them. We carry ours out every day or two and empty it into the composter in the yard. Tight fitting lid prevents odors that haven't been cooking for more than a few days from seeping into the kitchen. Attractive, simple design fits our modern kitchen. It has worked better than any container we have tried to adapt to the purpose, and costs much less than the fancy ones with replacable carbon parts. If you empty if often, like any garbage pail, and keep it clean there are no odors to cover up with carbon.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This stainless compost pail is a must for any composter. Looks nice on the counter, no smells, and is a great price!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I had used a ceramic kitchen compost container for several years. To minimize the chance of breaking it, I brought a plastic pail in and dumped contents to carry out to my kitchen scraps composter. My daughter broke the ceramic lid and I ocrdered the pail to replace the ceramic container. Now I can take the pail directly outside to the kitchen composter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is the best kitchen countertop compost container ever! The lid fits well; it requires NO charcoal filters; there is no odor; it holds about a week's worth of kitchen scraps and coffee grounds; the handle is comfortable and makes it easy to dump, and it's so easy to clean. Most important is that we don't have to worry if we accidentally bang it at the composter, since it can't break! I would purchase this again without hesitation.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have tried to use a similar product before, but it attracted fruit flies and finally broke. a year or so later, when I placed an order, this stainless steele one was on sale so I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
It is easy to clean
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I have had food scraps from onions to banana peels in my compost pail for over two weeks and there is not the slighest hint of an odor. Even when I open it to add something else, I am amazed that there is no foul smelling odor. The pail is also very durable and was the largest size I could find for a kitchen pail. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We use this product to put all our fruit and veg. peels into year around and dump in another larger airriated on to compost so it can go back into the garden as fertilizer. IT is easy to clean and is odorless. Love it.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
really good to have a handy container; that encourages appropriate composting!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Had it for 4 years, and it's still perfect.I just hated smelly plastic pails. I haven't regretted a penny I spent on it.
I use it for wedding gifts. The girls really like it, and you can be sure it won't be a duplicate.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Not only is the item useful and attractive[...]I am very impressed!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I was afraid to start saving kitchen waste because I thought it would smell. My stainless steel compost pail does not smell at all. I don't even know it is there. I fill it up and then empty it into my outdoor composter. My trash weight has lighted considerable. I would recommend it to everyone.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I bought one of these pails for my compost scraps. I later bought a second matching one for scraps destined for the worm bin. They are simple and easy to clean, seem fairly sturdy, and are attractive enough to leave out on the counter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is the easiest way to collect kitchen compost materials. No mess, easy clean up and no bags. Just wish it was larger!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is the second one I have bought. I sent one to my sister-in-law and she loved it. It matches my canisters and stainless steel appliance.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail is simple, works great, and looks good on the counter. I use it with the biobags and there is no odor.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I am thrilled to finally find a counter top compost pail that is family friendly (ie not breakable ceramic, and easily washed by all ages). Its natural pail shape has no hidden crevices that necessitate extra scrubbing and the shape enables easy dumping of contents. The handle is riveted so no fears of the handle popping out when transporting a full bucket.

I put all of our vege/fruit scraps from meal prep in this bucket. It holds an ideal amount. Any bigger and it really wouldn't look nice on the counter. It never has a foul odor and it washes up nicely after we dump it in our composter. I like this so much better than the compost bio- bags. Well worth the $$$.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I enjoy that this product is simple without replaceable filters and stands up well to potential dents and dings.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Lid fits nice and tight. So much better looking (and smelling) than the old plastic container we'd used.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
We use our stainless steel compost pail in our kitchen and it is perfect for our home. We keep it under the sink, but when it is on the counter, it looks great and there is odor. The capacity for scraps is perfect for the average kitchen. We empty the compost contents into our larger, outside compost bin about every 3 days.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Simple and attractice way to collect kitchen scraps on a daily basis.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
After cracking my old kitchen compost pot, I decided to get the practical stainless steel kitchen composter. Not only is it attractive, but the bio bags lift out of this one easier than my old crock pot composter as there is no lip around the edge.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This pail is used in my kitchen. The lid fits very tightly so no odors are noticed. There are no seams to separate. It rinses out well after emptying. I would buy another if and when needed and I would give as a gift.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Easy to use
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use my pail for all kitchen non-meat scraps and coffee grounds. When it is full, I carry it out to my "pile" along with yard and garden waste. I leave the lid off, which allows some drying and thus less smell. I would have like a little more capacity.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I had some reservations about purchasing this due to some negative reviews on problems with the seam. Well, they addressed this by eliminating the seam. We are very happy with it and find it attractive.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Now I just need to invest in the outside compost bin to keep these scraps and outside leaves, etc in
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Along with the biobag, excellent solution to accumulating compost in the kitchen for transport to your composter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
very nice product attractive
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
My sister gave us a stainless compost pail from your catalog several years ago. Ours is a little different from your current model (shiny, more like a traditional, old-fashioned pail). We use it everyday with the liners, and it is incredibly convenient! The lid prevents any odors from escaping, it never stains, it is easy to clean, and the handle makes it easy to take it out to the garden and bury the garbage. The liners enable us to simply grab the bag and toss the garbage into the hole we dig (right in the garden), and it all rots without our having to do a thing! Thanks for a great product!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
A simple and effective means to collect kitchen waste for the compost pile at a fair price

Wanted a compost pail for the kitchen counter, and this one looks good and is very functional. Easy to clean, doesn't retain odors and is just the right size.

The stainless steel composting bucket was a hit on Christmas morning! Very happy with the weight and overall construction, and it's appearance on the kitchen counter is a huge improvement over the white plastic bucket used for years!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This is a great product. I had been looking for a durable, attractive and conveniently sized kitchen compost container. It cleans well, and holds the smell in while waiting to take it out to the compost. I like the quality construction. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
ordered for my sister who is an avid gardener. she specifically requested this item for christmas to replace a ceramic one which had chipped and cracked. she'd done a ton of research, and in her estimation, this one was perfect. she was not disappointed.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I use this product to collect kitchen scraps, and take them to my compost pile.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I've used it since the day I bought it which was about May '09. The only problem I have is it is rusting where the lid knob meets the lid. I don't let it sit in water so I think when I wash it some water is trapped and the piece holding the two together is now rusting. So far it hasn't fallen apart though.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Absolutely recommend. It fits right in with our stainless decor. No mess, no odor, looks great.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This composting pail appeared to be just what I was looking for. A composting pail for our kitchen that is a durable material, dishwasher safe, easy to clean, would not absorb odors and easy to carry out to our outdoor composter. Everything is durable except the pull on top of the lid. It broke off the second day we used it. It is being returned!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The stainless steel makes this product very easy to clean; after disposing the waste into your compost and a quick cleaning, there is no staining and no residual odor. I really like this product, however the handle/knob on the lid is not attached well and UNLESS you are handy with repairing things I would not recommend this product. I repaired it by saudering it back together.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I greatly prefer this stainless steel compost bucket to a plastic one I used previously. This bucket is sturdy, attractive, easy to clean, and odor-free, with a lid that is easy to remove one-handed.

This is a nice light weight pail to haul the scraps to the composter
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Great to hold a day or more worth of kitchen scraps. Is pretty enought to garner counter space. Just getting into the habit of throwing compostable scraps into it, instead of the garbage can. Yeah, future compost
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
looks like the place the handles are attached might rust-hoping not! Otherwise it is much better than the ice cream container we were using for composting materials!
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
Like the container but after using it for about 2 weeks found rust around the lid handle.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
The lid fits nicely. Keeps down odor and pests. Handle makes it easy to carry out. Steel makes it easy to clean. Liked mine so much, I gave one to my sister.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This product makes composting from the kitchen an easy thing to do.

We live on a quarter-acre close-in suburban setting. Just updated our kitchen with stainless steel appliances and our new compost pail fits in beautifully with the new decor. Love that it is dishwasher-friendly and love the handle for ease of carrying out back to my rolling composter.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I couldn't be happier with this bucket. It's attractive on the sink and doesn't smell -- despite the fact that it doesn't have a filter. It's very easy to clean and odors don't linger inside as they do with plastic.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
This was a great solution to my countertop compost container. I LOVE the bio bags that go with it. It doesn't hold odors like plastic containers do and it's super easy to empty using the bags.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
After just a few days of (gentle) use, the knob on the lid fell off and there was no way to repair it. The screw had sheared off. This was very aggravating.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I had a ceramic kitchen counter-top compost container, but the seal was not tight, which attracted fruit flies. The ridge under the top lip of the container was difficult to clean. Eventually, the top was dropped on the floor and broke. The brushed aluminum pail is a thousand times better for a number of reason, including a tight seal, attractive, no odor, more capacity, easy to clean, and will not break if dropped. I highly recommend this product.
Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
After using 2 other types of kitchen compost containers, one made of plastic and the other made of copper, this is by far the best because it does not hold onto odors (after cleaning) and it's easy to clean due to its stainless steel composition.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:
I really enjoyed this product, but after 2 years, the seam split in the dishwaser. Would have been a better unit if it had been a shaped single piece of stainless steal instead of a seamed piece.
