After seeing how great they are, I ordered five more pairs, four for my children and one for my 84 year old brother.

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

We liked these so much we bought replacements when the old ones wore out. We have a lot of freezing rain and "black ice" here and Yaktrax are ideal for these conditions---and allow us to keep up our usual walking routine. They are like studded snow tires for your feet. Then pull on over your normal shoes (sneakers, etc.) and are sometimes a little hard to get on but you want them to fit tightly to do their job. Probably not as useful on fluffy snow, but ideal for any other slippery condition.

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

When we lived on the side of a hill in the mountains and traction was the difference between me and the 1000 pound horse getting inside safely or me under said 1000 pound horse - these helped. They were OK, I did not fall as much. The problem was with daily use I would barely make it a week before one snapped. After going through 4 pairs I discovered another brand with small spikes designed for runners. One pair at the same price lasted me 5 years of daily winter use. And the spikes gave me better and safer traction.

The Yak Trax are great to keep in your car for an emergency. They will not ruin wood floors so if you need them 3-4xs a year for bringing in wood or a walk to the mailbox on an icy day these are perfect. But if you do a lot of walking or activities in icy conditions look for a more durable brand.

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

I got this for my grandmother as a Christmas gift. Last year, we had a really bad winter with lots of ice and she slipped and fell a couple of times. She is a very active woman with two dogs that she has to take outside multiple times a day. She became nervous about going outside in snowy and icy weather because of that.
These Yaktrax have alleviated her fears!
I had to help her put them on her shoes because they were too difficult for her to do by herself. These are the only shoes that she uses to take the dogs out so she doesn't have to take them off the shoes more than once or twice a year. She called me after we had received a significant coating of ice over 3 inches of snow and said that she didn't slip once. Her footing was secure on the ice on all surfaces (the grass, the mulch, and the concrete).

She loves them!!!

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

I bought these because of the name. Had seen others, but thought these would be higher quality. My husband put them on over his boots, wore them outside because of the ice and told me later that day that the rubber had snapped. I looked at them today and yes, it had just broke apart at no particular point. Very disappointed. If it doesn't cost me an arm and leg to return, I will ask for my money back.

After multiple pairs of boots and ice cleats for my 85yo mother (who goes down the driveway daily to get her mail AND likes to clear patches of ice on the driveway)...I've finally found the perfect traction device for her. I don't worry (as much) about her out on an occasionally icy driveway with the YakTrax. The 2 different pairs of cleats I got her are too slippery if there's only snow (and no ice) present on the driveway.

After taking a fall on ice, Yaktrax was recommended by a friend. While snow is rare in my area, we have had a bountiful supply this year so I got a chance to try the Yaktrax while I was dog sitting. The sidewalk was only icy in spots but I felt very comfortable the Yaktrax would help me keep my footing. I pack them in my coat pocket so I am ready for anything.

She says, while they can be a little difficult to put on (which may be a size issue), they work well. She says if she were going to order another pair, and if she could get them 1/2 size bigger, that is what she would do. Overall, though, she is quite satisfied with them.

I bought Yaktrax for my husband and myself for walking. They provide stability and seem to be working great! I also gave a pair to my 89-year-old father to wear when he walks to the mailbox or blows snow. I haven't talked with him yet to see how they work for him, but I am a bit concerned that he may have trouble stretching them to attach them to his shoes. Fortunately, he wears a smaller men's shoe, so that should make it easier.

Purchased for my 81 year old dad who insists on clearing his own sidewalk and sloped driveway and getting the mail every day which means walking up and down that driveway. I feel a lot better knowing he is less likely to slip and fall in our Wisconsin winters.

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

I'm prone to falling at least once or twice a season on icy city sidewalks. Being preggers this winter, I really wanted to avoid that! Yaktrax provides amazing traction and I feel secure on my feet. No falls so far and I'm confident it'll stay that way. The only issue is that they are not for indoor use, in fact I almost slipped when I went inside a store. You can leave them on, but be careful. If I wasn't pregnant, it would be easy to just slip them on and off when needed.

I bought these for my 70-something mother who does all her own yardwork still. Clearing a snowy, icy driveway and sidewalk is a challenge for anyone--these Yaktrax are awesome!! They gave her so much confidence in walking on the slick spots. She says she loves them and feels so secure on the ice. I am definitely ordering more--I want sure-footedness, too!

We live in a hilly area and our home is separated from our garage by three different sets of stairs/levels. I'm not so worried about the snow as I am the ice left after clearing the snow and the Yak Tracs worked wonderfully yesterday.

I just use these for getting from the house to the barn. Not really for hiking or anything extreme. They are easy to slip on after the first use, and make my trips back and forth FAR safer. Have not slipped with these on at all. Only once did one slip off, and that was just the first day, I think I didn't have it on correctly.

I bought my husband a pair of Yaktrax several years ago and he LOVED them! And I LOVED them, too! He misplaced the original pair I had gotten him (or maybe I did since I sometimes wore his pair)! So this time, we ordered two pair. Last year we had an extended ice storm in Kentucky, and we would have had a very difficult time during the cleanup of fallen trees, etc. if we hadn't had the Yaktrax. Great product! One that REALLY works!

I ride a commuter train to work in all weather, and then walk about 1/2 mile to my office. The streets and sidewalks are usually icy in winter, but I'm able to walk safely at a normal pace with Yak Trax. The only caveat is that you must walk slowly and carefully on slick sheets of ice even with these, but they're the best thing I've found for icy conditions.

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

These do what they are meant to do: provide traction on ice and packed snow. But I have wider than average feet and I find them difficult to put on without sitting down and struggling a bit. Consequently I find myself not using them when I should. Also they are damaging to interior floors, so if you put them on to navigate an icy parking lot, you then need to take them off and carry them around while you are in the store. This is not a flaw in the design, it's just something that needs to be taken into consideration.

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

I now have the comfort of knowing that when it snows or we have an ice storm, I will be able to get up my driveway. It is a long steady incline and before I purchased Yaktrax, I was actually stranded until some one can along and helped me up the hill. They are very compact and you can carry them in your bag or briefcase, with no problem. I have recommended them several times to my friends and family members.

I'm a morning crossing guard. I purchased these YakTraxs to help with walking on the ice covered sidewalks. They really work!!! I really like the ease of putting them on my boots and the light weight style. They are great. New England can get very icy and they really hold up to the ice in my driveway as well. A great product!!

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

My neighbors wanted to know how I could be outside walking when we had a lot of ice this past winter. I told them about my yak-tracks. I had them on my boots and left them on all winter because of the difficulty of getting them on and off. One of the straps broke on me with the cheaper model but were still usable. Next time I would not bother with the less expensive pair. I got my husband the more expensive pair and loved them, he used them for work.

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

I am not at all graceful when it comes to walking on icy and/or slushy sidewalks, driveways, or parking lots. When I moved to Colorado, I knew I had to find something to help me or risk breaking a hip! YakTrax are perfect for people like me! They fit over any kind of shoe, go on and off easily, and give you secure traction even on solid sheets of ice. As long as you buy the right size, the rubber does not stretch out or split. (I say this because I mistakenly bought the wrong size (smaller) for my daughter, and the rubber did split in one place from trying to stretch it over the shoe, but even then it did not break.) I like the black color because it isn't even noticeable that you're wearing them (an important feature for my status-conscious teenager, who also wears them to walk to and from the school bus stop).

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

I attached them to snow boots and left them on all winter. I was a little cautious at first, not knowing how good a grip there would be on ice. No one should be foolhardy, any time. I've recommended them to all those who get out and walk with icy conditions. At least one friend ordered them later.

Thanks for making them available,

Jerry Lester

Comments about Yaktrax® Pair:

I live on a farm and the driveway from house to barn becomes icy with packed snow in winter or freezing rain. These Yaktrax have really saved me from serious injury, I'm sure, but after what I feel was not constant use they broke and I needed another pair. It may be that the professional Yaktrax would be a better choice for me. But I do feel that either choice of Yaktrax is a bit too expensive, especially since they did not last the whole winter.
