I love these gloves for all my gardening chores because they protect my hands without losing dexterity - they 'fit like a glove'! So many of my chores involve the use of water, and these are so much better than leather because they aren't affected by getting wet - I can rinse them out, let them dry, and they're as good as new!

winter work
By kash from Aurora, IN on 2/13/2010
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Good Grip, High Quality, Protective, Warm, Waterproof
Best Uses:
Larger Gardening Jobs, Light Gardening, Wet/Muddy Jobs
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I love these gloves. I use them throughout the growing season. My hands are rough, but my day job requires my hands to look nice (no dirt under my nails, no soil stains around the cuticles, etc...). My day job requires I wash my hands after each patient, hard to keep my hands from cracking. The gloves won't prevent the cracking, but they keep the dirt out. As winter arrives, I add a set of ski glove liners under the gloves and do my barn work (I have 11 horses that compost my garden). That is a lot of poop to scoop. My hands stay warm, and I am a person that has difficulties with staying warm.

These are great gloves for light to moderate gardening chores. They fit like a second skin and I love that they are washable. I always have 2-4 pair on hand and have given them as gifts to family and friends. They do wear out after one or two seasons, but at that price, they're still a bargain!

Great Gloves!
By Studio Fresca from Vermont / Hawaii on 2/5/2010
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Good Grip, Protective
Best Uses:
Handling glass stones
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I use these in my mosaics and art glass studio for handling glass, tile and stones and for cutting glass, as well as when I go out into the field to salvage and collect glass, tile and stone. The fit is perfect even on my tiny little hands. The "feel" of these is great - I can "feel" through the nitrile coating well enough to have great dexterity, yet my hands are protected from the sharp edges of the glass, tile and stones. They are light weight and comfortable, durable and washable and affordably priced. Thank you for making these available!

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I am a patio/terrace gardener so most of what i do would be considered "light" gardening - repotting, pruning, and general maintenance/cleanup. These gloves are perfect for what I do, and perhaps even tougher gardening (but I couldn't say for sure). The fit (size: small) is great, and the gloves do not make me feel clumsy. And the are my favorite color (purple)!

the grip is so good it allows you to pick up the smallest of weeds, no need to take them off like some other gloves do. Use them for all areas of gardening except on thorns. Not bukly at all, can use all the tools without feeling cumbersome. We wear them all the time with the yard work, they are very durable, one pair can last a long time before a hole appears.

Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Good Grip, Protective
Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Larger Gardening Jobs, Light Gardening
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I love wearing these gloves for all general gardening jobs and give them as gifts to gardening friends. I have small hands and prefer the close fit these gloves provide especially when working with containers and seedlings. They provide a good grip even when wet. I do not, however, wear them when pulling weeds with stickers or pruning roses. They were not designed to be impervious to sharp thin points and aren't!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

The thing that I look for in gardening gloves first is flexibility. The tendency is to not wear gloves if they are uncomfortable. These fit snugly, but not too tight and I appreciate being able to work in wet conditions without having soggy gloves. I would not necessarily wear them when pruning thorny bushes, but for everything else, they're great.

Bottom Line:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These gloves are like a second skin! I can handle the most delicate seeds and seedlings, they are waterproof on the palms a finger tips and underneath fingers for handling wet rootings. The back of hands are not waterproof and that's fine because that keeps them breathable and cool! I use about 3 or 4 pair of these a year, only because they are so comfortable that I hate to take them off and use them for all gardening chores, even as comfy liners inside my seriously heavy duty leather gloves. I couldn't ask for them to be any better! I actually used them when warm-water snorkeling a few times because they are so comfortable and provided just enough fingertip and palm protection!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These gloves are easy to slip on and then take off when your job is done. You can still move your fingers freely to pick up debris or whatever, not like some other bulky leather gloves. I used them to do my winter pruning and cutting back perennials. It was muddy and wet but the gloves seemed to be waterproof. They kept my hands dry and warm. I don't think I'll go back to leather gardening gloves.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I am very hard on gloves and most don't get a chance to be used over and over. I usually go through the fingers. If they are leather, the first good wet, muddy job usually renders them stiff and hard to work in. I also have arthritic hands so comfort is important and stiff gloves are NOT comfortable. Your gloves are protective, comfortable, washable without being ruined and fit well so as to give me fine control and a delicate touch. Only drawback, do not protect against thorns.

These are the best garden gloves I have ever found. The nitril is thin enough so I can feel everything I am touching, yet durable so they don't wear through or get pierced by stones and weeds. They wash well (I throw them in the washing machine whenever they get dirty, but not in the drier), they fit well and I love them. I keep several pair so I always have a clean pair to wear.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These protect my hands while letting me "feel" what I'm doing right from the fingertips. I have used disposable medical gloves in the past for the same effect, but they don't "breathe" like these do, and they break with any vigorous use. I still own my original pair - from delicate weeding to heavy pruning, even carpentry - I now put a pair in the car for the cold weather. I use the XS size - that, in itself, is a plus, as I have yet to find any other gloves that fit my small hands so perfectly. The range of sizes make it possible to fit anyone.

I give them as gifts to other gardeners.

These are the best gardening gloves I've found so far! It allows for a delicate touch when weeding small/tight areas and the waterproof tips are great and thick enough to prevent pricks from thorns! The greatest plus is the breathability. Your hands stay nice and dry. The price is fantastic[...]. My last pair lasted about 2 years with moderate use; holes developed in the fingertips due to frequent use around rock/stone. I still wouldn't use any other gloves; I'll just buy more!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have used a pair of these gloves for two years and absolutely love them. I use them for just about every yard/garden chore I have. I am pretty rough on gloves and the fact that the same pair has lasted two years is almost unheard of (the only other long-lasting glove I had was a goat skin glove with a gauntlet that I used for special chores). I especially like the snug cuff that keeps dirt from getting into the glove. I am afraid I did them in when I was cutting thorns off my indoor orange tree and accidently punctured one of the fingers. I have just purchased another two pairs.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have other gloves that I bought previously before discovering these. Because of the way they fit, they seem to help my arthritis in my hands. And I love the fact that they have a snug fit around my wrists so that I don't get compost and soil inside the gloves when I am working in the garden. I am going to wash the other types and give them to GoodWill. I don't want to use any other kind than the nitrile ones and just love the colors.

when these gloves get laden with mud or soil, they do not get baggy and stretched out--they stay on your hands.Since I do a lot of weeding near a wooded area, my favorite feature of these gloves is the rubber-like palms that give me the ability to remove prickly burdocks that get stuck to my clothing.

I was doing some late November yard clean up in my favorite gloves and decided to throw some holiday lights on the evergreens. They are just the right weight to protect my hands as I wrapped the lights around the needly branches. I brought them in to use on the artificial greens inside the house as well. Make 'em in red and green and package them cleverly and I bet you'd sell lots of them!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I like to "feel" what I'm doing when gardening, especially when planting flowers and weeding but I also like to keep my hands and nails looking good. I used to wear medical/surgical gloves but always felt guilty when disposing them adding more trash to the environment. I tried other gloves before but found them too bulky. These are great. It is almost like working with your bear hands. I add them to the "rags load" in my regular wash and they come out looking like brand new again.

I have bought and used these gloves before. I am very tough on gloves and it is difficult to find any that are not terribly bulky, allow my hands to be flexible and don't wear out. These do wear out, but last long enough to seem to make the reasonable price worth purchasing them. I have purchased more expensive, "hardier" gloves without them lasting much longer.

When I first received these glove to plant bulbs for the summer, I was skeptical. But after using them to plant 150 bulbs and prepare winter pansies in both hanging and ground planters, I was hooked. My fingers were not dirty, wet, or difficult to take off. In fact, they are so lightweight, stretchy and comfortable that I threw all of my other gloves away. I plan on ordering a couple more pair to keep on hand just in case someone might want to help.

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I love these gloves - they come in several sizes so I can actually get a size that fits my tiny hands. I wear a carpal tunnel brace on one hand and the larger size stretches to fit. You can easily do delicate tasks, and they also have a great grip. I've bought these for years and they last a long time. Only the front side is waterproof, which is handy, but you can't put your whole hand in water and expect to stay dry. They're also not padded or very protective against thorns. But for what they are, they are fantastic and low-priced. I love the colors, too!

First of all, the colors are great. No getting my gloves mixed up with anyone else's. Also, they stand out and are not lost if taken off and laid near my project.

They are so comfortable and not bulky while working. It is very easy to control your grip and keep projects acurate.

One of many projects I have is trimming and working with tying up berry plants. The thorns and stickers are not a problem and no bleeding!

Love these gloves!!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I love these gloves. However, I was going to order a small size, but read a review where a woman said she has small hands, but the small size was too tight. So, I ordered a medium. They are an okay fit, but I keep wondering if the small would have been just a little bit better. I just might order the small ones next spring, to compare, and if they are too tight I can then give them to my daughter, who has even smaller hands. Sorry to be confusing.

These are the best gardening gloves I've ever used! I love the tight fit - no more dirt getting inside the gloves. The fit also gives you a lot of "feeling" unlike bulky gloves; almost like not wearing gloves at all, but you don't get dirt under your nails. I haven't used them for heavy-duty yard work, but for planting and digging holes for bulbs, they're great!

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I garden at work, garden at home, and buy about 6-8 pair of these gloves each year. As an organic grower, I wish they were made to last longer, but then I suppose the fine finger dexterity I enjoy would be compromised. They are not totally waterproof, obviously, but good enough for weeding which is what I use them for the most. They don't take up a lot of space in my back pocket. They stretch when your hands are swollen and fit most any family member who shows up willing to work! They are also really great for opening jars whose lids are on too tight! Ha!

I use these all through the gardening season, in both the flowerbeds and the veggie garden. They truly do fit snugly enough that I don't feel any loss of dexterity, except if handling fine seeds. My garden is 10' by 10' of as many plants as I can fit in it. I have a large day lily garden surrounding my garden bridge. I use my gloves nearly daily in the spring and summer. They wear well and are very comfortable.

I'm going to give these gloves as gifts
By SissyVerified Purchaser from Tonawanda, NY on 9/8/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Dry fast when wet, Durable
Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Light Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

Most gloves are too large around my wrists resulting in dirt falling down into my hands. These gloves fit snuggly to keep dirt and debris out.

I ususally go through gloves about once every 2 weeks because of the finger tips ripping. These gloves pull the toughest weeds and there isn't a mark on the fingertips.

Cons:
Too Hot
Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Light Gardening, Wet/Muddy Jobs
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I love the way that these gloves prevent dirt and plant matter from "leaking" in at the cuff as so many others do, no matter whether they have a cuff or not. It is, unfortunately (depending on the weather) what makes them a bit warm to wear, but I'll make that trade-off any day. I slather on hand cream and use the warmth to soften my hands while I work.

Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Larger Gardening Jobs, Light Gardening, Pesticide/Chemical Use
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I use these gloves for almost everything; from moving rocks, boulders,
to shoveling soil, to moving ladders, and planting hardy as well as delicate
plants.
I have small hands and they fit me perfectly, are nice in hot weather, and
are thin enough to actually feel what you are working on.
I found out the hard way that they will not protect your hands and wrists from poison ivy. The oil from this plant can get right through the gloves so the next time I used latex gloves under the nitrile gloves.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I use these gloves for many things such as picking up rocks, moving large boulders, shoving soil, carrying ladders, and planting both delicate and hardy plants. I have small hands and they fit me perfectly. They are great in hot weather but learned the hard way that they have their limits. They do not protect your hands and wrists from poison ivy. The oil can get right through the gloves. So, when I used them again in the area where I know poison ivy thrives I wear a pair of latex gloves under the nitrile gloves and am very careful when removing them. I then toss the gloves in the washing machine with my other out door clothing and was with hot water. I love these gloves!

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I wouldn't say these gloves are waterproof, but if you're doing a wet/muddy job you can still get a good grip on whatever but you hands will not stay dry. I don't limit the use of the gloves to gardening - they are very lightweight, but effectively protect my hands from the jobs around the house, garage and yard. I have worn holes in my first pair - and still use them at times - but have purchsed two more pair. These are one of my essential "tools" in my toolbag.

Pros:

Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Wet/Muddy Jobs
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I first ordered the gloves in a size small because I was told they run large when I asked about that. They were tighter than I like gloves to be and ended up being too hot and created moisture inside. Fortunatley my sister has smaller hands so I gave the small gloves to her. I ordered more in a size medium and they are great. They offer good control at the fingertips, the fingertips don't wear through, and mud can be easily washed off of the palms and fingers. Definitely puts an end to dirt under the fingernails.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

Because I have a very expensive French manicure every other week, I have to wear gloves gardening. Others always wear out at the tips and start to leak soil and moisture making my nails look like a mechanic's. Many are just too bulky for weeding. But the Nitrile gloves are amazing! I have given them to every member of my family as Christmas stocking stuffers. They are inexpensive enough to keep two pair: one for laundry. These gloves are so comfortable I don't know they are on. The also protect my watch. When I take them off my manicure is clean and fresh. The are the best tool in my garden basket!

best light gardening gloves ever
By yard ladyVerified Purchaser from austin, tx on 8/6/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Cool, Good Grip, High Quality, Light weight, Perfect for potting
Cons:
Not for heavy weeding
Best Uses:
Delicate Jobs, Light Gardening, Pesticide/Chemical Use, Potting
Describe Yourself:
Master Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

These are my favorite gardening gloves. They are extremely comfortable, light and cool enough for gardening all summer long in hot hot Texas. Perfect weight and snug fit for potting, light pruning or spraying. My only complaint is that the coating on the fingertips comes off with heavy hand weeding and although the gloves are still intact, dirt will then get under your nails.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I've owned at least 10 different kinds of gloves; some I go through the fingers in one use. These are light, very easy to feel what you're doing and wear quite well. They're not waterproof, but that's about the only thing they're not. These have lasted longer than leather, cotton with nubby palms or really, any others I have tried. (I put them in the washer when they get really soiled, they come through just fine) I highly recommend them for general/heavy duty gardening.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

I have half a dozen pair of gardening gloves and these are the ones I use most. Great for semi-muddy work that makes cloth or leather soggy. I transplant, repot, weed and prune in them. I've never been big on gloves for light gardening, but now I use these all the time. They're thin enough to feel what you're doing but they last really well. Use buckskin instead for thorny jobs, though, so you don't puncture and ruin the waterproof part. The hybrid style is cooler and fits better than all rubber and it's easier to get the insides dried out. Got two pair for my mother, a second for me.

Comments about Nitrile Gloves:

When gardening, I used to quickly discard my garden gloves because I couldn't feel the soil or the plants. Plus, most gloves were bulky and disallowed a good grip on garden tools. When one of my students gave me a pair of nitrile gloves as a gift, my attitude toward gloves changed forever! These gloves allow the gardener to maintain a natural feel of the soil, the plants, and all related tasks. The snug fit makes the gloves feel like a second skin but they are not at all restrictive. Go ahead and get dirty, muddy, or soaking wet. These gloves clean up in a snap. When dry, the dirt falls away with a few quick brushes against your pants (or a towel for the fussy few). If the soil is moist or muddy, just hose off the gloves and hang them up to dry. Perfection with ease. I love these gloves so much that I purchased a pair for all five of my gardening sisters and mailed them to each sibling. From Florida to Iowa, from Colorado to northern Idaho, from Missouri to South Dakota, all of my sisters report that these are the best garden gloves they have ever owned.
