For me the chair sits better with out the lumbar cushion. Probably would have rather spent the money on the foot stool that goes with the reader chairs. It does add very nice contrast to the fabric of the cushions.

This pillow and others that go with it are very manageable by the very young and the very old since we have to take inside after every use. They are neither too heavy nor unwieldy by those groups who would have trouble with the heavy, cumbersome type cushions.
