Instructions for Hellebores
Sometimes called the lenten rose, the hellebore has dark green, leathery, toothed leaves and long-lasting flowers that bloom from late winter to early spring. There are many varieties, with flowers in shades of pink, purple, green, yellow and white. This perennial is native to Europe and Asia and grows best in part shade with alkaline soil.
Hardiness: Depends on variety, but most are hardy from Zones 6 to 9.
Light: High light indoors; part-shade outdoors.
Water: Water regularly, but don't allow the soil to get soggy.
Fertilizer: Feed once or twice per year with a balanced fertilizer.
