Title: Customer Contact Center Trainer

When I started at Gardener’s Supply: 1998

My gardening style: Sold my tiller. Now I garden in self-watering containers, Grow Bags and raised beds. I start my own seeds. I've always had a garden for as long as I can remember. My grandfather grew the greatest tomatoes and beans. We had canned food all winter.

Vegetables or flowers?: I like to grow what I eat, so vegetables and herbs dominate my garden. I love flowers on the table so flowers pop up here and there.

Best gardening tip I ever got: Moisten all materials that go into the compost bin.

What do you like about working at Gardener's Supply?: We're employee-owned so I have a direct stake in how well we do. We help each other succeed.

What else I do around here: I coordinate the Garden Guru program in our Contact Center. It's a series of trainings on gardening topics, such as seedstarting, composting and pest control. It ensures that we have plenty of gardening experts in our Contact Center.

Favorite free-time activities: Grandparenting. And now, with Skype, I see my youngest granddaughter most days — even though she is 2,100 miles away.

What people probably don’t know about me:  I’m a winemaker. Though we make jellies and jams, I had to find another use for elderberries, apples, pears and crabapples we grow.
