This shadow box showcases a cherished photo of my grandfather, taken about 1927. I will add elements that help tell help the story and enhance the memory.

Add a spacer of some kind to the back of the framed photo to make it "float" within the shadow box. I used a cardboard ribbon spool attached to the back of the photo frame, and glued the assembly to the back of the shadow box. Use putty if you want to try different arrangements before gluing it in place.
I threaded wide, grossgrain ribbon through the hanging ring on the frame and taped the ribbon to the ceiling of the shadow box. The ribbon isn't supporting the weight of
I added pebbles to the bottom of the shadow box, and gathered some favorite shells and trinkets.
The shadow box becomes a three-dimensional collage that you can rearrange and add to over time.
Decorate the outside of the box, too!
