All-Purpose Fertilizer

Organic fertilizers release nutrients slowly over time. This means they can be applied just once or twice during the growing season, yet plants can access nutrients as needed. Slow-release nutrients are also less likely to be leached from the soil and find their way into local waterways. Some crops require more nutrients than others: corn and tomatoes are “heavy feeders” whereas peppers produce better when they’re not overfed. Check our Vegetable Encyclopedia for specific recommendations.
