I use this rack to store our vegetable harvest in the cellar. It has ample room for winter squash, potatoes, garlic, etc. and a few canning jars as well. I bought the smaller of the two and find that it has enough space. The rack is stable, the shelves pull out easily and the rack looks good. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

For the budget conscious...I couldn't buy the wood alone for the sale price plus shipping on this storage unit. The pine used in this product is finished--very smooth, no splinting. Attractive enough to leave out in the house in a room with the correct temperature for the produce being stored--in our case that means the living room for our squash! Looks like fall decore.

I ordered this specifically to store potatoes, onions and winter squash from the garden. It would also be great for apples but remember to store them separately. You can't store apples with other veggies as they give off ethylene gas and cause things to ripen . Also remember to keep onions and potatoes way from light. I put this in my basement which was perfect.
The rack was put together easily, and quickly. it took maybe half an hour. I would have given it five stars, but the screws that held the back brace in place were too short and would not hold. I simply went to the hardware and bought longer screws, which worked fine. The drawers slide in and out easily and it works very well. Large squash can be stored in the top part and even large onions fit in the drawers.

I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my husband. We were both impressed with how easy it was to put together. It it just what we needed to store the large quantities of potatoes, onions, and garlic that we grow and use. The rack itself is solid and sturdy, and the shelves slide easily.
