Gave some to my mother for Xmas over a year ago. Also bought myself some. We live in different states and I am visiting her this weekend. I walked out back and hers had faded so she bought two cans of spray paint. Took her a couple of minutes to spray and now they are bright bright blue and bright yellow. They look great!! My sister just arrived in town, saw them and now she wants some. Great idea for a gift for her. Instead of fussing over them fading just get some spray paint. Problem solved!!!!

I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE--I WAS HESITANT AT FIRST AND ONLY ORDERED 2--I WAS SO IMPRESSED, I ORDERED 8 MORE--I LINED A WALKWAY LEADING GUESTS TO THE BACKYARD--THEY LOOKED SO BEAUTIFUL, I DECIDED TO LEAVE THEM PERMANENTLY AND NO MAINTENANCE--BUY THEM!

These are fun and look great, but unfortunately after just 3 months outside in the summer (in Seattle) they had dramatically faded and had begun to rust from sprinkler water. They must be taken in at end of summer, and don't plan on them looking great after 1 or 2 seasons.

After 2 years, I've just now had to repaint them. I first used a rust covering spray primer and then spray painted them my choice of colors. They look great! I even touched the ends with gold paint just like the original finish. Took only a couple hours and the neighbors are talking about them again!

I bought the purple ones and they were bright and sparking when I first put them up last spring, however, 5 months later they have faded to blue and lost the gold sparkle on the tips. Still are nice to look at but not as fun.
