Collect free rainwater for gardens with the large-capacity Woody Wall Tank Rain Barrel. With an unobtrusive, clapboard-style design and narrow profile,
it tucks up against your home to provide a subtle design element while collecting rainwater. Naturally chlorine-free, rainwater is ideal for watering gardens
and can be a lifesaver when watering restrictions are in place. It's made from long-lasting polyethylene with a realistic wood-like surface texture and extra
thick walls for stability and durability. Along with the rain barrel, you'll also get a Universal Downspout Kit that provides everything you need to connect the
barrel to your downspout. The kit includes a drill bit that allows you to drill the necessary hole in the rain barrel, so you can customize placement of the intake
hose based on where you place the barrel, as well as an integrated filter to remove debris from water before it enters the barrel.
Ordered this great looking barrel after calling customer service to make sure it could be used on a round downspout - a return call assured that the universal adaptor kit shown on the website took care of my concern.
#1. Problem - They don't ship the universal kit with the barrel - they ship a kit which works with a rectangular downspout.
#2. Problem - Because the barrel is large and unweildy and packed optimistically it arrived with damage to each corner and edge and a couple of gouges in the front.
#3. Problem - Customer Service
a. Monday - Called customer service when it was delivered and outlines problems 1 and 2. Paul, helpful said they would research and get back to me. b. Tuesday - Followup call - told they are working on it, will get back to me. c. Friday - Followup call -referred to PJ, who takes time to figure out that the kit provided is not the one advertised on the website. - This takes a back and forth over a couple of hours - nothing straight forward here. Shipment of the replacement kit via ground leaving Vermont the following Tuesay is promised - no urgency on their end. d. I take photographs of damage and email to PJ at the end of the conversation. No acknowledgement of receipt - no followup. e. Following Thursday - no kit, no followup. Call - get fedex tracking, something they don't automatically supply - kit shipped from Texas not Vermont - so shipping 4 days. Still no followup on damage. f. Thursday - Email to customer service - detailing above and asking for acknowledgement of images and suggested damage resolution. g. Tuesday - Called my credit card and had mediated conversation with customer service - apparently this is their busy time of year so no time for customers who buy expensive rain barrels with shipping damage.
Problem now resolved after 8 calls and 2 emails from me (3 calls before placing order to make sure it would work for our space and 5 calls and two emails after damaged merchandise received). 3 calls from them one before order received to answer various merchandise questions , 2 from PJ on kit issue after my 3rd call. Email - no answers - only a computerized autoresponse.
Bottom line I like the rain barrel but can't recommend this company.
Was this a gift?:
