New | Super-Sized Trellis Supports Big Plants

  • Support your biggest, heaviest vines
  • Get a bigger, cleaner harvest and save garden space
  • Use jute twine to make end-of-season cleanup a breeze
  • Twine not included

String twine between hooks on the hinged wooden frames, and in minutes you have a sturdy trellis for vining flowers and vegetables, from squash, cucumbers and pole beans to sweet peas and morning glories. At the end of the season, clean-up is easy: Simply cut the twine, gather up plants and toss it all into the compost. Frame is made from 1-3/8" square, unfinished fir and can be painted, stained or oiled. We recommend our Twin Spool Garden Twine, sold separately.

  • Each side is 31-1/2" W x 59-3/4" H
  • Twine not included

good idea, needs refining

By school garden lady

from long island new york

Pros

  • Easy storage
  • Sturdy frame

Cons

  • Time-consuming To String
  • Unstable

Best Uses

Nice folding trellis -- but why does it have no feet?? The bottom support rests flat on the ground and will probably rot . Also, with no feet to dig into the soil I needed to use earth staples to anchor. I bought six for a school garden and strung each with a different color of twine from the twine gift pack -- fun to look at, but time-consuming to string. Almost all trellises were sturdily made and easy to put together, but one had a piece with the holes drilled backwards -- the hooks were on the wrong side. So far they are holding a variety of vining plants very nicely, including some thick, vigorous gourds. Have not seen them tested yet by wind or end-of-season fruit weight.
