Best Uses

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:

I first purchased in 2009 because it looked like terra cotta and is so attractive. Loved it but after 8 yrs the spigot went bad and needed to use the hose so decided to replace with the exact same rain barrel. Love the look and convenience of this rain barrel. Hope this one lasts as long as the first one or longer. Only thing I don't like is the top 1/2 has section that accumulates water so I drilled three holes for water to fall in barrel. I would prefer the entire top with removable screen (like 1/2 currently is) and able to open to clean if necessary.

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:

I bought this rain barrel to replace another type of boxy rain barrel that leaked badly. I'm very happy with this new rain barrel. It fits nicely under my existing drain pipe. It works well and looks great.

This item could use a little re-thinking

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:

This is a smaller version of the larger rain barrel that works well. The challenge is the hose connection in the front, which would be better off somewhere else. The hose also needs a hardier S hook to hold it to the side.

Rains a lot in southern Mississippi and gets very hot in summer. And then again, we might go weeks
with high heat and no rain......Perfect way to conserve and use rain. Easy to use. Looks great and
holds a lot of rain water. Been wanting to order this for 2 years and finally did. Get one. You'll love it.

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:

I've had this product for over 5 years. The hose and connection is the worst part about it. The hose slips on over a plastic nib, and uses a metal band to tighten it on. I don't know how many times it's come off, and I've lost all the water in the barrel. The hose is not a standard size, and over the years has cracked and you can't find that diameter hose in local hardware or big box stores.
The gunk that grows inside can never be cleaned out.
The spigot only works well if the barrel is completely full.
Like others, I had to drill holes in the top compartment to prevent a mosquito nesting ground.
But after all the negatives, I still love it and it still looks good after 5+ years.
