Exclusive | Extra-Tall Tomato Towers Support Your Tallest Tomatoes

Order this item by 11 a.m. EST, Dec. 17 for guaranteed delivery by Dec. 24 with Economy Shipping

  • Super-sturdy cages keep your tallest tomato plants upright for a bigger, cleaner harvest
  • Big, 8" square openings make harvesting easy
  • Hinged panels fold flat for compact storage
  • Choice of Red, Green or Steel Gray
  • Set of 2

You asked us for taller tomato cages and here they are! Our heavy-duty, steel Tomato Towers are much taller and stronger than old-fashioned cone-shaped supports, ready to support your biggest indeterminate tomato plants. The towers support plants on all sides (no tying needed) and keep plants up off the ground for better air circulation, cleaner fruit and fewer diseases. Large openings make harvesting easy, and the towers fold flat for off-season storage. 53" high installed. In windy locations, we recommend anchoring these towers with our Extra-Tall Earth Staples, sold separately.

  • Steel Gray is galvanized steel; Red and Green are powder-coated steel
  • 14-1/4" square x 65" H including 11" legs
  • 53" H installed
  • 8" square openings
  • Sturdy 10 gauge wire
  • Easy, no-tools assembly
  • Cages fold for off-season storage
  • Gardener's Supply Exclusive

Comments about Tomato Towers, Set of 2:

This taller tower works so much better with our tomatoes. On the downside, they were blown somewhat sideways in a big storm. Between the storm and attempts to straighten them, several welds gave way.

Comments about Tomato Towers, Set of 2:

l love the tomato towers, although l do not necessarily use them for tomatoes. They are great for peas, string beans, purple long beans and this year used them for lima beans. l found they do not have to be set in a square. l needed to put them in a narrow area and found they do just as well in an elongated diamond shape. l plan to take some apart and use them as fencing next year.

The coated (green) tower did not last through even one season. Legs and cross bars separated without undue pressure.

I just love them. Tried several kinds in past and these are just the best. Super easy to set up, store and supports plants great. No more tying up plants. Can be used for any plant that climbs. Watch the ends in the hinges though--can scratch if not mindful.

Comments about Tomato Towers, Set of 2:

Overall, very good product. Having a stainless steel base would be better, though; as is, they will rot faster over time. I cut off each of the 8 legs on the bottom of the tower and bent one end of the severed legs to make them into "stakes." I then drove the 8 spikes into the ground, slightly angled. Even with lush growth (after pruning, that is), the cages were rock solid. If the cages were manufactured this way (using a "stake" setup, as opposed to "fixed" legs), this would be the best cage you could buy.

These work really well for tomatoes - good support and easy to store. They are attractive too. I had four and I just bought two more. These last two will support my snap peas until it is time for more tomatoes

These are great for tomatoes, but I ordered extras for use in trellising peas, cucmbers, and anything else that needs a stable, compact space to grow upward which is a must in my small garden.

Comments about Tomato Towers, Set of 2:

Tomato Towers are an improvement over the older version. While both more than adequately allowed tomatoes to grow vertically, the increased height and narrower horizontal cross section allowed the a tomato plant to grow higher and with more support making a healthier and more productive plant. In addition, I found if I spaced the towers two feet apart I could span 3' bamboo poles between the towers to create a tomato "wall" in my garden. The red color is a nice aesthetic as well as functional addition with the red predicting the ripening of the tomatoes to come and the color allowing one to easily work with the cage system since it was so easy to visually separate from the surrounding plant foliage.
