Exclusive | Success Kits Grow Bigger, Healthier Tomatoes – Garden-Tested and Guaranteed!

  • The most convenient, foolproof way to grow your own delicious tomatoes
  • Self-watering to provide a steady supply of moisture for optimal tomato production
  • Container growing reduces weeding and chances of soil-borne disease
  • Includes planter, cage support, soil mix and fertilizer
  • For easy mobility, add a set of optional casters, sold separately

Our exclusive Tomato Success Kits have helped thousands of gardeners grow big crops of healthier, tastier tomatoes. The self-watering planter has a generous, 4-gallon reservoir that provides a steady flow of moisture to plants. This eliminates the "drought and drown" cycle that stresses plants, helping your tomatoes outperform garden-grown plants by 30% or more. The kit includes a two-part stacking tomato cage and 40 quarts of our exclusive Self-Watering Container Mix. It also includes 1-1/2 lbs. of Gardener's Best Organic Tomato Fertilizer, an 8-5-5 slow-release fertilizer that is fortified with 4-1/2% calcium to help prevent blossom end rot.

  • Self-Watering Planter is 26" L x 19-3/4" W x 10-1/2" H
  • Tomato Cage is 14-1/2" W x 21-1/2" D x 30" H with 8" legs (38" overall)
  • Two 20-quart bags of Self-Watering Container Mix
  • 1-1/2 lbs. of 8-5-5 Gardener's Best Organic Tomato Fertilizer (contains meat, bone and blood meals; hydrolyzed feather meal, sulfate of potash and calcium)
  • For best results, plant two determinate or one indeterminate tomato
  • Tomato plants not included

              A quality product!

              By The Old Greenwich Gardener

              from CT

              Pros

              • Easy to put together
              • Looks great
              • Perfect for patios
              • Quality construction

              Cons

              • Drainage holes

              Best Uses

I just put this together last night for the first time. The instructions were easy to read, it was relatively simple to put together, and it looks like it will be quite sturdy as it is made of quality materials. I have two caveats on assembly: first, if the tomato success container is going to be used outside, you have to make holes in two specific spots using either a hammer and nail or scissors (which required me to stop what I was doing, go track down those items, and then use some "elbow grease" to make the holes) right in the middle of the assembly process. Second, as another reviewer mentioned, the soil and tomato food are included but come in separate bags, and the instructions require the the soil and food to be mixed together and moistened in "another container" before the mix is added to the tomato success container. If you don't have another container big enough to mix these two things together before putting them into the tomato success container, the process will be much more difficult. For me, neither of these assembly issues detracts from the usefulness of the kit: I think it will be a wonderful addition to my container garden for many years, and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another--however, customers looking for a truly all-inclusive kit (and customers who are on the frail side) might want to take note and make sure they are prepared to handle these assembly issues.
Suggestions for Gardener's Supply Co. on next year's model: (1) make the tops of the outdoor drainage spouts detachable, so that customers aren't required to drill holes (this is supposed to be an "all in one" product, after all), and (2) send the soil and plant food pre-mixed in a single bag (again, customers shouldn't need outside materials to put this kit together).

I have 2 of these and used different kinds of tomatoes in each but got fabulous harvests out of both. Even though it was a bit awkward filling with the wet container mix, it was very easy to get a great harvest. Having the wheels on the bottom made it very easy to move when I needed to. I use these where I used to use large containers.
