Growing tomatoes has never been easier. Our exclusive Tomato Success Kits have helped thousands of gardeners grow big crops of healthier, tastier tomatoes. The self-watering planter has a generous, 4-gallon reservoir that provides a steady flow of moisture to plants. This eliminates the "drought and drown" cycle that stresses plants, helping your tomatoes outperform garden-grown plants by 30% or more. The kit includes a two-part stacking tomato cage and 40 quarts of our exclusive Self-Watering Potting Mix with SuperRoot Booster. Specially formulated for self-watering containers, it offers superior wicking action to ensure plants get the water they need to thrive. SuperRoot Booster with MycoActive® Technology creates the living soil mix that plants need to thrive. The secret? Mycorrhizae, amazing microbes that form a partnership with roots to support vigorous and resilient plant growth. The kit also includes 1 lb. of our Organic Tomato Fertilizer, a 5-6-5 slow-release fertilizer that ensures an abundant harvest of delicious tomatoes (contains peanut meal).

Lots and lots of bloom end rot :(

By Brandy

from Maryland

Comments about : Tomato Success Kit:

I purchased this product in hopes to be able to give my tomato plants a better home than last year period instead what I got were half dead plants and a bunch of Bloom end rot tomatoes. I'm an avid gardener and don't generally experience problems with any of my plants. I followed the instructions to the T and definitely did not achieve success. :( in fact, the unattended tomato plants that self seeded from last year's garden bed did significantly better than the ones planted in the tomato success kit. I'm currently in communications with the company to get a refund or rebate.

      • Not Tomatoes

Comments about : Tomato Success Kit:

My wife and I were really looking forward to this kit since we have been long time in ground vegetable growers and want to transition to patio growing.

We planted a couple of different varieties to begin with and these tomato plants just did not thrive. They did not die, but just stayed stunted and never produced flowers.

We thought that it just might be the varieties we picked, so we went with two different varieties and got the same results. They just remained stunted and didn't thrived (no flowers and few new leaves).

We planted cucumbers in one of these kits (right next to the tomatoes) and got good results. We treated both tomatoes and cucumbers the same manner and just the tomatoes didn't grow.

In the same area we have (in different containers) bell pepper, jalapeno peppers and herbs. All are growing fine.

We followed instructions to the letter and did not over-water. Used the provided soil and fertilizer. The only thing we can come up with is that there must of been some virus in either the soil or fertilizer provided that affected the tomatoes.

          Works with more than tomatoes

Comments about : Tomato Success Kit:

These are truly a success kit on many levels. I have an old style kit from probably 10 years ago, and have grown tomatoes, basil, celantro, and eggplants in it. Plus, I just leave it out during our harsh Montana winters and it is still good as new. I bought the new version, with side spout for adding water, which is a great design improvement! Makes it so easy to add the water now. I have them side by side on the south side of a concrete pad behind my garden shed, where they get blasted by sun for hours every day. I have burned cactus plants in that spot in the past, but my tomatoes and eggplants thrive in the tomato success pots. With a ready and constant source of water available with the 4 gallon reservoir, they grow like weeds! My tomato plants are double the size of others I bought at the same time and planted elsewhere in the garden. Would highly recommend these kits to anyone who want real success in growing tomatoes, especially if they have a less than ideal spot that cooks their other plants.

Comments about : Tomato Success Kit:

I bought two of the tomato success kits to growing tomato's in. The box was nice and sturdy, but the cover for the watering holes was cheaply made and broke right away. Also some of the clips on the trellis arrived broken. The broken parts were replaced by Garden Supply Company. I will order extra spare parts in case I have to replace broken parts in the future.

This container was easy to assemble and very functional. Don't have garden space due to construction this summer but still wanted to grow tomatoes. The casters roll better than others we have under pots so we can move the plants as needed based on sun and wind. The cage part is sturdy and should hold the plants well.

Comments about : Tomato Success Kit:

This product is just great! Easy to set up, grows great tomatoes and is easy to replenish and reuse year after year. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is why don't these come with the wheel set instead of having to order the wheels separately? I can't imagine using these on a patio without the wheels, they are quite heavy when filled with water. I have had to wait for wheels on back order for several weeks and by that time the planters are heavy and require two people to lift them and put the wheels on the bottom. Other than the wheel issue- These are a great product and I will purchase again and recommend them to my friends and family.

Comments about : Tomato Success Kit:

I purchased the Tomato Success Kit after researching several of the Gardner's Supply tomato planting kits and am so happy I did. The box is spacious enough for 2 tomatoes (very important) so I planted Brandywine and Sweet 100 tomato plants. They are at least twice as big as they were 3 weeks ago, and there are tiny tomatoes already forming on the branches. The directions are important to follow so the watering will filter appropriately through the root system. The cage surrounding the tomato box is quite sturdy; yet, I do have a pole to support the Sweet 100 because it is an indeterminate tomato plant. There is not quite enough room for a round cage. The best part is it's on my deck so I can enjoy it and not have to walk to the back 40 of my backyard to care for them. Yay! Also, the deck gets plenty of sunshine (very important during this soggy summer thus far) and there is no weeding or worry about pests. I expect to get years of delicious summer tomatoes using the Tomato Success Kit.
