Attractive and seem to be sturdy. Have two bags that look good at the edge of the carport. Just planted tomatoes yesterday so cannot comment on durability, etc.

I actually purchased these last year when the design was a bit different; it was more of a square shape and didn't have handles. I was prepared to love planting in them but I had problems right off with my plants drying out too fast. I planted 4 tomatoes in the bags, 5 in raised beds, and 1 in a large ceramic planter. The tomatoes in the bags just needed so much water I couldn't keep up, they were really stunted compared to all the others. I do live in Philadelphia, and my yard is super sunny and hot (great for tomatoes!), I think that these bags would work better in a slightly cooler climate, or maybe with plants that weren't getting so much sun.

I live at 7000 feet so tomato season has not begun. These bags will support my cherry tomatoes just fine. I am looking forward to lots of tomatoes this year.

                        Best Uses

I've only used this for a month, but tomatoes are growing very well and already have tennis-ball sized fruit (Arizona). I wish you made a protective mosquito-cloth cover that would fit over the whole assembly, to keep birds off the fruit. Preferably not in a white cloth, which looks terrible in a garden. I can and do improvise with fabric and clothes pins, but a loosely fitted cover would be easier.

I have many years experience growing tomatoes in grow bags and can tell you these bags are too small for a tomato plant to last through the summer. Gardeners Supply has eliminated the bags I purchased for years, which were ample size 16 x 16 x 18 and would fit their square cages that could be re-used every year. The large bags would just make it through August with good crops. Now Gardener's Supply wants us to believe tomatoes will grow in a 12" dia bag more suitable for smaller plants, like peppers. While the bags look cute in the photos, they will not sustain tomatoes throughout the summer, because tomatoes are BIG plants. You can see in the photo the plant will tip over easily. You are paying for handles and sewn-in cage holder slots, when what you really need is a bigger bag. Also the shape has changed from square to circle, eliminating more grow space. Sorry Gardener's Supply, this is a FAIL.

I planted a plum tomato in the bag 3 weeks ago and it is growing nicely and already has buds. My only concern is how strong the plastic supports will be. Don't know if I feel comfortable using it for heavier tomatoes like beefsteak.
