Super-Sturdy Tomato Cages Support Heavy Yields

  • Extra-strong tomato cages keep tomato plants upright for a bigger, cleaner harvest
  • Big, 8" square openings make harvesting easy
  • Hinged panels fold flat for compact storage

Longtime customer favorites, our heavy-duty, galvanized steel tomato cages are taller, wider and stronger than old-fashioned cone-shaped supports. And unlike flimsier versions, these are strong enough to support full-grown vines loaded with tomatoes. The tomato cages support plants on all sides (no tying needed) and keep plants up off the ground for better air circulation, cleaner fruit and fewer diseases. Large openings make harvesting easy, and the cages fold flat for off-season storage. In windy locations, we recommend anchoring with our Extra-Tall Earth Staples, sold separately.

  • Steel Gray is galvanized steel; Red and Green are powder-coated steel
  • 14-3/8" square x 39" H including 7" legs; 32" H installed
  • 8" square openings
  • 10 gauge wire
  • Cages fold for easy off-season storage
  • Gardener's Supply Exclusive

Best Uses

  • Peas

Bought these on sale at the end of last season. Installed them at the appropriate time (rather than trying to rescue weighted down vines!) and everything grew right into them. They are lightweight, I hope they will clean off & store for several years to get my money's worth out of them. So far I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Easy to use around established plants!

My tomato plants were already a few feet tall so putting these cages around them was easy and didn't break any branches. The plants have more room to breathe in these cages than the traitional round supports you can buy everywhere.

Very sturdy, even under large heavy plants. Unfortunately I did not get them until after my tomatoes had gotten large, but if you put the cadges out when the plants are small I believe they would work great. I am definitely buying more for next season.

So far these tomato cages are doing a great job.
I have a couple of the old round cages and yesterday one fell over. Hopefully these new cages will not have this problem.

                • Small spaces

I buy a new set of these cages each year to expand my garden area and as gifts for friends. The cages area great for tomato and cucumber plants and work well for vertical gardening in a small space. Two tomato "cages" can be stacked together and end up higher than the tomato "tower" product. After several years, the cages get a little rust on them, but overall, a great product and worth the money...the square shape is so much better than the typical round style for stability and plant volume.

                Cons

                • Over priced

                Best Uses

These red tomato cages were backordered so they must be popular. They arrived well packaged with no bends, scratches or damage. There is no assembly required. Just cut the plastic strapping and snap the cages outward into a square. The coating was very uniform with no drips or runs. It appears the cages are powder coated but I can't say for sure. If so, this will improve the life of the cages. Only negative is the high cost.

This year for my 90 y/o father in law, I planted more tomatoes than usual in his garden. He is able to manage their care and doesn't have to get "down" to pick beans etc. These cages are great for him.
