Super-Sturdy Tomato Cages Support Heavy Yields

  • Extra-strong tomato cages keep tomato plants upright for a bigger, cleaner harvest
  • Big, 8" square openings make harvesting easy
  • Hinged panels fold flat for compact storage

Longtime customer favorites, our heavy-duty, powder-coated steel tomato cages are taller, wider and stronger than old-fashioned cone-shaped supports. And unlike flimsier versions, these are strong enough to support full-grown vines loaded with tomatoes. The tomato cages support plants on all sides (no tying needed) and keep plants up off the ground for better air circulation, cleaner fruit and fewer diseases. Large openings make harvesting easy, and the cages fold flat for off-season storage. In windy locations, we recommend anchoring with our Extra-Tall Earth Staples, sold separately.

  • Powder-coated steel
  • 14-3/8" square x 39" H including 7" legs; 32" H installed
  • 8" square openings
  • 10 gauge wire
  • Cages fold for easy off-season storage
  • Gardener's Supply Exclusive

Love these!

I actually had 28 of these, and this purchase was for an additional set of4. They are my favorite tomato cages because they are a great deal, able to fold flat for storage, and super sturdy (they don't get lifted out of the ground by vigorous plants the way the round wire kind do). They are technically better sized for determinate tomatoes, but I have had great results letting indeterminates grow up to the top of the cage and then drape down over the sides. The cages sometimes become unhinged if I'm not careful lifting them out of the ground at the end of the season, but it's easy enough to pop them back together. I have actually deliberately unhinged one once when I needed an extra cucumber trellis. Ours are only on their second season, but they have so far lived up to the "lifetime" part of their name.

I ordered these in red and they add so much color to the garden. The fact that they fold so flat is wonderful for storing after the season is over.

I have bought these cages for the past few years, I replace them whenever they get rusty. This time I got the 'green' coated ones, perhaps they won't rust as fast...

I gave 4 stars because I've had these tomato cages up for only a week, but I love them already and have ordered a second set. The day I put them up in my raised beds we had a big wind and rainstorm but they stood firm (I did stake the corner of each cage as recommended), and the tomato plants were not knocked over.
