Automators Grow Healthier Tomato Plants Four Ways

  • Grow healthier and more productive tomato plants
  • Delivers water at the root zone and suppresses weeds
  • Protects plants from cutworms and other pests
  • Set of 3

These deceptively simple tomato plant surrounds will produce healthier, more productive tomato plants with less effort from you. When planting, just slip an automator around the stem of each seedling to suppress weeds and protect against cutworms. Perforated cones direct water to the root zone. Bright red color triggers a natural plant protein that makes tomatoes mature faster and produce more fruit. Easy to use, but provides a big boost to your tomatoes.

  • Plastic
  • 12" square
  • Reusable for several seasons
  • Can be placed around plant stems any time during the growing season

Comments about Tomato Automators, Set of 3:

From the description one would think these "automators" would hold water for a length of time. Instead the water runs right through it. You might just as well water the ground directly.

Comments about Tomato Automators, Set of 3:

We are going to buy more for 2015 so we have enough to use for our pepper plants. We did a test a couple of years ago on tomato plants and the difference between the plants with the automaters and the plants without was obvious. The automaters make healthier tomato plants.

This is too flimsy! The holes for watering are too large to let the water trickel. The opening for the stalk is too small. Not worth the time nor money.

Comments about Tomato Automators, Set of 3:

I have 15 of these that I have used for the past 2 seasons now. The first year I used these as well as red plastic and the plants that were in the automators grew much larger and I had a much better harvest, I harvested 140 lbs of tomatoes this year vs approximately 80 pounds in 2012! I have used these with both tomatoes and sweet pepper plants and have gotten a larger harvest of both; will only use these going forward. I place them in the garden when I plant as have better luck with getting them set in the ground properly. I also set my plant supports at the same time which helps to keep the automators in place in the garden as the wind blows them around otherwise.

Comments about Tomato Automators, Set of 3:

I used this product in our raised beds and found that it did nicely for most of the season but the stalk of the tomatoes got bigger than the hole. When I attempted to remove the container from around the base of the tomato plant, the container split in half. The intense California sun seemed to make these units brittle and many just fell apart at the end of the season. I had six of these and only one survived intact by the end of the season.

Comments about Tomato Automators, Set of 3:

I am using these units in my riased bed. We are having hotter and longer growing seasons these past two years and do not think the anything will change. My tomato plants need this product to preform better. Consistent moisture is extremely important especially at the cottage on Lake Ontario. We are not there 7 days a week and this product will aid in the days we are not there. I plan on using them also with other crops. My past experience with this product has been very positive.

It is putting the water and plant food where I want but the trays will only hold up for one season I'm afraid. Therefore they are overpriced.

Comments about Tomato Automators, Set of 3:

My 2 young cherry tomato plants were not thriving; they were skinny little pencils with great distance between leaves, standing pitifully in the center of tall almost-empty tomato cages. I blamed their their increasingly shady location. Hoping to boost any potential production I bought a package of Tomato Automators - for only [$], it was worth a try. Three days ago I installed them on the exisitng tomato plants without difficulty, though I did break one lower leaf in the process. The plastic trays have more depth than I had expected, but troweling away a bit of soil settled them into place. I put the edges of the Automators diagonal to the square tomato cages and did not add fertilizer to the holes as directed because a slow release fertilizer was already incorporated into the soil when planting in May. The plants got a generous drink of water the next day, normal routine. When I checked on them this morning, to my great surprise I found that those 2 little plants have grown at least 15 inches in just under 3 days. They're poking out of the tops of their cages! I can only attribute it to the influence of the Tomato Automators! Nothing else has changed. I'm shocked! I wasn't expecting that kind of effect. I can only hope that production will be great and those plants will be teaming with sweet little red tomatoes before long. It's only been 3 days but so far, I'm a believer!
