Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I got this to see how well I could use grass clippings to make compost, and it proved that it works and is not that hard to do. I bought a Compost Crank (TM) to aerate and it helps a lot. I used zip ties in addition to - and after a while, instead of - the platic snap fasteners. They allow me to swing out the front panels as a door and easily close it shut later. My only real issue is that the wire needs to be a stronger gauge - it has broken in a few places when I filled the bins to the top and was aerating.

I would give this a 3.5 star rating and recommend it to someone who will not overfill the bins with heavy content like grass clippings - might me more suitable to lighter use that I make of it.

Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

As other reviewers have stated, the middle bin is difficult (or impossible) to connect to the two end bins. The end bins went together easily with the clips. But the clips do not fit around the three thicknesses when attaching the middle panels to the end bins. It seems that a different clip should be supplied for this connection. I ended up using twist ties to hold them together.

Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I like these bins. They are unobtrusive--nearly invisible from a distance. I do wish they were easier to open one side to turn the contents more easily, but they are a heck of a lot easier to work with than my black plastic enclosed bin. Used with the organic microbial compost starter, I am amazed at how fast grass clippings are breaking down. I like having three bins to use for different stages of composting. I actually having a lot of fun with them! I don't put food waste in them because of the smell, but I think I could after the scraps are broken down in the enclosed bin. I originally wanted three bins built from shipping pallets, but that is more than I can physically manage. These are and excellent solution.

    Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I own about an acre of land and bag the grass clippings, mulch the leaves, veggie scraps, egg shells and coffee grounds to add to the compost. For me, this is the perfect size bin system. Breaks down fast. The wire construction allows for good airflow. The other comments that mention the clips are pretty much correct. I used zip ties. I also bought Earth staples to keep it in place.

      Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I like the clips for a single bin assembly but using them for a three-bin attached assembly was difficult because the clips must go around two wires. Also, the directions show the wire rectangles going lengthwise which made the bin too tall for my petite height. After assembling the three-bin arrangement, I did not feel like going to the trouble of taking everything apart and putting it back together again.

I use the bins for composting yard waste and organic kitchen waste, other than meat. Just got it but love it so far. The only problem I encountered was attaching the 2 center sections with the tabs provided. I ended up using some zip ties I had and it worked out great.

            Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I just put these together, so I don't have data on how they compost. However, the CLIPS are the only real problem. I thought I'd put them in on one side, then add the second side to it. Nope—you need that second side there to keep the clip open so it clicks on. (Don't nudge things with a hammer! The clips break easily.) Also, some of the clips didn't like to be locked in position, and broke during that process. FORGET about trying to clip the center section in when you have the two outer boxes done! There's no room to put the clips around just two pieces. The third keeps getting in the way. SOLUTION: I had some coated wire (for securing plants to supports), and just twisted that on. Worked great! Matches the bins! I think I'll be taking one side of clips on each of the outer boxes off and substituting the wire for that, so I can just untwist and open the bins to get to the compost. Don't know why this didn't come with some kind of hinge clip to make a door for each bin. I'll also have to buy some lengths of perforated drain to put in the center of each bin, since there's no air space between them and I don't want anaerobic (sp?) composting. Other than that, they look great and seem like they'll do VERY well! Not too expensive either.
