Works but design needs improvement

    Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I purchased this product because we have more leaves than we know what to do with. I think it looks good and has excellent capacity. It's sort of easy to put together with one exception. The clips are plastic and the way they are designed really only allows for a 4-sided bin. Once you try to use the same clips for the two middle panels, the panels do not stay together. The clips require more spacing between in line panels. I had to use wire to attach the middle panels to the 2 boxes. This is a simple design problem that probably has a simple design solution. I would give 4 or 5 stars but for this because when you spend that much money on something you don't want to have to modify it for it to work well.

      Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

Our lawn tractor doesn't mulch the lawn, just blows the grass clippings all over. We got a grass catcher for it and these bins are perfect for throwing the grass clippings and leaves in one neat spot instead of a big ugly pile.

          Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I love these bins and have 10 of them. My one complaint on the 3 bin system is the clips to attach the bins together. They are very hard to use and to connect them to each other. I like the wire coils that come with the 1 bin system. I would think you could use them for the 3 bin system just as easily. With the clips it takes over 1 hr. to put together. Other than that I love them once they are together.

Purchased this item for leaves. It has the large capacity I needed. It is doing exactly the job it was purchased for. However, putting it together was very difficult. The clips need to be redesigned. It took all the strength I had to clip them on. End result it works great!

            Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I like the three-bin wire composter. It's convenient and went together relatively easily, without tools. The clips can be hard to use, and I ended up going with zip ties to fasten the middle two pieces, as the clips really could not clip three wire pieces together.

This is a little pricy for what you get, but I bought it because I was too lazy to build something myself, and it seems fine.

It's a little hard to aerate, but I'm a little short.

I use it for leaves, grass clipping and bury the kitchen scraps and it is working well enough.

            Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

These bins are the perfect solution the the massive leaf drop from out 80 year old silver maple. Tucked away at the end of the garden they are hardly noticeable. Leaves are breaking down quickly so adding more is a snap. The open design makes them unsuitable for vegetable peelings and such.

              Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I put my shredded plant material with water into one bin. After two days I move the material to a second bin adding water as needed; two days later it goes back to the first bin. After 3 or 4 weeks I have usable compost that gets stored in the third bin for use in the garden. The bins are very light and easy to arrange. It is a bit of a hassle to open one side for easier movement of material, but that isn't always necessary.

              Comments about 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I got this wire composter specifically to collect fall leaves and it does that wonderfully. It looks great against my fence, and obviously looks much better than the pile of leaves I had there previously. It is bigger than I thought. All the leaves in our yard only took up 1 bin. We have three big maple trees and a huge oak tree. We did chop the leaves up before storing. I use these shreded leaves as mulch and soil amendment in my garden, so I am glad to find this wire composter bin.

Another great thing about it is that it keeps all the leaves in there even with strong wind.

I wouldn't recommend using this wire composter for other materials, especially big branches. I have separate composters for my other kitchen and yard waste so I don't use this for those purposes. It is a little flimsy so I don't think it would serve as well as other composters. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

I am very happy to have it to store ALL my fall leaves.
