Flimsy wire with poor quality plastic connectors

Comments about : 3-Bin Wire Composter:

For such an expensive system of wire construction, I expected a heavier gauge wire that would accept grass, leaves and garden waste for a complete compost system. Instead, the wire is thin, and the fasteners were hard to use and of poor quality as well. Several broke during assembly, so I replaced them with plastic self-tightening cable ties that worked fine. The directions for using the plastic clips were non-existent. I expected good quality and didn't get it. In hindsight, I could have created a sturdier alternative for half the $99.50.

For the past three years we have been adding these bins to our garden. We have heeled potted plants into the mulching leaves to keep them warm during the winter. In the spring the leaves make excellent mulch. Later in the season, the composted leaves make an excellent soil addition to our gardens.

The clips that came with this to put it together either didn't work or broke. I ended up buying rugged ties from the hardware store to assemble it. Other than that it works great. I bought it for leaf mulch that I intend to use for mulch for my vegetable garden next year.

Comments about : 3-Bin Wire Composter:

I bought this product to store my fall leaves in until they can be put into my compost bins. It holds a lot. I can easily aerate it with my pitch fork and turn it all. It was a little difficult to put together because some of the latches worked easily and some didn't. I'm not sure where I'm going to put it in spring; I'm fairly sure I'm not going to want to take it all apart until I need it again, so I'll likely have to find a new spot for it. I'm happy I bought it. It definitely is helping me to store the leaves that I'll need in the future, and it's so much nicer than storing bags of leaves in my garage.

Comments about : 3-Bin Wire Composter:

Other reviewers mentioned that the assembly clips are impossible to put on; they're absolutely right. I could not get the clips on at all. Happily, I read the reviews and got a cheap bag of cable ties, and used them to hold the back and sides together. The front sections will hold together if you put cable ties on one side and then slide the "door" shut.
The unit is pretty flimsy. I load things carefully - if you have large dogs or children, it would be easy for them to accidentally damage the unit.
All that said, it does have a large capacity, although the wide open mesh has me putting sheets of cardboard around the outside to hold things in, especially grass clippings and shredded leaves.
Recommended as long as you know what you're getting.

Comments about : 3-Bin Wire Composter:

This composter is ideal for an urban yard. We have 15 ft. separating each house, so I want no odors. I have none. It was incredibly simple to assemble, and so easy to use. I also like the look of it. It beats the pallets I have used in the past. The wire is thick enough to stand up, and won't bend out of shape easily. I also like the vinyl coating. It keeps everything neat and tidy.

Comments about : 3-Bin Wire Composter:

Fortunately I had read others' experiences with the lousy plastic clips provide to assemble this set, so I wasn't overly disappointed. The wire sides seem great, sturdy, etc. I purchased inexpensive small carabiner clips at a different site on-line, and they worked great to assemble them. A nice feature, over wired corners, is that the carabiners should make it easy able to rearrange, open up a side for tending, etc.
