  • Combines the benefits of raised bed gardening with self-watering convenience
  • Generous size provides 9 square feet of growing area at a depth of 12"
  • Grow a productive garden on your patio or deck

Now you can enjoy all the advantages of raised bed gardening, plus the added benefit of watering weekly instead of daily. This stylish planter boasts two 4-gallon reservoirs that keep plants lush and green even in a drought. Its crisp lines and realistic wood grain look elegant on the patio, but it's tough enough to use in the garden, because it's made of crack-proof, fade-proof polypropylene. Nine square feet of growing area; a generous 12" deep so it's deep enough for root crops like carrots. Dual-action watering system keeps plant roots just moist enough without waterlogging them, and a water gauge tells you when to refill. Includes easy-fill funnel with cover and two styles of finials. Make the planter mobile with optional casters, sold separately (each planter requires four sets).

  • Made of dense UV-stabilized polypropylene
  • 39-1/4" x 39-1/4" x 16" H
  • 8-gallon water reservoir
  • Holds 9 cubic feet (230 dry quarts) of Container Mix
  • Easy assembly
  • Add optional casters for mobility; each bed requires 16 casters total
  • Please note: If you are ordering this item as a gift, there is a picture of the item on the outside of the package

Comments about Self-Watering Terrazza Raised Beds:

I live in a townhouse community. Have a 400sq foot patio that is screened and fenced. Needed something to place outside against the fence that matched. This is perfect. Easy assembly, water reservoir so I can be gone for a few days and not worry about water. Long time Gardeners Supply customer. Whats not to like about this product? Its great for me.

Comments about Self-Watering Terrazza Raised Beds:

I have purchased several planters from this line for growing vegetables/ fruits on a raised patio. I have even grown raspberry and blueberry bushes in them. When new, they are very attractive, easy to assemble, and have the great self watering feature. After about 2-3 years, my white planters started to get patches of grey (?mold/ mildew), that I could not get clean with soap/ water/ scrubbing. I did not attempt power washing. My older planters are pretty much a mottled grey now. I am not sure how the darker colors would have weathered. I have left these planters outside year round in Zone 6. After about four years, the plastic of the self-watering tubes has become very brittle. Most of the caps have broken off. One tube just fell apart. Functionally, these planters are wonderful. They may not be the best if aesthetics are very important over time.

Comments about Self-Watering Terrazza Raised Beds:

The raised bed was easy enough to assemble, though a couple of steps were easier with two people. I love the way it looks. It made an unsightly area of my front porch look attractive. I have planted zucchini, nasturtiums, marigolds and some herbs. All are up, though it is too soon to know how they will do as summer moves along. I haven't used the water reservoir yet, as we have had plenty of rain. This product exceeds my expectations.

With limited space in our back yard this container is allowing us a garden that we thought we could never have. And it being raised is an advantage that we are enjoying. We have three planters and very pleased!

Blends well into our garden space. Makes it easy to take short trips with water reservoirs. Over the past three years we keep adding on to our planters. Love that they still have our color in stock so everything matches. We are using these planters to phase out our lawn.

Comments about Self-Watering Terrazza Raised Beds:

I bought my first two Terrazza planters about 7 years ago, when I had a hard time keeping tomato plants watered in Missouri. Those two beds moved with me to Alaska four years ago, and I have since purchased 6 more (and I am buying a few more today!)

Cons: The watering spouts NEVER work for indicating when full. You just have to water until the reservoirs overflow out the bottom. Plus, this year, after four years, a few of the spouts migrated out of the holes in the reservoirs, so this spring I will have to go digging to replace them, because you can't fill the reservoirs properly if the spout isn't in place.

Pros: In Alaska, raised beds are a MUST for raising vegetables. I have these on a south-facing deck, where the soil warms nicely. I've grown everything from peas to wax beans to cauliflower and artichokes successfully in my Southcentral Alaska climate. I highly recommend the casters, because these planters are easy to move, even if you are small, on the casters. These beds have held up through 4 Alaskan winters. Finally, because they are on my deck, plants in these tend not to be browsed by moose, unlike the rest of my unfenced garden.

Comments about Self-Watering Terrazza Raised Beds:

I've had the tomato planter for years and loved it. We wanted to grow more vegetables to show our granddaughter where food came from. These planters are a perfect height for her to be able to see and help without stepping. A bonus is that thanks to the reservoirs we do not have to deal with our sandy soil and severe watering restrictions.
