we had used a similar product from another supply company and had no problems. These the water (wine) bottle emptied immediately, no slow release of the water ...we are disappointed.

Water runs through very quickly. Had the aqua cone barely in the dirt, all the way in the dirt and it had the same effect. Like I said i must be doing something wrong.

The terracotta would let the water out at an appropriate rate if it did not have holes in it. As it is, the water just runs through the containers. We Closed the holes with epoxy and now they work as they were intended. One of the four that I purchased was cracked when it arrived. I hope that epoxy will do the job on it as well. I will order more of these, because even though they are flawed, when the epoxy is added they work better than any other system that I have tried.

Good idea, but this material is so brittle, not a single one of my cones is still intact. I had bought 8.

                      Do not buy!

These units are a good idea, but they are very thin terra cotta, and break very easily.

I was looking forward to a non-plastic watering aid, but the clay is so thin it broke the first time I used it.

I order these every year. This is necessary because they are fragile. They break but they're so handy and resonably priced that this is ok with me.

I used these in two large patio pots to help keep the soil moist in the hot summer. I don't remember any instructions saying put sand in the tip to reduce the flow, but I did use a cotton ball to inhibit the quick flow of water. The terra cotta material was poured so thin that they cracked upon placing them in the soil just from the pressure of my hand around the bulb. My soil was very soft and it inserted easily but they are just TOO thin and fragile. I have worked with liquid ceramic pouring and these could easily be poured thicker! I loved the unique shape, much more so than other plant nanny's I have purchased since these are broken.

I keep these in my pots from spring thru fall. They do need to be removed during the cold winter to avoid breakage. They provide a great way to give your plants the right amount of water.
