Tie together to eliminate frustrations

By Garden Gal

Pros

  • Durable
  • Pretty easy to use

Cons

    Best Uses

I've used these fences for climbing beans for several years now and they're still going strong. I just ordered several more sets. I've read other comments about people's frustrations with the panels coming apart from each other. That is a problem, but easily solved by taking some twine and tying a few loops around the spots where the panels hook together. They stay together that way and still fold up reasonably well. I also work with them in 4 panel sections, instead of the 8 panel sections that come in a box - easy enough to handle with just one person, even the tall kind. This product is ultimately much easier than inventing your own system each year.

It's hard to get the top half on the bottom half but if you work from one edge to the other it goes pretty smothly. The look of green beans crawling accross this red trellis is just breath taking!!

First time growing peas and decided to get this trellis for them to grow up. Due to space I planted them in 3 rows and the trellis set up accommodated that perfectly. Goes together easy and is quite sturdy. Peas are about half way up already and they latch on easily to the frame.

I put this fence up myself, but I was wishing my husband was around to help. On second thought, he would have had a fit! Like the other reviews say, the panels come apart too easily. I concentrated on putting a few panels up at a time. I may try bending the "hinges" with a pliers.
Other than that, they are well made, attractive and are standing as straight as the day I put them up. Perfect height for my 5 foot plus peas.

Concept is good but all the pieces come apart. I succeeded in building two separate free standing trellis and have more pieces to build a third but I was never going to get the whole thing installed in one unit, especially all by myself. Design could be improved.

We purchased the trellis specifically for support for our sugar snap peas. The trellis was a bit tricky to put together as the panels bend and fold so getting them lined up was somewhat of a challenge. However, once you get the trellis put together it works beautifully in the garden. The peas climb it on their own and are standing up perfectly straight. You will need the stakes that are a separate purchase to help stabilize the trellis if you are in an area that gets some wind.

the total ordeal of trying to put this P ladder together alone was so frustrating I was ready to bend it in half and ship it back in the box. Once together and up it looks good but I am totally dreading trying to install it again next season. ...Not at all user friendly.

It was very difficult to assemble. In theory it may have seemed good but the functionality was a disaster. As you assembled one section the other section would come apart. It didn't matter how we approached this from laying it on the ground to trying it standing up. You put one section together and as you put it into the ground the other section would fall off. The designer needs to come up with a better plan.
