Good for peas and beans. Both folds and comes apart for storage. A few of the legs have bent, though, and they're hard for me to straighten.

Worked great, until I was ready to take it down.

I was excited to pull this out of the box and set up. However, right away the problems developed. The top half sections are almost impossible to assemble by oneself. But I got it done. When my peas were done, I went to take down this trellis. Honestly, every section came apart and now I have about 18 pieces to wonder how I'm going to get it together next summer. Don't expect this trellis to stay in one piece as you pull it out of the ground. I'm probably going to try trellis netting next.

I use this sturdy versatile trellis to keep my raspberry and delphiniums from toppling to the ground from the weight of their fruit and flowers. The trellis is tough to do alone, much easier with the teamwork of another person.

I have four of these now and I use all of them every year. You can't beat the ease of set up or breakdown. They store flat which is the sweetest feature. Great buy!

Not Up to Gardener's Supply Usual Great Products

Comments about : Tall Expandable Pea Trellis:

There are only a few negative reviews on this product and I overlooked them thinking that the person simply couldn't figure out how to put it together ... well I should have listened. I had all of the same issues and I just returned it.

It comes in two sections - a top and a bottom. Each of the sections kept falling apart and after a long struggle, I got the top affixed to the bottom and went to stand it up and it all fell apart again!!!

The issue is that it is made with the same sort of "panels" that the WONDERFUL Tomato and Pepper cages are made of, but they do not stay connected - when you go to lift the unit up, the sections disconnect. I was going to get a pliers and start bending around where the sections connect, but if that didn't work, then I was sure that I could not return it and I did expect it to work "out of the box".

Be careful if you decide to purchase - The product is about $50, shipping was around $12 and it cost me $26 to ship it back. So I'll have lost $38 in shipping costs to try this. I have purchased many fine products from Gardener's Supply over the years, but this is not one of them.

      Wall of tomato!

      By Queen Anne Hill

      from Seattle, WA

Comments about : Tall Expandable Pea Trellis:

I put two of these together in a zig zag pattern and now 8 varieties of indeterminate tomatoes are growing with some already taller than 6 ft. I reinforced the structure with zip-tied rebar to ensure stability, a good move considering the weight of the plants. Weaving the tomato vines in and out of the gaps means no battling twist ties and more sun! The trellis comes in two vertical pieces and many horizontal which increases flexibility, surplus sections are used for cucumber and edamame. The red color is beautiful, about to order more - this trellis is flexible for many uses.

      Pros

      • Well-made; sturdy; nice powder coating; colors

      Cons

      • They come apart pretty easily.

      Best Uses

      • To keep the deer out of my flower garden.

Comments about : Tall Expandable Pea Trellis:

These are sturdy, well-made trellises. They are the only trellises that I found that are tall enough to be used to keep the deer out of my flower garden. I purchased much less expensive trellises from another vendor and they were horrible. I returned all of them. I got great customer service and advice from Gardener's Supply. This was my first purchase from this company.
