Description

  • Use hoops to support garden row covers, protecting plants from frost, insects, birds, or intense sun
  • Ideal for our 3' x 3' and 3' x 6' raised beds as well as in-ground beds
  • Choice of 2 styles: Super Hoops for new transplants and low-growing crops; High Rise Super Hoops for taller plants
  • Set of 6 hoops

Back by popular demand, these support hoops are customer and staff favorites. Made from two heavy-gauge wires joined by cross braces, they're easier to install than single hoops (no flopping!) and they support fabric, bird net and shade net better, too. They're ideally suited for 3' wide raised beds. They may also be used in 4' wide beds as well as in-ground beds; for these situations we recommend using 10" Extra-Tall Earth Staples to secure the hoops, especially in soft ground and windy areas. Super Hoops are 58" L and provide 14" headroom in a 3' wide bed — plenty of height for new transplants and low-growing crops. Hi-Rise Super Hoops include two sets of Super Hoops with 12 inline connectors. They’re 116" L and provide 43" headroom in a 3' bed, enough height for all but the tallest crops.

I am using the Super Hoops over my potato plants. They are so easy to place and have done a fantastic job of keeping out the potato beetles. They can be moved around easily and don't require any installation. I highly recommend them.

I used the high rise version to hold bird netting over my blueberry bushes, and they worked beautifully. Really easy to install on my own. I am going to buy more for my cabbage plants.

I purchased two sets of the hi-rise. The nice thing about ordering the hi-risers is that you can still use them as low tunnels until you need to add a second one to make a hi-rise. They are very easy to manipulate to use separately or to hook together. I will be buying more!!

I was concerned that I would bend them inappropriately and ruin the super hoops. I went slowly and they are working well to hold all purpose fabric on the temporary greenhouse to harden seedlings. I will use them to protect the eggplant from flea beetles whe transplanted.

I bought these to cover my pepper garden to keep critters out. Squirrels in my section of Florida border on pestilence so they must be kept away. The last couple years I used 3 ft high green fencing and stakes and would lift the top off when I would harvest and then put the top back down. As it was 4'x 4', this wasn't difficult but this year I expanded to 12' wide so I needed a more permanent or easy to access roof. So I found the hoops and was going to mount these to the top of my 3 foot stakes and then cover them with fencing, create a door and voila: instant enclosed house. After getting them, though I decided to put 3 together and put them directly in the ground and use zip ties to keep them in place with the stakes. Now there are four hoops instead of 6 but that works fine with the fencing I put on top. So now my house is about 5'6" in height, 4' wide and 12' long. I used some leftover aircraft cable and tie-downs to keep the fencing from sagging in the middle. I'm pleased as punch. See pics.
