Additional Information

Standing Heated Birdbath Provides Fresh Water to Keep Birds Healthy Year-Round

  • Provide birds with much-needed fresh water in all types of weather
  • Built-in thermostat conserves electricity
  • Includes four-prong ground stake

Birds need access to water in winter as much as in summer. In addition to drinking, birds use water for their frequent grooming, otherwise, their feathers can’t insulate against winter’s cold. This plug-in steel birdbath has an efficient, 75-watt heater with a thermostatic control that heats only when necessary and keeps water from freezing at outdoor temperatures as low as -10°F. Insulated plastic bowl holds 2 quarts.

Product Details

  • Powder-coated steel, plastic
  • Bowl is 13-1/2" in diameter x 2" H
  • 37-1/2" H; approx. 35" H installed
  • 75-watt heater
  • Holds 2 quarts
  • Cord tucks away for birdbath use in summer months

Comments about : Standing Heated Birdbath:

We've always purchased our heated birdbaths from GS. We live in Burlington and can purchase directly from the store. Previous versions have been black and much deeper. The birds flocked to the deeper black version constantly.

This shallow and green version seems to repel birds. We have to fill it every other day and have yet to see a bird in it.

      Flimsy but it works

      By Megan

Comments about : Standing Heated Birdbath:

This works. It's 4F right now. There are ice crystals along the top circumference, but the water inside is not frozen.

That said, it's a really cheap design. The four poles that actually touch the ground are flimsy and were not level when I purchased it. (Because the water bowl is so shallow, any degree of imbalance has a major impact.) I had to bury two legs in order to make it work, which wouldn't have been possible if I were placing the product on concrete or a deck.

The water evaporates quickly, so be prepared to have to fill it every single day when it's cold.

It works. But I was disappointed in the quality.

It will be nice to have the water for the birds in winter, but I"m not sure the stand will be able to take the winter weather. Time will tell. I've only had it out for a few weeks.

Comments about : Standing Heated Birdbath:

I use the heated bird bath as intended: as a winter heated bird bath. It has never frozen over, even down to minus 20F. I do not use it during the summer, but it could be used then. The birds come regularly to it all winter. It draws birds into my yard as well as, maybe better than, the various seed and suet I have out. It is outside both my kitchen and sun room, so I have fun watching it easily. I do not like going out in the very cold to fill it, but that is a necessity. When my old one of many years broke, I liked it enough to replace it with the same product.

Place the birdbath where the birds are somewhat protected from frigid winds and predators as they bathe; we have ours close to the back of the house (and an outlet), next to an ornamental tree, where they can fly if threatened.

Comments about : Standing Heated Birdbath:

This heated birdbath is adequate, but because of its small diameter post and weak "feet", I drove a half-inch diameter metal rod into the ground and slipped the supplied hollow post over it (we have strong wind sometimes and aggressive gray squirrels). I added a smallish flat stone in the middle to give birds something to land on. So far, so good.

The water dish only holds about 2 pints of water which diappears within hours of filling. Plus there isn't much of a lip for the birds to stand on. I never saw a single bird use it. I bought this so I wouldn't have to go out in the hold every day to fill the bird bath. I ended up just using my regular bird bath and de-icing it every day.
