        Comments about Standing Garden:

We had an area right outside our garage where an ugly set of shelves had been previously; this was a great area to grow a few vegetables. I checked Gardeners Supply and found this standing garden container; I ordered one. My husband assembled it, filled it with gardening soil and planted some tomato plants in it. He liked it so much that he ordered a second one and we have pepper plants now planted in it. We'll be ordering at least one more; great product!

Attractive planter. Size is workable. No bending over, and my plants are out of the reach of the many squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks that like to ruin my garden. Very easy to assemble.

          • Easy To Tend

          Comments about Standing Garden:

The planter's water reservoir overflowed before the "bobbin" in the water level indicator ever even moved. In fact the "bobbin" never did move, so i don't think I can use that level indicator as a real guide for watering purposes.

Love that it is as elevated as it is; I have back problems and I can work on the garden with ease.

The casters I purchased were entirely too large; they would not insert into the plugs. So I am not using casters.

Lousy Casters on a Decent Box

                Comments about Standing Garden:

The bed itself seems reasonable, and not too hard to assemble. But the housing for the casters break when you assemble them, and even when they don't break they fall out of the legs.

                    Comments about Standing Garden:

I have this planter sitting on the ground next to my porch and I am finding that it becomes overfilled before the water float indicates that it is full. I can only surmise this happens because it is not quite level. However it is a small problem that does not affect the way I am using this planter. It looks nice, and was easy to put together (though I would recommend predrilling the screw holes for easier assembly).
Yes, it might develop mold or black spots on it; but this is a matter of the weather and natural weathering. You need to expect this sort of thing on a wooden planter that sits outdoors!! So far I am very pleased with this item and will probably buy another one.

Older person with arthritis. No bending, easy to care for plants. Love growing fresh herbs for cooking. Added a trellis for peas.

Wish there had been predrilled holes in the wood.

Want to buy another one next year as I prefer this to many smaller pots.
