Additional Information

Highly Effective Organic Insecticide Spinosad in an Easy-to-Apply Dust

  • Organic insecticide spinosad controls many insect pests
  • Use on fruits, vegetables and ornamentals
  • Choice of two sizes

Spinosad is a soil-dwelling bacterium that controls dozens of insect pests: bagworms, borers, beetles, spider mites, tent caterpillars, loopers, and many, many more. Yet it has a low environmental impact because, once dry, it only kills insects that ingest it. That means you won’t harm beneficial insects. We recommend applying in the evening when bees are not active.

Comments about : Dead Bug Dust, 1-1/2 Lbs.:

I use Dead Bug on my sweet autumn clematis and my hardy hibiscus to head off whatever bugs attack them. I also sprinkle it on my roses and on tender bean seedlings just as they emerge. Works everywhere.

Works ok, but difficult to apply.

Comments about : Dead Bug Dust, 1-1/2 Lbs.:

I bought this to help control bugs in my petunia beds. It seems to work alright, but it is difficult to apply. When I shook the container over the flowers, the powder spilled out and left the flowers covered in white powder. Most of bugs were on the under sides of the leaves, and I couldn't get the powder on the under sides of the leaves very easily. I ended up putting the powder on my fingers and hands and then rubbing the leaves. It was very time consuming.

Comments about : Dead Bug Dust, 1-1/2 Lbs.:

In this case, I prefer the spray alternative; when dusting this, one has to follow a special technique, by first shaking the dust, and then, applying "a thin, uniform film to both top and underside of leaves...)

  • Easy to use

Comments about : Dead Bug Dust, 1-1/2 Lbs.:

I used the product on my cold crops to keep the imported cabbage butterflies away. could not find the tomato horn worm that I knew was eating my one tomato plant,so I sprinkle some on the plant and the next day it was laying on the driveway next to the plant. I felt it was save around benifical insects.

The product was dusted on my rose bushes and the dust stayed on for several days despite some showers. I haven't seen a beetle for about 3 weeks.
