    My go to shovel

I bought this shovel the first year it was available. Because of a recent wrist and hand injury, I thought I would not be able to tend my perennial beds that year. The sharp head and light handle on this shovel made it possible for me to dig without much torque. It has been my go-to tool ever since, over many high quality shovels and forks I've had for years. It cuts through roots, digs in tight space, and produces deep holes easily for planting trees and shrubs.

I'm eighty two years old. When the person I asked to dig out my old plants didn't show up, I dug them up with this shovel. It digs through clay like butter.

When I got this I went out to a stand of overgrown Cinnamon Ferns and proceeded to isolate one within the "cup" of the shovel and then kicked the shovel once. In one move I had a fern ready to transplant, cleanly cut and with sufficient depth to insure viability. If you have long standing plantings in need of being thinned to redistributed this is your tool.

I received a gift card and immediately purchased this shovel tagged on my GS wishlist. It is the Best Shovel I Have Ever Used. I dug out multiple clumps of root-bound decorative grasses -- a tough job that could take hours. With this spear-head spade, I got them out in no time, with ease, in awkward corners, and with no neck or back pain while using it or later in the day. I amended my raised planting beds (also from GS and now about eight years old and still in excellent condition)and then used this shovel to turn the soil. Best and fastest blending ever. Amazing! A neighbor was working in his yard and I went over to see if I could help dig. I was having that much fun.

The end of the handle is way too flimsy for this product. If it could not survive being shipped, I do not see it being able to function in the garden.
