Cons

We hung the lights outside and they look great. The solar panel was easy to figure out and attach. We do not have to do anything to them- they come on and go off on their own. They look very nice.

Put this up on our covered front porch, the cords for the solar panels are long enough to capture the sun during the day. So glad we bought two sets, it was easy to put up and the rotating colors are fun to watch.

      wonderfully fun to watch

we placed these hanging from a low branch arching over our entranceway. they are an extreme joy to watch as each ball gently fades/cycles through it's 7 colours (red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, magenta, white) and produce endless patterns of colours. almost zen like, possibly even addicting. had all great comments from neighbors and visitors wanting to know where we found such a thing (and solar powered as well!). the solar panel is small but does the job. a sunny day, and the balls last all night. an overcast day and they last half the night. a really dark gray and rainy day, they still come on for about 2 hours. a slightly larger solar panel would be great, OR if you live where more sun is available then all would be well.

i was worried when I got these that I spent too much and that they might be tacky but no, they are wonder-full. I live in the tropics and the colors are vibrant and the way they change color is great...not your mom's Christmas lights and no creeping electric bills. just the best!

I bought these to decorate our deck, and they are fantastic. They work exactly as described, and few hours of sun powers them for several hours. The globes are basically a squishy plastic ball, so the bulbs are nestled safely inside. My hubby & I like these so much that I just ordered another set!

Beautiful, but no match for squirrels

        By John

        from Chicago

        Verified Reviewer

These are spectacularly beautiful, and very useful because the extended cord means you can put them in places that don't get any sunlight, such as under a tree. Unfortunately, the wiring was no match for the squirrels in my yard, which repeatedly ate through the wires, even after I patched them together with wire connecters. Finally, the fixes no longer worked and the lights are dead.

I am thinking of trying again next year, but this time wrapping the wire in electrical tape before I put them outside.

          • Hanging In Greehhouse

We hung these lights in our greenhouse, and can watch the display change from our house. They are very beautiful and a little sun really gives them a good charge, that last all night.
Love the aspect of the Solar Power supplying the energy for these lights.
Only problem is now we would like another set.
