These planters are too expensive and are not made very well...They look nice but for the price they SHOULD LAST for years.

Unfortunately, this product does not stay water resistant. I order four of these and only two worked for the first summer. The other two died very early this year. The pot was not sealed very well and moisture got into the circuit board that controls the solar lights. The water ruined the circuit boards and left the planters without the lights that had looked so nice the first couple months. The workmanship needs to be better for this product to be worth the money. They looked nice on the deck while the lighting worked but that only lasted a couple months.

I really really wanted to like these planters. I ordered 2 planters and only one of them worked...at first I thought it was user error so I just kept playing around with them and nothing. Customer service was very nice and sent out another planter although I had just asked for replacement solar components. Fortunately, that one worked great. When they work the planters are really cool. But unfortunately out of 3 planters, only one works. I just got so frustrated with them not working that I have just taken the solar components apart and have just left them as plain planters. I feel like I spent a lot of money on these things for them to not work as intended. I was thinking that I might contact customer service again to see if I can just replace the solar components again...I'll give it another go...maybe.

I like these so much, I now have seven. They look great clustered together on my sunny front porch. I filled them with showy succulents, and they've been trouble-free for months now. The changing colors, on a gentle fade, are just mesmerizing. I mixed the three sizes, and left the solar stake right in the pots...who objects to solar?
Yes, they seem expensive at first, but when you see the quality, and add up how much they add to your evening-scape, the value is clear.

Comments about : Solar Illuminated Planter, Medium:

I already have one and enjoy it so much that I ordered this one to donate to a charity auction. One of the organizers has some color changing solar items in her backyard and was so excited to see this planter that she put in the first bid.
My only real issue is that in order to keep the planter in the shade on the patio I had to put the solar panel in the lawn at the edge of the patio and every time my husband mowed the lawn he'd pull up the panel and lay it on the patio. I solved this by putting the solar panel in a pot that holds a sun plant and sits in sun all day. Sometimes in the evening I actually pause at the patio door just to watch the planter go through a couple of color changes because it looks so pretty in the dark.

This pot is decent for a small porch. It's extremely easy to put together but please note it doesn't lock into place so the inner pot will shift.
