Comments about : Snip-n-Drip Soaker Hose, 25':

I've bought several of the snip n drip kits. I have them all over my yard from the vegetable garden to the flower beds to the young bushes and trees. You can buy the entire kit or get the parts you need over time to add to or replace what you already have. This time I just needed the soaker hose part. Of all the times I've used this system, and it's been over the last 4 years, only once did I have a hose spring a small leak and it was quickly remedy by putting a clothes pin over the hole and I'm still using that soaker hose. Wouldn't mind there being a 50' option, since my garden space is still growing.

      Comments about : Snip-n-Drip Soaker Hose, 25':

I have been using this system with a timer in raised beds for 2 years, and mostly I love it. My garden has been so much more productive. But like another user commented, I live in an area with hard water and find that the hose has to be replaced annually to maintain good even flow. So I am buying the new hose for next spring right now while it's on sale. This is not great but tolerable for just a couple raised beds, but would be a huge pain in a larger setup. If you use old hose with new hose when expanding, the new hose will drip a lot more than the old. And I found store bought hose doesn't always fit the connectors as well even if it's supposed to be the same size, and will have different pore size so won't drip at the same rate. So I am resolved to buying a full replacement annually to keep it functioning well. It would also be great if extra hose came in longer lengths like the 50' that comes in the starter kit. I recommend buying a pack of the extra connectors to allow you to repair the occasional large tear/hole in the hose that may happen.

I have the system set up with pressure regulators, and do not turn the water up high. Despite those measures, I need to constantly check the hose to check for leaks. It is getting frustrating and I'm unhappy with the product. Just hoping to get thru the season and look for something else next year.

      Comments about : Snip-n-Drip Soaker Hose, 25':

I love the ease and flexibility of this system. I bought two landscape kits last year and several extra parts in 2016 and 2017 to create watering systems for fruit trees and raised vegetable beds. It is easy to put together a custom system. However, it is expensive. Sadly, the soaker hose component, which is critical, is not sturdy. When trying to create a new system this year for some raised beds, I realized that segments of soaker hose used last year were dramatically less porous than new hose purchased this year. I realized that my tree watering system set up last year was just not watering as much as it was last year when it was new. The options are to increase the water pressure (which tends to lead to ruptures) or manually poke holes in the soaker segments, but even these get plugged up. The soaker hose also becomes brittle and easy to damage. The bottom line is that I will have to replace the soaker segments every year to maintain the effectiveness of the system which is too much trouble and too much money. I also have had problems maintaining system pressure when linking raised beds into a single system, so that upstream beds got too much water and downstream beds not enough. Snip-n-Drip may work well for people with softer water and ground level watering. I will probably go to a different system using PVC tubing. I spent a lot of money for systems that got me one or two years of watering.
